  1. 1. Which Calendar System should we go with?

    • Option 1: 30.4 Year System (8 month)
      21
    • Option 2: 30.4 Year System (12 month)
      55
    • Option 3: 26 Year System (14 month)
      85
    • Option 4: 52 Year System (7 month)
      141
    • Option 5: Other

I would absolutely say option four, as honestly I think 12 days per year is a bit slow. However, if not, I'd just say option two is the next best.

None of those are really applicable, because if they were to be, I'd have had conversations with people stretching out for 3 days straight.

All of the suggestions are making use of the 30min day 30min night cycle. So if you have a 3 hour conversation then... sure

Are we required to then follow this calender?

Man, if there is an In-Game calendar pop up that'd be amazing. I'd be awesome if you some how use a In-Game book, so players could craft a mini calendar.

Anyway,

Option 3 to me seems really great. So it gets my vote.

To those of you stressing about character age and death after a year, you're right, but you're wrong.

When the date plugin is implemented, aging your characters will be optional.

It will completely depend on you, and if you want to age them or not.

With the release of this plugin and its subsequent news announcement, I (and many others with me) would appreciate being informed of the number of years that passed in each new world, if this information is available.

Seen as ageing will be a 'thing' it will be important to know your starting age.

This.

Guys, no one is forcing you to age and kill off your character. It will be exactly the same as previous, just with a working date plugin for those who do wish to age their characters.

Option 4 requires the least hassle and works just as the time does currently. No need to change what ain't broke.

Actually Option 1 does what the time does currently, hence why's it noted to be the Current System . Even so, there's every need to change what isn't broken, that's how improvements are made and obsolete systems are removed. If we had the mentality of not changing what wasn't broken, then we would not be releasing new plugins, we'd likely still be RPing on vanilla minecraft, and the majority of the playerbase would have left in boredom. A better saying should be "Fix what is broken, improve what is not".

Wait, we aren't already using option 4... oh god, all my characters ages are all wrong...

Yup. A week has never been a year in the LOTC calendar. Just common misconception. But with the 10 min day 10 min night cycle that I believe we are still on, a year is probably passing every four days. Sweet Betty Boop that's fast!
