Month Names For The Calendar System

Why use only one name corresponding to each month? Like Month of the harvest, or Setting of the moon, or something along those lines.

I think it should be

1: January

2: February

3: April

4: June

5: August

6: October

7: December

I came with these on my own off of the top of my head. For serious!

But no seriously I like the ones that tie in with the lore. It makes no sense to name them randomly so for example Monday could be Iblees' day because mondays suck

1:Snow's Maiden

2:Malin's Welcome

3:The First Seed

4:Sun's Smile

5:The Amber Cold

6:The Deep Cold

7: that Month Nobody Really Cares About But Has It On Their Calenders Anyway

I like this idea, as its based the current off the current system and I have used a few of the month names in my character's biography. But with a name from the original calendar for the seventh month (ie. The Second Seed or The Great Harvest.)

Agreed. Why not use the old month names. Also, regarding seasons..maybe have the seasons change every month? I mean why should the seasons be so short? I think it'd be kind of cool to have a 1 month irl long winter. Which means the seasons change every 4 years ic. Winter is coming...

Everyone's suggestions include seasons. Does this mean that we are just accepting that Anthos has four seasons in a year, even though it only takes 7 days?

Krug's Joy (Summer)

Urguan's Farewell (Autumn)

Metztli's Breeze (Autumn>Winter)

Elder Chill (Winter)

Aeriel's Light (Winter>Spring)

Horen's Mercy (Spring)

Malin's Blessing (Spring>Summer)

Using Elven numbers for days of the week:

I : oemekarim

II : niukarn

III : haelarim

IV : vailukim

V : kulikarem

VI : banihkarn

VII : laierm

I love this. *_*

The week names are a bit of a mouthful, but I'm sure that the races would find abbreviations and whatnot... As for the months, I love these.

Why would we have a universal months with the same names for every culture and nation how would it make sense?

And that date how many times are we changing this? Now its 7 days for a year it was 12, and before that it was 4 and before that it was I do not know what. Why cant we just stay with 12, and sorry 7 days thats to little for a year.

Mog, things have changed. Players have voted on this change, beating all over alternatives by pretty much half.

The date is changing the final time. Once I have implemented it into a plugin, this will not be changing. So be happy, because it's a good change, and things will make much more sense. :)

I refuse to have the language of heretical elves for my days of the week and a bunch of people and guys that pale in comparison to Horen in my months.

I didn't think the elven day names would be taken very well. But I thought I might as well put it out there as they might just end up being used in Malinor whether they're part of a plugin or not.

Also, I still think that seasons should last for a year, not two days irl. Thats not enough time for some winter rp ;_;

Seasons don't have to take place all in one year, I do not believe that was mentioned as a necessity as it is not. If people are suggesting that, it is likely just a suggestion in hope of seasons being RPed one way or the other, though both sides will be considered when making the decision. That being said, this is a fantasy server and we are open to ALL possibilities. This means that we don't even have to stick to the four IRL seasons, we could just do two of them (Like Summer and Winter in the ASoIaF) or completely unique and different ones. However, we left the brainstorming up to you guys for a reason, so be as wild and creative as you wish! I personally prefer the traditional four IRL seasons, but that's just my one opinion among a crowd of others.
