-To The King; War On The Farthing?-

A rather crude letter, wrapped in a poor mans parchment, and farmers twine is (presumably) Delivered to the King, bearing the ancient, true mark of Elendil on it.

"Thorin Grandaxe, King under the mountain, and Lord of Kal'Urguan."

"It might have come to your attention, that a Vassal kingdom of the empire is suffering from weak leadership, particularly that of Lachlan Mor Elendil. Writing this, is Arnorian Elendil, son of Thorenir Elendil. Lachlan has currently built a Town into the lands of Lenfarthing, tearing up the woods, and building a town in the sight of three other towns nearby. The Halflings indeed send him complaints, yet he would refuse to move the town. After quite some time, the Halflings resorted to lighting bags of leaves on fire, and scorching a five foot segment of the base of a wall near the town. In retaliation, your Vassal lord Lachlan, has deemed it worthy to send knights into the Farthing, and burn the Village. He openly lies to them, and seeks a demise over a portion of a wall, which he claims, 'They burnt my Village, and killed people.' Clearily, he is deluded and mad, and must be removed.

Scincerely, Arnorian Elendil, the Exiled.

Wilbur Took, resident and a Deputy in Lenfarthing, hears word of this letter, after having seen Arnorian, the man who wrote it. Frowning, Will pipes up in conversation with a few Halflings at the Lumpy Pumpkin Tavern.

"I heard word that some old war-mongeror is trying to destroy those Adunian folk... We used to have bad tensions with them, you know, but I think those days are cleared up and over. They are replanting our forest, and moving their wall! Just like old times, it is, just like old times. Them Adunian blokes aren't too bad, once you talk to them!"

Giovanni looks to the parchment, reading it. A purple plume of smoke comming from his nostrils as the curves and wrinkles of his face collapse on each other in confusion "Deh 'alflings...  are in fer trouble.. an' 'dis person.. I need'ta deal wit.." he sighs, shaking his head as he takes yet another deep inhale of the foul smelling smoke

He takes a piece of parchment and begins writing, scribbling a picture of Lenfarthing on fire, crossing it out and then a picture of two stick figures, one humanoid, and one halfling sized, holding hands and smiling. He seals the wax with a large "GN" And sends it with his old grey, bone-showing dog, sending Rascal to Lenfarthing to deliver the message.

Gavin stands as he watches the folk of High Oak tear down the stakes for re-positioning. He turns his helmet right as men pass carrying saplings to replace the stumps of the downed trees. He holds a small smile under his helmet thinking over his original anger towards the situation and how courageous the halflings were. He let's out a small chuckle as he leaves the area, recovering the land taking time, but the effort already in place.

Gronkk tussles Wilbur's hair before plodding off into the sunset, knowing his job as come to an end. The halflings will, once again, be able to go about their day in peace, and can rest without fear. A noble race, they are, Gronkk thought to himself, so small yet so courageous. Perhaps one day the other petty nations of Anthos would heed the halflings' fine way, and learn peace and harmony.

Deep thoughts were had by Gronkk, waddling away from the once-again-peaceful land of Lenfarthing. Deep thoughts, accompanied by a cooked halfling leg and an "Eurhurhurhurhurhurhurhur"
