Lorelei was born in Lareh’thilln, the Jewel of the West. Her father loved his daughter – constantly doting gifts upon her, so growing up she had everything she could have ever wanted. Her mother was colder, more insensitive. Her family were pure-blooded, so she grew up in a beautiful house. Both her parents were scholars, they both worked at the Haelun’or College teaching literature and art. She loved the quiet solitude of the college and would often accompany them to read in its library full of worldly knowledge. Utterly engrossed with leather-bound books, she armoured herself with facts and knowledge. Some High Elves didn’t like the other races, but Lorelei was taught to just ignore them, as High Elves are the superior race. A fulfilled life should be one filled with knowledge, arts and science, her head was filled from a young age with the Mali-aheral law. Having children is incredibly hard for elves, so Lorelei is an only child. She had many friends who she would escape from her lessons and go and play with. Her parents groomed her to become a scholar herself, to follow the family tradition and teach others. But in her heart, Lorelei knew that the life of teaching wasn’t for her. She yearned for adventure, something that her prideful family wouldn’t understand. As she matured, a marriage to a well-respected Mali named Petir, who her parents loved for his quick mind and pure blood. Lorelei knew that if she didn’t marry a ‘pure’ elf she would be ridiculed, and she had always been taught that a High Elf should have a home and a job. Her jewellery business was flourishing. All was well. But on the eve of their wedding, Petir was killed in a freak Orc fight. Lorelei was devasted, and found that the beautiful mountain top city was suddenly too large. She told her father, who had always wanted the best for her that she was going to leave and travel. He handed her a dagger, murmured “maehr’saw hiylun’ehya” in her ear, blessing her journey and helped her leave without a fuss. Her father would later tell everyone that she had been sent to live with relations to not disgrace the family or have Lorelei become unwelcome if she ever should return. Now she travels from town to town, learning more and more about the other races and knowledge around the world she had read about so many times. She yearns to learn more and find someone to spend the rest of her life with.

I have lived in Aegrothond almost my entire life. My parents were both hunters, and when I was a child my father used to take me on trips with him, although he would seldom take me out of the kingdom. I’m now skilled with a bow, and my parents gifted me my beautifully carved one on my birthday. I take it with me everywhere. My father used to try and teach me to try and find a balance within myself but I am still trying to find it. I’m an only child, but I had a friend called Miri – we were always told off for talking in the middle of school. We lived in one of the smaller burrows by the beach, with our horse outside. I’ve had quite a few trysts in my time, and I have no intention to settle down with someone just yet. I have now left my family to find my own way and have begun travelling to start my own adventure which I have wanted all my life. I have travelled on my own for a few years now, and I’m yet to find where I truly belong. So my journey continues..
