  1. The assumption that Panashea is trying to be sneaky here or make Ologs strong for his own personal use is simply false. That being said, their strongest attacks are that with the force of a warhammer. This does not seem so OP to me considering every knight I've encountered is fully adorned in plate armor w/ a warhammer that is enchanted or powered by X deity. I am not against giving them more drawbacks, but the current meme state of Ologs needs change.
  2. Wondering whether I should use a character slot to make a persona that isn't EVIL but humans are nub fun.

  3. Don't let it happen if you lowkey like kind of don't want it to like happen though

  4. What about the server keeps you logging in every week? If you were to give one piece of advice to a new player, what would it be? Also, goblin or uruk?
  5. I do not think the question should be whether the banned user deserves transparency. Rather, I think the community would benefit from transparency. This should be the focus of the debate.
  6. An erratic goblin delivers the latest edition of the Kaktuz Weekli to Ghuun as he wanders across the lands of Norland. "Grizh-hul, Grizh-hun" he rumbles, before placing it into his travel sack, continuing on through new lands.
  7. Ghuun receives the weekly issue from a snickering goblin, reading it with delight "Grizihubu!" he exclaims "Now this ahm wub mi ahm blahing about".
  8. Shout out to @Shaman for the website and tools he has been cooking up.

  10. "Lots of talk of eating with these folk" he mutters, wandering through those Silver Forests, having fallen from the path a few years back "I wonder if a wizard as powerful as I would be eligible for such a motivated team!"
  11. Wondering how many people chose Naztherak because demons are bad.
  12. Day 5 of not telling anyone that I am doing that thing where you count day by day until something important happens wherein day 5 would be the day that I post telling people that I am doing the day by day thing.

  13. There are a few things that I think should be recognized: 1. We are on a minecraft roleplay server. 2. We are all trying to have fun here. (emphasis on "trying") 3. Selective enforcement of vague rules will almost always feel targeted, especially when the community is small and interconnected. I agree with those that say CAs have consequences, and CA holders should be ready to face those consequences. That being said, I think we often double down on these types of punishments purely for the sake of argument or proving a point. What I think is the issue is that ST could have so easily ruled the other way. What harm would it have caused for ST to give a warning? For ST to have sent the druids in question a message saying - "Please do Y or X will be your consequence". Obviously, nothing requires ST to behave in the aforementioned way BUT I think there were many ways to handle this that were more amicable in nature. That showed that ST are here to work with and promote fun in the community. TLDR: ST could have handled this better. Lets promote fun. It was not important for the community to force PK these players, it was a deliberate interpretation of the rules for an outcome (whether ST desired it or not). I HAVE NO SKIN IN THIS GAME I JUST LIKE TYPING
  14. I don’t think any of these are the “right” answer. Activity stems from those OOC communities that we build. Many players will get involved in any of these types of RP so long as they have a community they enjoy participating in.

      Directly supporting the empire- no

supporting other places under the empire in hopes for them to be free, and also not wanting to be constantly attacked by the majority of the world.

I have characters for their reasons, 2 elves have their reason

@Wizzaryou forget the context of haelunor attempted subjugation of elven kind in at least three different instances over the “lifespan” of elves (think with the 1000 year concept, subjugation has been attempted multiple times in like 400/500 years)

Most elves would be very happy the institution of Haelunor is gone and its policies are being reversed onto them (purity and stuff). People also forget the whole point of the haelunor execution was not for the crime of being elven, it was for harboring undead/mystics and actively aiding them. Where most of their targets were against the empire itself. I understand the wish for unifying against the imperials with the elven liberation front, but the current coalition is based on trying to solely tumble Hadrian and most elves are okay with what he does, especially in most of the main vassals. Even being more complex, siding with the dwarves does mean if they lose, you’re basically wiped off the map. It’s a gamble where people are still choosing sides and allegiances. If they win, great, Imperials are gone, but if the dwarves did lose, it would be met with severe consequences for those that sided with them.

the true elf mentality is to just “wait it out”, immortality from time basically means that inaction is normally the true policy of most elves. They will simply outlive the firecracker era of violence

So the RP massacre of the entirety of Haelunor may be forgiven (or even encouraged)? It seemed quite extreme from an RP perspective. Genuinely curious - I do not know enough about this.

modern hnor was a far cry from anything that represents actual hnor. my character is a 'thill and has watched nothing but the slow intellectual death of their home, the near assimilation into cnor, and the brain-worm plague.

Not to say my character doesn't hate for it, but she puts that hate on the fennics. In her mind - supporting the empire is preferable to being subjugated. But that is the defeatist attitude of knowing that even a united elfdom is dwarfed by human clickers

and yeah, dingo made a good point about waiting it out. hadrians entire lifespan is a fart in a bath, why care that much if you can simply just go find a nice spot in the woods and wait it out?

  17. The missive reaches the gaze of Ghuun of Akaal, a deep breath inhaled and confliction carved into his features. With blood drawn from his threshing inkwell, the blood shaman writes his own missive, posting it only in those caverns that his Akaal brothers and sisters may find. We must hold a meeting - there is much to discuss. Blood and honor guides us as Akaal. Throqugrish is the answer.
  18. It is my belief that roleplay benefits from monk revival and approaching the server with monk revival is an important tool in promoting positive conflict RP.

Looking down on such revival or PKing on every death only promotes powergaming and the avoiding of conflict as players do not want to lose the time and energy they have invested in their characters.

We should actively encourage monk revival AND do our best to put down any stigma associated with using it.

The problem we face is that monk revival IRP encourages people to not RP as their character would realistically. Back in the day, we viewed monk revival as a dice roll. You never knew IRP whether the monks would choose to revive you or not, so we RP'd as if we had a very real chance of dying for good. I don't wanna see people going around saying "I will stand my ground because the monks will just revive me" and kill any consequence of meaningful roleplay. In addition to that, part of building an overarching story is losing. I think players need to be less afraid of losing and more focused on overall story.  I appreciate hearing your take though, love to see dialogue going on the forums. Best wishes.

What your describing actively breaks the only rules on death/monk revival and I pity you if your encountering it in a manner where you believe you are forced to believe this interpretation.

Remember that nobody knows or can allude to monk revival; if your character is presented with the idea that they died heres some ways to explain it:

      - outright denial, claim it must’ve been some form of trick by whoever claims to have killed you

      - say perhaps it was not fatal (i.e. if you went limp during combat) and perhaps someone rescued you but you have no memory of even fighting

      - give some mystical excuse “perhaps Azuras wasn’t done with me- though I have no idea what you mean by me dying I have no recollection of this. I think I would had remembered it.”

another thing is if you die to say a raid of banditing just take NPC status: imagine it wasn’t “exactly” your character who died, then you need not worry about anything

you cannot in any manner whatsoever alude to or acknowledge your own death if you monk revived; the monks will kill you on the spot if you acknowledge them in any way (this is why lore with internal revival systems can only alude to the fact sometimes that they died, because the monks actively forsake those who cheat death beyond them)

They don’t literally go around doing that, I’m more so referring to people who think ”my character wouldn’t be scared to 1v1 a raging olog because he’s been a soldier for 5 years”

it’s simply unrealistic and imo is the equivalent of acknowledging monk revival. In reality your character should fear getting stomped by something but instead they subconsciously know they don’t have to PK so they risk their characters life in ways that are a detriment to quality RP

@PancakehzHow do you feel about 10 year old children wearing full plate armor and having 20 years of medical experience?

  19. A Witch Doctor of Akaal reads over the missive while working his blade with a whetstone. "I did nub realize Ghoraza was missing" Ghuun'Akaal rumbles, placing down his steel to instead sharpen his mind "Akaal will find him. In da meantime, I will assist Maukurz however I can".

What profession wouldn’t like to see an employee with skills in collaboration, creativity, and writing….. any lotc player has built those skills just by playing, and others have furthered them through contributions to various staff teams (CT with customer service, tech with tech, mod/admin with management and conflict resolution, etc….)

Lotc is 100% a great toolbox if you know how to utilize it. Once I stopped being embarrassed by something I love to do so much it’s become way easier to be open about the things it’s taught me :)

  21. The Hûn ob Grish reads the missive before shredding it with his unnatural claws. Ghuun'Akaal withdraws his blade wrought of haruspexy, symbols of his kin's ancient tongue decorating its form. The shaman unfurls his hand, cutting into a few of his digits, using his crimson to write a missive of his own. Tupaq. We slaughtered you once. We will slaughter you again. Your blood will fill our feasting pits, and with your own blood, we will write the stories of your failings. The light of Akaal will consume the Tawantinsuyin. Come and die. As he finished, the uruk was unrecognizable. His brown skin had darkened to a blackish gray. His light brown eyes now a vicious crimson. His maw elongated in a sickening fashion, stretching unnaturally so to reveal dagger-like teeth. And so, he sent the missive out, knowing it will find those who challenge his kin. Signed, Ghuun'Akaal, Elder of Clan Akaal, Hûn ob Grish, Disciple of Krathol, Roth ob Grishubu

  23. Perhaps the issue is that Eidola's without the correct augments cannot siphon a soul without killing. That being said, this is seems to break lore and Menhir logic to solve a potential problem that could likely be solved in better ways. I do not think this is a good change.

    PACT OF METAL

PACT OF METAL The ritual swallowed the orc in darkness. Darkness was replaced by a lustrous, steel room. His feet pressed against the cold plates of the floor. Before he moved to explore his surroundings, liquid metal poured from the ceiling, twisting and forcing itself into the shaman, casting him as a chrome statue. A figure emerged from the mirror-like surface, a jagged monolith of steel. It glided forward toward the encased orc. Carving into the statue with knife-like digits, the orc was granted vision, hearing, and the ability to speak. “Shatraug ob ghaamp , amat kramp-lat skaat?” (Witch of Stone, why do you come?) “Gothûrz frûm ob golnauk, skaat- izg u golm lat izubu grish agh izubu dulug” (Powerful spirit of steel, I come to offer you my blood and my weapon) “Ghung lat shulg- âdh- ghaamp, amat shulg-kaan-izg lat?” (If you would leave earth, why would I trust you?) "Dhurz nargzab- izg a maaz bot agh u nar kul-ob the gûg" Because I want a better world and to not to be of the past. The spirit considered the offer in silence. “Larg, draaghzûr, agh bhadûr narmok golnauk agh golnauk bhadûrs lat. Broshan.” (Create, destroy, and change for steel and steel will change you. Welcome) It spread its massive arms and continued forward. The spirit walking directly into the orc, enveloping him in darkness once more. The orc awakes before his cauldron.
