  1. Really cool magic and niche in general +1
  2. "That the world's mages are chasing shadows is a great indicator of their average competence."
  3. [!] An elf awakes from a bad dream.
  4. Lanre Cerusil hates blood mages. At least he had heard the great words of Darius Mareno - what an inspiring figure that was.
  5. "I'm going to have to pretend like I didn't hear him talk about how Ivarielle betrayed him now, I guess."
  6. So Erm Are We Forgetting About This Beautifully Balanced And Well Designed Lore Can We Accept This Already
  7. Lanre Cerusil awaits the presence of Vyllaenen and Valyris Wynasul with bated breath!
  8. I know what you are Jentos, you did Varg rp
  9. Lanre Cerusil lies on the cold, hard ground, pondering the facets of life beyond his comprehension.
  10. Water blast push is a bit too strong compared to every effect like it in other magics 2 emote ranged attacks should not be a thing in any lore, especially voidal ones which would allow you to cast every emote Water shield change is fine
  11. Lanre Cerusil almost feels kind of bad.
  12. I really like the idea of cultivation magic and the model you've set up for it, but I will say that it doesn't fit very well into being a Voidal magic since its effects are largely strictly positive and enhancing (regardless of how hard they are to actually obtain) as opposed to the ordinary style of Voidal things wherein even things like Scion which do allow the body's strength back absolutely destroy the mind. Also, to be honest some of the cores seem a bit strong, such as the one that is capable of increasing strength beyond racial peak. It also feels more like a feat than a magic. It seems to me like the best use of this magic would be simply taking it on its own without any other voidal magics, which doesn't feel to good (if we want it to be a voidal magic) Generally although cultivation is cool, allowing extremely strong final strengths of lore just because they are hard to attain is generally disastrous. People will obtain the highest level and be OP. Honestly I would encourage writing this as a non-Voidal magic and trying to theme it that way and see if that helps the balance things- if you want to keep it Voidal, I would recommend sticking with the cultivation idea but scrapping the concept of purely strengthening the body and try to make it something that augments casting or the connection, while keeping in mind not to allow too great of strengths just because they are hard to obtain.
  13. HOLLLLY SHIITTTT I WANT TO CULTIVATE it doesnt really make sense tho, at least in terms of the niche its actually fulfilling
  14. The problem is the spell reads 'Should it be directed towards a target’s face, they will be temporarily blinded for up to [2] emotes afterwards' meaning that as written this spell always works. Obviously you can't apply it to the largest leaps of logic (such as things whose eyes couldn't possibly be sand-blinded or Seers who don't require their eyes to see) but with many spells seeming to have their spell-effect resolved 'instantaneously' and lacking counterplay, an instant-disable spell like this is really tough and needs much more clarification than is in the lore.
  15. For the second redline I just wanted to clarify the line at which blinding is no longer possible so it isn't argued every single time.
  16. Sand blast has little counterplay and is typically not fun for any parties involved in combat. This amendment does not make the base power of the spell weaker but weakens the all-encompassing nature of the spell as a complete and instant disable. Original: New:
  17. I don't think conflict is particularly worse than it ever has been. If anything, the development and release of new conflict systems has led to a surge in conflict, while other aspects of the server, such as ST, have fallen far behind simultaneously. I don't think mods are at fault for any 'poor handling' of conflict. I think they do fine given a tough job. It is simply that there is not much else to do in LOTC at the moment. Eventlines are rather scarce, and the ones that I've seen hosted are essentially equivalent to player events. The world is not immersive, and you cannot find quality RP without being within a particular RP group. It is true that the new conflict systems cause nations to be more based around conflict and less around pure RP, but I wholeheartedly believe that if this was supplemented by a more active, living, and breathing world, that no one would think it too much of a problem. I don't think that being raided every once in a while is the death of RP. The current raid cooldowns are pretty sufficient. On the other hand, ST definitely needs to be jumpstarted, but I do not know if that means that there is an inherent issue of the server contained there.
  18. I will die for the greed of humanity. My last heartbeat can be a streak upon the canvas that you weave for yourself.
  19. Find something to say that doesn't have real-life implications or is a direct real-life term, and don't rp with OOCly racist intent. It's pretty obvious with recent stuff that people are using certain terms because they think it's funny to do a racist dogwhistle to whoever they're laughing with in VC. Don't do RP that will make people uncomfortable. I don't think the 'line to draw' conversation really needs to exist because it only really ever becomes a problem when people who RP racism don't respect the comfort of the people they are RPing with, either by insisting OOCly that they must be able to act in a racist manner because 'it's rp' or by simply ignoring the discomfort showed by the other party, unless it's the case that the issue is escalated. If you follow these rules, not using any terms with OOC significance, and the other party is made uncomfortable by your non-rule-breaking RP then just stop RPing like that in your session and apologize. (Sidenote: The term 'spook' might be a unique rule to this, since it has widespread use in real life as a term separate to its archaic usage as an offensive term)
  20. I love MRP! Thank you mods for this classification change, my immersion is rising through the roof. Stop hating!

  21. I appreciate this name change to MRP. If you're the admin who necessitated this name change in order to approve these changes, just know you've been duped.
  22. "He must have failed to account for the third possibility where the lorewriters named the stuff then people powergamed knowing their names." Thus proclaims a sorcerer!
