The City-State of Alras [The Merchant Nation of Alras, Alrasia, The High Kingdom] Animal of the State: Ram I. The Province of the City-State of Alras The City-State of Alras, Established originally by Overseer Algoda as Kal’Alras, now officially declares its Sovereignty once again, re-emerging and establishing itself within the Fringe of Anthos. Under the Guidance of the High King Syrio Forel, the First of his Name, and the official declaration written and signed by The Viceroy, Sage Kalen Forseth. The City-State of Alras follows the leadership of it’s High King, who stands as the single ruler of Alrasia. His right hand, dubbed Viceroy, writes official decrees, manages the High Council, and attends the duties of the High King for when he is out of Court. Underneath the High King and the Viceroy stands the High Council, comprised of six individuals of skill who manage the High King’s affairs individually. The City-State of Alras prospers off of Commerce, and welcomes all Traders and Tradesmen alike. The City is always open to coin and goods alike, and aims to bring about an age of prosperity for all those who would do business with it. Alras opens it’s doors to all, Coin is the best language it knows. Taxes are non-existent within the City-State, and all are welcome. II. The Court of Alras The Powers of the state are single handedly in the hands of it’s Monarch, the High King. The Viceroy operates as an extension to the High King, and the Council manages the affairs of the City-State as needed. The High King’s word is Law, and he holds the office for Life or resignation. A High King is the de-facto head of Alras, his word holds complete sway. The Viceroy is also tied to his/her High King, and can only be removed by the High King himself. He can appoint High Council members, rework High Council Ranks, and should there ever be a tie between the High King and the High Council, the Viceroy takes a vote, counting as the tiebreaker. He acts in the stead of the High King (Minus certain privileges) when the High King is Absent from court. The High Council of Alras is appointed by the High King and his Viceroy. It is comprised of Six individuals and manages the day-to-day affairs of the City-State. They hold absolute authority, each as an extension of the High King’s rule. III. The Laws of Alras The High King’s Word is Law. All within the City-State are subject to the Laws, regardless of ranking inside of Alras or anywhere else. Violating the Law on Alrasian soil will be handled severely. A Trial may only be called by a high council member, the Viceroy, or The High King. A trial assesses the validity of the accused crime. Any rank of the above can also hold a Trial to question previous verdicts. The High King or Viceroy oversee the trial. The High Court can enact punishment as needed for violating the Laws. The High Laws of Alras Conducting or assisting in any of the following acts break the upper tiers of Law, and will be handled harshly; Arson, Treason, Assault, Murder, High Theft, High Vandalism, High Deception, Resisting Arrest, Refusing Punishment, Violating Banishment, Royal Slander, Slavery, Kidnapping, Rape The Lower Laws of Alras Conducting or assisting in any of the following acts break the lower tiers of Law, and will be handled properly; Theft, Deception, Vandalism, Breaking & Entering, Brandishing Weapons without Permit, Wanton misuse of Magic, Littering, using Narcotics, disrupting the Peace Punishment High Crimes: Any one or more of the following; Execution, High Fines, Banishment, Forced Labor, Seizing of the Guilty parties’ possessions. Nobility of Alras Nobility in the City-State is different from that of other Nations. Within Alras birth ties are not recognised, each is expected to earn their own ways of life. As such the ‘Nobility’ of Alras applies to the select few outstanding citizens of the City-State who have proven themselves in one, or many ways. Those who earn nobility stand as political advisors, gain access to larger plots of land, and hold sway with the council. Being promoted to these elite few is a great honor, and once promoted the Noble serves for life, and is honored in the records. However, due to Nobility being earned only the one who has earned the right to it is considered ‘Noble’, it is not a title that is passed down to children nor do all of the Noble’s family gain that title. The Gentleman The Gentleman embodies the ideals Alras holds toward others. He is the charmer, the ease talker, and the respectful man. He treats others as he expects them to treat him and is never hesitant to offer a hand to those in need. Just as he is respectful, however, he expects those he is respectful to to return his investment. A gentleman handles scores properly, and appropriately. He believes in wealth of Culture II. The Scholar The Scholar embodies those who put knowledge before all else. The Scholar seeks wisdom and knowledge evenly, and seeks to further himself by understanding the difference between the two. What Are Our Server Specs?
501warhead replied to no longer active's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
The server is hosted by another company (don't remember which one) and has 64 gigs of dedicated RAM. I know no other tech details besides that. The server barely uses over 20% of ram at any time, and above that is unusual, rare, and usually gets an instant restart. -
One Less Ascended Sage
501warhead replied to Zarsies's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
Hey guys, just popping by on a mobile phone to confirm the above. Without warning I lost a stable internet service and may not be around for a bit. I'm trying to stay in touch occasionally but for an unknown amount of time I will be offline Hope to see you soon, Kalen -
The REGA has been established, and is more than happy to interact with the Dwarven Engineer's guild. The Royal Engineers Guild of Alras is the successor to the AEG, The Alrasian Engineer's Guild. Both are established under the Royal Engineer of Alras, Kalen T. Forseth, and employs any eager engineers to create an institution dedicated to learning, creation, and master of Engineering. The guild is founded in Alras but intends to serve all nations to an extent.

I don't mind the 4 nations, however I would personally say to put a threshhold for when something can be made a "Nation" and get the perks that come with it, emerald pillar, subforum, mine, etc. This thresh hold I believe should be high, and something to aim for. I believe it should require a decent amount of active players, and a decent amount of money. Obviously I'm here representing Alras, saying what I will in it's benefit, but TBH most of our complaints are just summed up to nothing being clearly outlined, I personally, and many others, would work extremely hard to match a requirement. I would even enjoy the process, I love earning things, but at the moment lotc feels land-locked, like there isn't any room to grow or change. There's 4 nations which are GM mandated and all the other groups cropping up seem to just begin to eat weedkiller slowly. Also one system for making this functional is outlining how a nation can 'Fall' persay, a hard scenario to reach but if it was matched it could be disbanded and lose it's perks, this would apply to even the four racials. Why? Because the server should support dynamic RP, RP that changes how the world works, where the RP hubs end up shifting. The main issue with the current system is a nature of 'well, we're always going to be here.'

A wood elf dawned in green robes of the times of Age past pauses at the speech. Overhearing the cries in the forest he had approached the clearing to hear a bit better but as he listened to the proud declaration something snapped in the now homeless elf, all pride nearly long gone. In a moment the nature that flourished around his brow and wrists fell to the ground, to be trod upon as the Mali'ume moves to be one of the first to bend his knee, tears flowing to the ground as he sees the vision of his kin being great once more. He reaches down, grabbing a bit of a scrap of bronze and fixes it to his robe.

Dat media team. on a serious note, the teams I personally felt did the best was App team, their job isn't too hard and they do it. 10/10 for them, they get the job done. Administrators are there to keep staff in check and drive the server, we've been going in a good direction for quite a while. GM team is the best it's been in quite a while. -

A figure walking through an arcane place suddenly stops, his pace halted. He turns his hooded face, veiled in darkness, to his right and then his left, before looking over his shoulder. Noticing nothing he moves onward about his business, but shaking his head he knew rest would not come easy tonight...

[War] To Put Down The Diseased
501warhead replied to PtahWithin's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
The hooded figure at the table looks to Ptah with a heavy heart, head bowed. "It is sad it has come to this... Where did it all go wrong?" he asks to no one in particular -
A Wizard's Thoughts
501warhead replied to Blundermore's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
A hooded figure adorned in blue and white stands underneath the now long corrupted, fallen tower. His face is shrouded in darkness as he takes a glimpse up, but his stature seems to give off an aura of grief and remorse... He looks down, scenes and memories playing from a time long past... The moments looking out over the lake from the tower, the moments of debating with the old wizard. As he stands there the remorse begins to crush him, with words unspoken filling his mind. He begins to make his way away from the tower when he hears something... turning his head he begins to notice lights in the woods that once led to the farmlands of Malinor in ages past. He turns around slowly, and as the song begins to play he sits down in the grass... these same wisps of light for day after day would every night sing their song to the tower. What was once a joyous chorus has now become haunting melody, with memories of what once was... but even still, when the figure left there was a smile peeking out underneath the hood. ((EDIT: Included song! Ignore the video, but listen to it if you will!)) ((Second edit: Song gets weird half way through, sorry 'bout dat. It smooths out toward the end.)) -
Kalen walks up to the location of the portal to enter Blundermore's tower and notices the large hole. Confused, he walks over to the lakeshore to look up at the tower and notices it missing. "Ah, looks like blundermore is going on another adventure... Although he took my lab with him... and my journal... hm... Eh, he did fine during the Custard Adventure, hopefully he'll be back in time for tea and I'll be quite put off if he is not. He makes too good of tea to be taking long adventures..."

Kalen slowly wanders over to the sign in his travels, he notices a word that brands itself into his memory from afar. He dashes over to the parchment and nearly rips it from it's place. "I can.. I can't believe... This is a day for celebration!" Kalen draws from his coat a bottle of wine, uncorking it in excited haste, and downs the bottle in one go. Kalen stumbles away from the sign, the first time drunk in his long life. Tears fall onto the gravel road as he sways back and forth with a big, silly grin on his face.

Pirates - A Real And Terrible Danger
501warhead replied to jtucker40's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
Rathen approaches the board and shakes his head, utterly confused and muttering to himself "What? We've never even raided a vessel... how are we pirates? And how did this fool sail through rapids and destroyed over half of our fleet to find our island? Even more so, we've never called ourselves pirates... Joy, another fool spouting non-sense... We've never even crossed Oren..." Rathen walks away, shaking his head at the injustice done to him and his fleet. -
From the South various doves fly, a white glint against the dark sky. They flee, bye and bye, heading to where their destinies lie. Those that notice these birds stop and stare, for they are quite rare. Within their beaks rests a silver scroll, bearing a message of that which has been foretold. They each land, one by one, In different spots beneath the sun. A glowing aura, a collar of bronze, Felt only by magical ones. Those with the gift, heeding the call, May converge within temple walls. "If you found this, you are being called. With recent events in light and the fragments within our minds calling to a gathering we shall begin it soon, lest our opportunity slip away. We request that you make your way post-haste to the Library of the Cloud Temple within the next elven day so that we may better understand this calling. In good Graces, Arcanologist Kalen Forseth, Acolyte of the Order of the Mongoose." ((Forgive the brevity, but I do not have much time to write this and it needed to be made. I would state reasons, etc. but writing I would not finish it in time then.))

An Ascension To The High Council
501warhead replied to TwilightWolf's topic in Anthos Roleplay Archive
Kalen walks by, barely paying attention to the commotion until he hears the knife thud, upon which he turns slightly to investigate, and notices the message. "Hm... So they even let psychopaths into the High Council now? Well..." Kalen stops for a moment, Remembering Mayctor. "Nevermind." Kalen continues on, already forgotten the commotion. -
[✓] [Awaiting Mat Review] Cognitism
501warhead replied to PtahWithin's topic in Outdated Lore Archives
Well, -cough- human. (nudges Elindor on his common term, which does not fully apply to lotc ; P). The logic I see behind this topic is that with this it gets to the point where it's very thought heavy, to the point that what you are doing is thinking so hard you gain inspiration. It's like trying to think of what you're going to write for a report that can be anything from A to Z but you want to make it good, or when you want to impress your boss with your idea on a topic. Only this is tenfold, essentially what you are doing is reworking your subconscious to give you an idea, by tricking it, essentially. Oh, and I'm new to the thread so I'll go ahead and state my opinion, I want this. This makes a lot of sense to me, and seems to be something that science-minded characters would seek to gain, bridging the gap between science and magic(which... I want. Stop making realistic items like steam power, get magic, be creative! : s), if only slightly. It would add interesting RP to a scene, and allow more visual aids when working with building and other various items, or possibly assembling a device, creating a full three-dimensional "hologram" of the item I'm making and using it like a blueprint, etc. Overall love the concept, and I believe it's solid as it stands. EDIT: I don't speak for ptah, but have spoken to him and have a decent understanding of his concepts. Through meditation the character does not become "god-like", he merely can have a revelation. This is a simple "inspiration" that could be anything, basically it's like praying to a god to give you an idea, one assumes that if they fail, it would be insanity, should they be incapable of turning it off. However, if you disable the spectator mind(Was confusing for me at first, Spectator mind - believes illusions are real and thus allows cognatism, normal mind can't believe illusions are true but is necessary for sanity) before anything happens, you will be fine. As far as the vision goes, cognats would possibly be capable of rendering in motion events that happened in their subconscious, but only what they have seen in the past. It would be clearer to them than it would be to normal beings accessing a memory, but would not reveal anything that you would not have seen. AKA I can see the front of the building of my childhood, but not the back, because I did not see the back at that time. -
The old man whacks danny on the head with his cane "Stop teasin' em sonny!" he says, and then smiles a small knowing smile.

Announcement Of A King's Council Re-Election
501warhead replied to Zezimus's topic in Elysium and Kalos Roleplay Archive
((MC Name:)) 501warhead Name: Kalen Forseth Age: 1452 Current title (If any): N/A The position you wish to run for: Master Engineer Why you feel you would be fit for this position: In my past I have lived in positions that allowed me some forms of creative freedom with what I wanted to do. Under this, I became an engineer. I, in my past, have become a master in this field, and the forerunner in it. I am an accomplished shipwright, being the sole designer and creator of King Syrio's Beard, the infamous ship. I have mastered mathematics, and designed whole cities using it, Alras was built under my formulas. I am, as most engineers are, a master of redstone, creating vaults, and circuits with over 23 different inputs and 12 different outputs. As a siege engineer I excel, I am the sole original creator of the infamous device the world dubbed "Cannons", Jed Goldrush was my apprentice. My former title was Royal Engineer of Alras, Head and founder of the A.E.G., the Alrasian Engineers Guild, which has notable names such as Jed Goldrush and Raeg have presided. My stance is that I, having the experience I have, would be a great asset to the nation of Kal'Urguan, more so than previous holders of the title "Master Engineer".
