  1. I've been on the ET for just over a month, straight on as a manager. Just to give you a point of reference my dear friend
  2. Not asking you to forgive anything. Bad decisions have been made and we should be called out on them. Just saying from my point of view that we got fucked by changes forced on staff, but can't have that as an excuse for how **** has been. @Malgonious There's not much I can say to what you wrote except that a large chunk of it is inaccurate. Otherwise you nearly baited me so good job
  3. Thanks @Abyssus . Really appreciate the heads up on here. Also I do love a public spectacle, please tag me next time. I post on lore because I feel as I can comment on it as a player before I have to put on my “lore writer” cap and then have to review pieces. I de-construct and give feedback during lore-mags against pieces I vote for, contrary to the rumors around how I deal with things. My personal opinion is that I do believe in the said scenario that necromancers are beating a dead horse, and I thought it was a funny gif to post. Yes, I’m a *****. You’ve got me there and I really enjoyed your quote I had a good laugh at it. To the other points, I’m sure Delmo herself can explain better than I can since I’m just a lowly LT pleb. edit: also thinking you’d get in trouble for name dropping is probably a bad mentality to have. I’m happy to get named and blasted publically if people think I’m doing the wrong thing
  4. people don’t want to actually roleplay and a majority of them take up mantles of dark magic. they abuse them and otherwise create ooc webs of intrigue which are pathetic and not interesting to be involved in. I will preach that the main problem with most pieces of dark magic lore are the players, not the pieces themselves. It’s a shame that those attracted to that darker style of rp are counter-productive to the concept.
  5. Sorry Delmo to hijack but I can mention this. The team was in an insane state of disarray since late last map considering the merges, mass removals and other factors. I'd like to say I'm fixing the problems of the past as outlined in my other update. My priority is to not have events be unknown to the playerbase, but for the playerbase to have ample time to participate in them. My update post outlines the general direction I'm taking the event sect. I'm wishful in being able to deliver but we'll see
  6. This depends on the context. 99% of the time I don’t believe “private” events where an ET are removing others from participating just to isolate the event to certain people. There’s always the idea that sometimes players come into events to actively raid, troll and **** around with those players during an arranged event which should be discouraged at the very least. But a majority of the time, every event should have the ability for anyone to get involved. I’m happy to reprimand people who exclusively shut events to people for little to no reason.
  7. (also good jab at me for the comment i made on your lore x ) Yes, because what personalised hunt events are used for 99% of the time is for some beneficial loot gain that’s staff endorsed. I’m saying this in regards to more mundane creatures and I’ll be releasing a ‘guideline’ post on what players cannot play themselves to ensure there is no confusion. There’s been quite a few events being ran compared to the last few months, we’re constantly improving and trying to make it so the server receives more meaningful eventlines that spark more roleplay. We’ve had concepts of event areas before which have went quite well, @Temp himself has ran quite a few as have I with Mordskov. The habitat idea is just to centralise bounties and create a longer lasting impact to those that interact with the area. Former hunting grounds and failures recorded in the build, while successes can be seen in how the environment relates to it. We do not encourage people “playing the hero” and it is genuinely a backwards way to look at events now. I’m at the forefront and will ensure that events aren’t fed to singular playerbases and everyone that wishes to have an opportunity in an event will be able to. Though, thank you for your feedback. It’s genuinely appreciated as I’m trying to make things work. If the ideas do not work out, I do encourage you to openly trash the direction and concept. I’d rather get a vocal outburst if I make a mistake instead of people just dawdling along and going with whatever I say.
  8. i normally don’t read lore but the tl;dr is you somehow picked every aspect i want to execute from blood magic and put it in a singular post at least this’ll help people who are trying to rewrite it for the lore games.
  9. June - The Month of Poor War Decisions, Admin Picks and General Chaos - An ET/ST Update Hello, it’s ScreamingDingo once again. I did mention I’d be a bit more transparent with the current workings of the team so I thought I’d create this post. So in the build up to the launching of the ‘Lore Games’, the ET has been in the process of a slow rebuilding which I believe we’re completely launched and ready to go. As mentioned in my last post, I have launched “Bounty Boards” again with the inclusion of a habitat system. This seems pretty confusing to some players, so I’ll explain the purpose of what these habitats are there for. Event Habitats - Event habitats are places on the map where monster encounters and small bits of map lore info are released periodically. There is normally one area focused within this, and it currently is the southern jungle expanse. Or ‘Duulgador’. This is essentially a hub event place for ET to try new techniques, be trained and otherwise for the players themselves to experiences hunts and other novelties which were provided previously by “request. With the specific bounties, certain populations of creatures grow weekly and will eventually combat with the environment surrounding them. This hasn’t launched with “fantastic” success, but it’s been successful enough for me to keep this project around to eventually refine it into something better and more streamlined for both our staff and our players. The problem with hunt requests So, what’s happened as of recent is a massive influx of /sreqs regarding personal hunts. I’m here to orientate my team towards creating more meaningful event-chains, so with that I will be abolishing the use of these reqs to request personal hunts. What people do forget is that they’re able to play wolves and stuff for trials by themselves, you do not need staff support to hand-hold you through your own personal roleplay. Though take such permission with a grain of salt, if I see people doing obvious things that’d break lore or people playing scaddernaks, I will use my own LT authority to string you up like a puppet. The protocol with /sreq should be to ask to interact with a site you’ve found in game. DO NOT put in a request if the event area is not interactable or doesn’t have any signs to denote it being an event area. All this does is clog up story requests and create a mess to clean up daily because of people recklessly using requests. Specifically to NLs and faction leaders, you CAN use the event proposal form to request certain events or even try to gain the interest of an ET to help you. This is all up to the ET if they wish to take these, I will not force them to take any requests they do not wish to. The sub-forum is in the link below, please utilise it if you’re that desperate for events. I’ll answer any questions on this post that you want to be asked. This is on behalf of the Event Sect of the ST, as much as I could talk about how great lore is and when it’s being shelved, it’s not the intent of this post.
  10. You’re right, I’m going to quickly readjust this oversight. Thank you for your contributions!
  11. GARUMIDIR’S SPEAKERS Artwork by static-ghost Origin/Backstory- For eons, descendant-kind has struggled with the ability of communication, the use of couriers and letters non-existent ever since the days where the four brothers originally fell ill to curses. Communication now is buried within the confines of druidic corruption, where birds are manipulated to break their nesting habits and to act as relays. With this, the Daemon Garumidir placed the innate ability of the ‘M-3-4-A B.I.R.D’ within every descendant, an invention which can be awakened by visions that truly sets apart the gaps of communication the descendants have had in the years they have dwelled within the Aos/Eos. Finally, the first visions of Garumidir’s influence have now rocked the descendants to their core. The absence of communication is now a thing of the past, the communication era is now. Description. The invention is a small clock-work bird that is bound to a user through a conduit of soul-connection. These creatures are linked with the enigmatic constructs of soul-stones, being able to be recalled and sent at will. It’s a serious of clockwork measures and deific runes which enable this small bird to be able to fly at speeds that are immeasurable to most, almost teleporting. Also, it carries a voice modulator which is able to mimic the owner of the bird. The constructs themselves can be customised to the owner, they are able to take the shape of any avian bird as long as it does not surpass the height of four inches. Mini-dragons, phoenixes and a variety of other creatures can be mimiced with the speakers of Garumidir. Capabilities. This ties in with the above section and you are meant to cover what the invention is capable of doing. Garumidir’s creations are able to do a variety of things. They are able to teleport anywhere across the map with an ample amount of time (one emote after sending). This is because of Garumidir’s will, his intent is to ensure that communication is never limited They are able to transcribe messages to people, it takes a single emote to have the voice modulator adjust to the message. They are also telepathic, allowing for the transmission of messages as long as someone is not in combat. They are immune to environmental conditions and are able to get through any space possible. The creatures are able to disassemble themselves and reform in different areas to ensure communication is allowed. To have these birds be made and connected to your soul-stone it takes a single emote to retrieve, then a single emote to send off. They innately know the location of every single descendant and living organism in the realm, hence being able to be sent off with a simple command.\ Even with their insane speeds, three emote rounds are needed for the bird to be sent to their respective location. For even though Garumidir wants to make communication seamless, he cannot break the pre-conceived techlock that he’s been restricted by. Red Lines/Restrictions. This invention does not require a special app. Every descendant has the ability to innately envision and recreate this clock-work structure. (Kha and Hou-zi are unable to do so. Furries are disallowed in Garumidir’s will) The rules for these birds follow the exact same rules as current messaging systems. You must follow the same emote progression. One to call, one to write and then one to send off. These birds cannot transport anything other than messages These birds cannot be used for combative purposes, the moment you do this. Garumidir himself will smite you and you will die. (PK clause attached to using these in combat) You cannot perform sexual acts to this creation, no matter the context. Even shaping your bird to be that of sexual nature will have you be disallowed from using this. (PK Clause is attached for FTB’ing with these) Purpose This piece was made to justify the bullshit that is messaging. This allows everyone to have a lore friendly way to abuse things that are not part of lore, unless they’re a druid. This instead creates an insane amount of roleplay and justification for the mess of rules we have. Citation Spoiler. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/165192-✓-garumdir-the-daemon-of-craftsmanship-and-innovation/ Edit Log - 26/6/19 Reduced the amount of emotes required to three as in-lieu with the server standards.
