Deep within the cold reaches of a mountain on Kalos, a cave is sealed away with a heavy iron door. A book lays on a table, next to a set of surgical equipment. Without flesh, a person's blood would have nowhere to flow, and they would be vulnerable. Without blood, the heart and soul cannot pump warmth throughout the body. Without bones, the body would collapse. They all are required for life. And so these ingredients must be gathered to create life, must they not? There are a few other things that a body needs. The heart is made of flesh, and it houses the spirit. It pumps blood through the body. The lungs allow a person to breathe the fresh air of the world. The stomach, and intestines, convert the food one consumes into energy, dumping the excess as waste. All necessary components. And so I gather only the finest of them, from among the living and dead of our world. Notes on Necromancy From what I have gathered about this art, it is my answer to the conundrum of my work. A resurrected being does not have the imperfection of willpower that living beings do. I must seek out a necromancer and learn from them. My creations will walk the earth. A hooded figure passes by a still-standing poster, where the note "seemingly scrawled in blood" still remains. He sniffs, recognizing the stench of dried blood, shaking his head, thinking how stupid that person is to write in dried blood. It's been done before. He reads the statement, claiming the White Rose as an "unofficial military organization of Oren", and can't help but laugh out loud. He wipes a few tears of hilarity from his eyes, and continues on his way, thinking how some people should do their research before being idiots.

Four of them are made of wood, and the other four are coated in a short-term paralyzing poison. House Briarwood, for its loyalty to Duke Harrion of Westfall, has been granted a County, and thus the Thornguard hold a bit a higher position. We have land and holdings now, and thus others who would wish to fight against those who defile the Creator's name should be encouraged to join.

((Currently a WIP, but feel free to fill out the application or contact me In Game, merrymoogle)) The Thornguard are the active "military" of House Briarwood. They are a special team of fighters, trained and equipped to deal with heretics and users of dark magic, as well as reconnaissance missions. They are at the command of Marcus Briarwood, usually being dispatched to aid Oren's other military groups in dealing with these types of foes. A Thornguard, specializing in heavy, close quarters combat. Another Thornguard variant, this one specializing in light armor, and quick strikes from close and from afar. As you can see, the Thornguard accepts almost all fighting types, including magic users. They may all be different, but they have one thing in common: Devotion to the Creator, and devotion to their task of cleansing the world of heretics alike. The Thornguard have a few weapons they commonly use. Crossbows are a staple, and there are a few different types of bolts used. There are normal, steel bolts, the average ammunition. Then there are two special kinds: bolts with wooden tips, that can be lit on fire, and bolts coated in nonlethal, paralyzing poison (Curare, to be exact. Wikipedia it for the details). Most Thornguard are equipped with some kind of blade, whether it be a rapier, dagger, axe, or large sword. The Thornguard have an Oath that they must swear upon initiation. Blessed be he, The Creator His Radiance shines upon me So that my blows Against those who threaten His Glory May strike true And strike with his Righteous Fury. I devote myself to protecting His Name From the Horrors that dare defile His Sanctity. I accept His Generosity, His Forgiveness, So that all sins I may have committed shall be Absolved upon my taking of this oath. Blood! Blood for the Creator! Initiate : Members who have spent only about a month. They usually do not take part in missions, only observing if they ever do. After their training, a member takes one of two roles: Hunter : Lightweight armor. Trained in stealth, one-handed weapons, ranged weapons, and agility. Slayer : Heavy armor. Trained in two-handed weapons, strength, endurance, and sometimes magic, but this is only if they pursue the art themselves. Upon reaching a certain amount of time served, and being a veteran of a variety of missions, a member ascends to the position of "High ___", depending on the role they chose.
