  1. Paul Salvian Temesch et Moere is struck by sudden inspiration. Upon returning with the new scandal-sheet to Temesch, he makes a very moving painting and sends it to a few of his closest friends.
  2. THE IMPERIAL AND ROYAL BROTHERHOOD OF SAINT PONTIFF EVERARD IV The IMPERIAL AND ROYAL BROTHERHOOD OF SAINT PONTIFF EVERARD IV, or the ORENIAN ASSOCIATION OF SOLICITORS, HISTORIANS, AND PHILOSOPHERS, is the governing body of lawyers, educators, and authors throughout the varied iterations of the Orenian tradition, historically responsible for the certification of solicitors, attorneys, and professors of history and law. In the modern day, its membership is instead granted by nomination to those members of Orenian society that have been noted for their achievements or intellectual acumen. All members of the brotherhood are recognized by the traditional ‘SSE’ after their names, a relic of the ancient Society of Saint Everard from which it claims descent. Founded by the scholar-king Edward von Herendul in 1485, they were originally tasked in preventing the loss of history following the chaotic falls of the Chivay and Carrion regimes, where pogroms against rival faiths and peoples led to mass destruction. Book burnings, killing of learned men, and the destruction of ancient relics were commonplace, and even after, the conflicting ambitions of humanity has led to countless tragedies in the wanton chaos. Founding Members Edward von Herendul - 1485 Paul de Monteforte - 1487 St Otto Heinzreich - 1487 Lucius Tython - 1487 Fabian Virosi - 1487 The brotherhood takes its name from doubly the ancient Saint Everard, a stalwart defender of the Church and learning from the luddite Sheffield monarchy, and the more modern Saint Pontiff Everard IV, champion of learning and erudite thinking. Its styling, Imperial and Royal, is indicative of its existence as a staple of Orenian tradition regardless of the nation's status, imperial or royal. Previous iterations of the Brotherhood have included the Imperial Everardine College, the Imperial Association of Saint Pontiff Everard IV, and, of course, the Society of Saint Everard. MEMBERS OF OUR BROTHERHOOD, or the Royal Bar, are those individuals granted by royal declaration or internal nomination certification as historians, educators, philosophers, or, historically, solicitors. Largely unrelated to individual achievements, the award has historically been correlated to the intellectual circles and affairs otherwise of the Orenian state - its brothers often serving in advisory or otherwise bureaucratic positions within the nation - as well as those families that have historically served within its government. Uniquely, membership has even been extended to extranational humans of renown, and while it may not be declined, one may withdraw from the Brotherhood at will. Among the items on the docket are the governing constitution - that is, how future nominations to membership will occur - the election of the next president of the brotherhood, and, among other matters, the morality of standing alongside Orkish pagans in defense of an otherwise civilized island-state. 4. I'm glad this was rewritten/reformatted because when I read the original lore I thought it was shang-chi 10 rings magic. Side note, for latching - if someone 'catches' the projectile, so they only take the impact but don't get burned - do you not also have to define the strength of the impact of a fireball/other spells? How heavy is a fireball in this context? Is it the impact of a fireball exploding or just the impact of the ball if it were to hit as a ball and bounce off? Redline for this seems kind of easy to get past. Side side note - Is the only requirement for Passive to be able to breathe? Orbit redline is being able to use Passive Resonance, but say someone is T4 and able to use it near-effortlessly - this means there's no way to force a deactivation of passive resonance? Or does Orbit/other passive use turn into Aggressive Resonance in a combat situation (as combat encounter resonance is always Aggressive) even if it's being used to carry something?

  6. My original hope (I proposed hubs btw...) was that they would be tiny things, little more than carts or single "setting" buildings, put equidistant from every nation on a map around the size of Arcas. I thought Arcas as a map sans the wilds would be perfectly large enough. When the map expanded, run times expanded, and having three nations to a hub made their equidistant point equally a pain in the butt to get to their capitals from (especially those with larger tiles like Elvenesse or further like Nland). If map was not so large, and the hubs were what they were originally meant to be (like a small ruined monastery between haense and oren or something instead of a tile-sized farming zone full of stuff and right between the point of contact of the two nations) I still believe they would have been successful. Another issue with hubs though is that they were originally supposed to be moveable based on where best made sense for RP and player movement. As we all know, they never got moved this map, so a potential advantage was erased. I personally like the idea of a giant stick-shaped map with three hubs, one in the center and one on each pole of the main road - or maybe a triangle-shaped map, so long as each side of the triangle is short enough that a nation at hub A could still and easily border a nation at hub B.
  7. 𝕿he 𝕭lushing 𝕾ohaer Cidery and Parlour Seasonal Ciders and Exquisite Vints Est. 79 S.A. 𝔉𝔦𝔫𝔢 𝔖𝔭𝔦𝔯𝔦𝔱𝔰 Look no further for liquors to match the mood - from Malin’s Welcome to the Deep Cold, The Blushing Sohaer has the perfect accompaniment for every occassion. Expect recommendations to match the weather, though you can always order out-of-season. Of course, ciders are the specialty. Each drink is only five (5) mina. 𝔓𝔦𝔠𝔱𝔲𝔯𝔢 𝔓𝔢𝔯𝔣𝔢𝔠𝔱 Located deep in the Celian countryside, enjoy views of the golden fields and roaming forest fauna as you sip on exceptional, cellar-cooled specialties. To get here, take the road towards Celia'nor - once you reach the farmlands outside of the cihi, take the path right and up the hill! 𝔖𝔱𝔢𝔩𝔩𝔞𝔯 𝔊𝔬𝔪𝔭𝔞𝔫𝔶 The mistress of the establishment takes great pride in serving each and every drink and snack that crosses her bar, and loves nothing more than a good conversation with patrons. Founded by Veluthri Elibar'acal after leaving Haelun'or in silent protest (of the union with the Iron Uzg), the Blushing Sohaer was a name plucked out of a hat when her original idea, the Owlery Parlour, was robbed by the Silver State's government rebranding of their tavern to the Night Owl Parlour and Inn, purportedly in reference to her relative the Malaurir Azorella Elibar'acal (the Silver State being where she originally wanted to start it). The name was definitely not a petty whim. It is easiest to find by exiting the gates of Fi'andria, capital of Celia'nor, and going towards the Idol's Garden (Westhub). The last farmland path on the left will lead to the Blushing Sohaer. Alternatively, coming from the Idol's Garden, it'll be the first farmland path on the right. The name and product list is a product of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

  13. Along old cobbled paths did the young man walk, guided by torchlight - amber hues flickering against the red leaves of the autumn seasons. Beside him, a trusted steed - the lame-legged mule, Julia (unrelated to the Saint), carrying a week's worth of supplies for one. The smell of thistle among the undergrowth; of sea-bream sold by a fisherman by the wayside. These were the smells of his homeland, still recovering from the war, its shining capital rebuilt yet again. An old crossing stood before him, though its picket-sign was newly replaced; the beginning of a highway, where once stood unmarked footpaths. To Ebonwood; it cried to be explored. A journey for another time, for the young man was weary from the year's travels already. He had time, though, to pause at the watering hole; a campsite of misplaced milk farmers, their fields salted years ago by Sedanites, the nobility too embattled to pay foreign drui to heal their ruined lands. Cloaked in a plain brown cape, its shape contorting around the sheath of a far finer blade, his tanned skin and rust-colored hair seemed misplaced among the pale folke of the refugee camp; indeed its combination would be misplaced anywhere in Almaris. He pulled from indigo-dyed pockets the letters he carried with him; of Fealty, and of Independence. Moere, warm and coastal, had never wanted for much - a small lakeside village of five raised into a county for a political game the boy had no part in playing. The land, beautiful but infertile, could host little more; yet he had remained there dutifully all the same, bound by oath to cousins that hated his mother, fishing, drinking, lazing about - for the invaders that had so crippled the rest of that Principality had left his Moere alone, the single young man more than enough to fend off the the odd coyote. Yet now he was released, and his father had called for him. He oft wondered after his siblings - he had left home at the age of five, when they were yet whelps cradled in their shared mother's bosom. A brother and a sister he had never met, a keep he never cared to visit, a city he remembered only by the dizzying array of colors plastered onto its walls and the stench that so very often accompanied large settlements. Perhaps home could wait. His steps led him into the Pale.

  17. Haelun'or, deep in the chaos of a civil upheaval, had little time to dedicate towards the lesser races - Veluthri Elibar'acal no exception. Drinking a cup of green tea, the leaves harvested in the wintry seasons for a fuller palette, she read through the morning papers of elcihi, rife with news of elections and speeches, of hurled insults and attacks on character - nothing, of course, related to Elysium, or non-thilln mating with other non-thilln (such was no business of the third-best publication of elcihi, the Silver Inquirer, after all). Suddenly, she sneezed. "Heyae-?!" she exclaimed, confused - for it was a rather warm day as Malin's Welcome was coming into full swing.
  18. "Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya," commented Veluthri Elibar'acal idly upon receiving the missive with her morning meal - today, a hearty affair of oatmeal, two eggs, an orange, and raspberry juice. The exact contents of her meal had no deeper meaning, except, perhaps, that she was especially craving fruit that day.
  19. The golden eyes of a humbly clad 'thill glittered as they caught one of the many leaflets. "Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya," they spoke quietly, near-religious fervor apparent in their voice.
