  1. Honestly, this is a fine idea. I'd support it.
  2. Nope! You don't need to be a part of a group to do some great stuff on the server: trading and traveling included. I'd recommend just finding some items and going city to city selling and doing some fun roleplay. If you need any help, there are a lot of folk able and willing around the server.
  3. Sorry to hear that, Coco. You're always welcome in Elvendom if you want to continue playing your wood elf character. This game should never become a chore for you. Best of luck!
  4. Prince Amaesil nods his head once. "Well said, vuln'ii."
  5. Prince Amaesil nods. "Big, if true!"
  6. Prince Amaesil looks toward Amura as he hears her speak these words. "Because it is not our job to do as they would. We must be better elves for the new age. We must be willing and able to give our enemies the luxuries that have never been afforded to us. That is what it means to be a symbol, Amura."
  7. A Moment of Modesty A MISSIVE TO THE SOHAER OF HAELUN'OR Sohaer Braxus Ni’leya, There comes a point in every tenure that a question must be answered: why do you rule? For some, it is purely for power; for others, it is the safety of their people. The time to answer that question, Sohaer, has arrived. You were offered unity. Princess Ivarielle provided you what every elf in Almaris yearns for, and you declined. This missive, Sohaer, is to beg for your reconsideration. A moment of modesty would unite the high elves beneath a single banner, and an era of peace and prosperity would blossom like the post-war Dominion. Your pride made you Sohaer, but your humility will make you exalted forevermore. I invite you to meet with me, Sohaer, if this letter has not convinced you. If you seek a peaceful resolution to the coming conflict, I pray that you heed these words; I do not wish to stain the ground with elven blood. A moment of modesty is all it takes to change the course of Elvenkind forever. HIS LORDSHIP, Amaesil Vuln'miruel, Prince of Elvendom, Estelaurir of Elvenkind, Priest of Amaethon and High Warden of the Order
  8. Amaesil and Relevas do their super, secret handshake.
  9. Prince Amaesil Vuln'miruel signs his name to the document. He nods to Evar'tir before looking out to his Wardens. "A new age is coming, lliran. Prepare yourselves and your ferrum."
  10. REVELATIONS ACT I Thunder and lighting. BOOM! CRASH! BOOM! Amaesil felt the natural world scream out in pain. Phantom lesions opened down his flesh like a tidal wave. He screamed, but found himself choking on a thick, metallic-tasting ichor in the dark vacuum. When all hope seemed lost, the light returned. The young prince sprang from the forest floor. Cool air rushed in and out of his nose as the panic tempered; his wild eyes looked around the unfamiliar brush with confusion and fear. As he began to calm, his ears flicked. Then, they flicked again. Nature was no longer in pain. In fact, it sounded much different to what he was accustomed to. Where am I? he thought. Amaesil stood at the center of a wet glade surrounded by towering trees. The voices here were softer; nature seemed younger. As he pondered, shouts began to reach him. They came from further in the woodland. He set out to find the source. “Is this all that returns?” a voice asked. Amaesil broke through the brush to find a group of elves wearing strange armor. They were foreign to him, and none looked his way no matter his attempts to speak. Can they not hear me? Can they not see me? “Nearly,” a high elven man responded. He strode forward and knelt down beside an injured elf who was propped up against a tree trunk. “The Wardens came just in time, but the Princess wished to stay behind to speak with the Warlord. I pray she is not captured again.” The Wardens? Amaesil thought. Is this something that has yet to pass? No. These are not my Wardens… “What do you believe will come of this?” another Warden asked. “Will the Children of Sanjezel and the Elvenfolk finally unite against the northern doom?” “Ti, they will,” a new voice sounded. The Wardens turned to see an approaching elfess. Her hair was alight with stars and her bright, blue eyes glistened like sea stones. She wore plate armor covered in ash and blood. She smiled, and Amaesil’s heart began to ache with some unspoken love and familiarity. “A new age of resistance began this day, lliran. A pact has been signed and an alliance against Iblees now stands at the ready. There will be time for celebration, but let us focus on the wounded until we reach the city.” Iblees, Amaesil repeated. Then, he awoke in his bed.
  11. A wrath fills the young prince. "I saw pyres of ash at the center of your city. The bodies of my closest friends — tortured and burned alive by mali'thill. Speak your grievances, but do not lie so blatantly."
  12. "I pray our trust is not misplaced. Let us give them this final chance," the prince muses.
  13. "He took far too long to sign at the meeting," the prince would tell his kin about Sevrel Valin'dar. "I hope to see more of him and the mali'ker after this signing."
  14. The elven prince nods his head with a bright smile. "There is no greater gift than being kind with our neighbors. The west became much stronger today."
  15. "Courage smiles down upon the bold and honor bound," the prince would say to the elves in the square. "The duel will be to first blood, I am sure, but to settle something like this in such a manner favors the one who declared the challenge. I have nothing but the highest respect for the mali'fenn people; they aided us immensely during the Razing of Amaethea and Prince Vytrek has been a good friend to myself and my people." The prince pauses. A frown forms. "But the words of some of his kin makes my skin crawl. I pray the Tathvir grows enough of a spine to stand and watch the pride of Hawksong prove her point clearly with ferrum in hand."
  16. Well said. We need strong administration and strong player leaders to make this work. @Bhased has spent an incredible amount of time and effort to make sure that creeps are ejected from our community. He works in tandem with administration to make sure it happens with as little delay as possible. We need to agree that harboring and justifying people like this in our communities is not okay and start to report. Within this week alone, I have heard multiple people talk about communities I actively roleplay with having a significant population of pedophiles and sex pests. I do not know the validity of the statements, but to be told that I could be interacting with people like this daily with others knowing was a harsh wake up call. It is time to take this into our own hands instead of dancing around the subject.
  17. Prince Amaesil Vuln'miruel nods as the missive is sent. "Wise words. I wish the best for humanity and Oren. I pray this leads to peace so that my daughters will not have to witness the horrors of war. Not yet."
  18. She was gone. These words caught in Amaesil's head. He had received the letter shortly after his meeting with Solus in the Warden Keep. He now sat in silence in the underground meeting chamber as he starred through the open archway to the western horizon. The moon illuminated the trees in the far distance. Is this how it feels to lose a child? he thought. No. She is away, but she is not gone. I will see her again someday. I know this. Amaesil rose from his seat and sauntered toward the archway. He rested a forearm against the wall and stood there for some time in deep, deep thought. Then, he finally penned a short letter to Melawen: in hopes she was not too far away just yet. My dear beloun'ii: There are fewer moments of greater sorrow and pride in my life than right now. I wish you the best on this journey, and I hope you know that I will always be within reach should you need it. Aspects guide you. I will see you soon, little one.
  19. The prince reads the missive from inside his new home. It had come to his attention after an elf had brought it to him from the outside world. A light smile forms as he reads, and he soon goes upstairs to pen a response. To Kolturian the Kesselite: It is valiant to believe in unity among the elves. I believe that it is a worthy goal to dedicate yourself to and is achievable with our long lives. I do believe, though, that you have missed the most important aspect of elven unity: the reasons we have disunity. The leaders of elves crave control. The power to shape the destiny of yourself and your people is what keeps the elves isolated from one another. The Free Elves of Elvendom would not align themselves with the Fennic Bloodlines because they would not seek the same goals and paths; nor should we expect them to. Friendship is possible, but unity is a distant hope. Someday, an elf will come along and unite the ideals of the elves. Perhaps it is you, Kolturian the Kesselite. I wish you the best of luck on this venture, and you have my support should you find an amiable course of action. HIS LORDSHIP, Amaesil Vuln'miruel, Prince-Heir of Elvendom
  20. "No, but we do accept Kohl's Cash," said nobody.
  21. He was gone. Sunlight pierced the onyx veil hanging above the Arm of Malin, but the light brought little enrichment. Something was off; something was missing. As the rangers and elvenfolk awoke from their slumbers, they milled about the refugee town of Hogwash in a fashion similar to every other day before. It was only on the fifth day that something came to light. The Prince had not been seen. Perhaps he is out on a mission or general exploring, many thought. Few worries were had. That is until the third week. Nobody had heard from the Prince. His home was orderly, and nothing was missing. His family had not received a letter or could recall anything said by the Prince that would indicate his sudden departure. Where had he gone? This worry continued until three months later. The Prince had not returned, and no message seemed to reach him. Panic struck a handful, but curiosity was more common. Where had he gone? The Prince... was gone.
  22. I believe @KaiserThoren said it best: the elves never learned that schisms are bad. A lot of other communities on LOTC purposefully avoid schisms due to the fear of splitting their player base. Instead, these other communities use civil wars, coups or grand political systems to change power systems without eradicating their entire player base. There are too many egos and ambitions in the elven community to relegate it to one, single territory. Everyone wants to be a prince, lord or high prince. A multitude of reasons can be given, but it always comes down to one key factor when elves split apart: control.
  23. I would like to clarify something important here. The Father Circle was not pushed out by the ruling class of Elvenesse; the Father Circle was the ruling class of Elvenesse. If what was said is to be believed, the druids left Elvenesse to form the Vale because of the in-character and out-of-character dispute between them and a small sect of the Elvenesse community at the time. Ironically enough, this same group — consisting of elves like Sonna, Laltyl, Lya and Rylleah — soon left the nation, too, to join communities like Elysium and Vortice. At the time of the split, the Father Circle held council positions and were the direct overseers of the nation. I also do not think there was any bad blood between council members like Kalehart, WestCarolina, Bhased, RainbowRoad1234 and the others. It was at this time, too, that the snow elves moved on to their new settlement and the Almenodrim left Elvenesse due to being overshadowed in culture and direct power. Those that were left behind were primarily elves who did not fit into any of the communities that sought to exodus. I thought it was an important clarification to add.
