  6. That is not true at all. The object that holds the soul is held within a casing of matter referred to as solid life force. This finite amount of life force placed into the Lich by the Necromancer via the Gold Obelisk DOES begin to run out. The Third Generation of liches are powered entirely by Life Force, not this indescribable variable called 'magic'. These liches do not work like the previous generation. This is not incorrect.
  7. So that nobody can breach the Server's Perma Kill Rule of being revived within an elven week. There can be no exceptions to this, otherwise it breaks the server rules.
  8. Yes. Nobody can force you to be a lich. Becomming a lich would require you to go through the Magic Team first.
  9. Brevias'Lur is currently a tier five Necromancer and was the previous overlord of Iblees' Undead. That is fact.
  10. If their creator dies, the lich wouldn't experience any change. Their Phylactery would remain wherever it had been stored, and they would either wait to perish, or it would be found and destroyed by another.
  11. LM EDIT:: Must be created IC. To become a lich the character is PK'ed. Must be approved by LMs. Must have a time limit until death, where you may be recreated. History The First Generation Lich The war continued as Iblees ravaged the lands of Aegis, the children of Horen, Urguan, Malin and Krug, fighting to protect the land and realm that they forever lived in. Iblees’ forces constantly grew, people losing faith and giving themselves up for the greater power. As Iblees’ undead minions killed, his forces grew, raising the corpses of these dead soldiers and families that held hopes and dreams. Brevias, the undead overlord watched from the undead fortress as a group of soldiers attempted to siege it. Iblees knew that his forces were diminishing at the time, so he knew he needed a new form of soldier. He was concerned that one day, he would be defeated by the Aenguls and Deamons, as he was previously in the past. He needed to create a new being that would live on and spread his wrath if this was ever to happen, even if he didn’t think it would be coming for at least another millennium. He gave Brevias, the undead overlord, the task of creating this new creature. It took Brevias years of work, constantly using the powers given to him by Iblees to create a ritual that would create a new form of undead. Not many know how long it actually took him, only that he disappeared for a few years to complete the request of the one he worshiped and followed. After all his research and experimentations, he finally created a ritual that would be ready for testing. The overlord brought the Undead’s High Prophet Fyrste with him to resurrect several passed powerful magic users to aid them in the upcoming battles. Only two were brought back by Brevias. One of these men went by the name of Cataris CoinDoin. This man was betrayed by his kin and by all his friends, but he was a very powerful fighter. A former Guild Master of the Mages Guild.. The other called himself Everard. He once was a powerful Archmage of the Guild of Mages. Two perfect candidate for his newly discovered ritual. Not many know what actually happened that night, but they both came out different. The others that came out, they came out as the regular undead minion that you would expect. Most thought that the two were undead as they appeared to be so. Their skin and flesh had started decaying, rotting and carrying with it the dread stench of the undead. They were called liches. Brevias had created two creatures that could live on their own if Iblees was to ever die. Iblees congratulated his faithful minion, proud of what he had accomplished. Cataris and Everard knew their purpose. Although, Cataris never lost himself in the process. They continued on, Iblees offered them the vast amounts of power that all other undead were given. Most of the dark followers never knew of their true nature and assumed they were identical to them. Throughout their time within the ranks of the undead, they both took their own paths, but brought the same amount of destruction to the plains of Aegis. Killing children, mothers, fathers... Everyone. They completely spread the wrath of the undead. In the end, Aegis fell and the four races fled. The undead fell, Iblees being locked away so he could not bring anymore harm to the four races. Prior to this, Brevias was cleansed by the Ascended, removing the Undead Taint that would drain and kill him after the fall of Iblees, he boarded a ship in secret, disguising himself as a Shaman, he took his knowledge with him. Cataris and Everard went onwards, finding their own way of following the other races. They knew their purpose, but Cataris really never did lose himself. He never respected Iblees, simply feared him and followed his directions to keep himself alive. As for Everard, he disappeared and none know if he lives or if is rotting somewhere beneath the earth. Second Generation Lich Cataris kept quiet for several years within the new lands in which the four races settled in. He hid in caves, feeding his hunger for knowledge and power by researching and trying to understand the ancient ritual taught to him by his overlord and creator. He did not know that Brevias had made it out alive, at that time. So, he believed that he had to understand the texts on his own. He brought fear to the people that lived within the lands, murdering a few here and there. He did not make much of an impact until he decided to raise new liches to help him in his endeavors. Cataris had a grudge for the Mages Guild, as they had betrayed him and his family greatly in the past. He attacked it often and threatened to take it over and reform it for himself. He corrupted the mind of one of their young apprentices. Her name was laurina, she helped around the guild for years prior to the return of Cataris. He made her into his faithful minion. Its around this time that the original lich had finally completed a new ritual that would allow him to create more liches without the need for the lifeforce of Iblees. Within darkened ruins, they formed an obelisk of pure gold. As known by the Undead, Gold serves as a battery of sorts. Able to store and retain the lifeforce used within Lichdom and Necromancy. Over the years, people seemed to disappear, whether it be an orphan, or member of the Mori’Quesser, they were never seen again. Cataris took these outcasts, bringing them to the Obelisk. He took upon the process of tearing the life-force from their bodies, placing it within the obelisk. This was done for many years, until finally they had amassed enough energy to create another lich. With Laurina by his side, they both traveled to the grave of a passed Mage. He called him Mithas. They took his body, placing it upon the altar within the obelisk. Laurina watched her master as he raised this man man from the dead, performing an odd and dark ritual. As he did so, he held a sphere of swirling black mist in the palm of his skeletal hand, but it was solid. Solid lifeforce. He had created his first lich from the studies that he had undertaken in the past years. Little did Cataris know, this ancient ritual took away twenty years of his life expectancy. While most of the energy originated from the obelisk, the movement of life-force will always bring more lifeforce with it. The ritual had taken some of the remaining lifeforce of Cataris. With the weakened amount of life-force, areas of Cataris’ mind began to deteriorate, seeming to begin bringing him to the brink of insanity. Laurina and Evark, his faithful followers, slowly began to notice this descent. They did not know the source, they could not figure it out, but they always admired his immense amount of power. They slowly gathered more energy for the obelisk, and soon after, Evark was also turned into the desecrating creature that he always wished to become. Another twenty years taken away from the lifespan of Cataris, and his sanity slowly continuing to dissipate. All three liches fought together to cause harm to the people within the world, each having their own goals. It is only about ten years later that Laurina met her fate, dying when attempting to create a spell that would allow her to be great and powerful. She laid within her grave for a few years before Cataris walked up to it from the darkness in which he lurked. Evark followed close behind, but Mithas was nowhere to be seen. The lich master resurrected his old faithful servant as a slave. A slave that he could use as a weapon to help him with the great goals and achievements he wished to reach. With a great creation came great loss. Cataris lost another twenty years old his lifespan, leaving him with a total loss of sixty years. His sanity no longer existed at this point, some could say he was at a level above insanity. He constantly was delusional and his hunger for knowledge and power was extremely great. One fateful night, his Phylactery shattered as it ran out of power. Little did he know that he was completely wasting the ‘battery’ that kept him standing and alive. The last thing he saw was an illusion caused by his own insanity of his wife and daughter. His body was searched by passing bystanders, the phylacteries of both Mithas and Laurina gathered by some random travelers. His journal, however, was found... but several pages were ripped out. Including the ones that contained his research about the creation of liches. 'Modern' Liches: Third Generation Lich After the death of Cataris, the liches seemed to dissipate from the lands of Mortals. Few were ever seen, and when they were, those who did rarely lived to tell concerning it. Many had attempted to discover a way of bringing back the liches, but with those who knew Necromancy in hiding or dead, there were none who could properly do so. Within Anthos, Necromancy has seen a surge of revival, members of this dark art appearing within it’s shadows. It is possible for the powerful members of Necromancy to once again bring about Lichdom, but without the knowledge or tools, it is unlikely. Tools needed for Lichdom There would need to be specific conditions for Liches to once again be created, due to the intense and volatile nature of creating them. As such, below is a list of sorts. The ‘Phylactery’ Liches are known for this crystal, a part of them that keeps them alive. In essence, it is pure lifeforce. When Liches are created, a large amount of lifeforce is prepared and focused into such a compact state, it comes into a physical form. During this creation, a pathway is established between the Phylactery and the Lich. Lifeforce, when put in a state such as this, is different than normal. It cannot be altered by Necromancers after being made, essentially, it cannot be refueled, drained, or anything such as this. After it is created, it is locked in that state, and will continue supplying the lich until it dissipates. Due to this, Liches themselves are unable to perform Necromancy, due to a side-effect of this action that prevents the manipulation of lifeforce. The exception to this was Cataris and Everard, who were altered by Iblees to be able to harness his power. With the creation of a lich, a ‘timer’ must be set, this dedicates the time it would take the phylactery to run empty. This will usually be set by the creator of the Lich. Creation of a Lich Due to the disappearance of Iblees and his large source of power, there is no one alive who alone has enough life-force to create a lich. Due to this, a middle-ground was needed. As demonstrated by the Undead, Gold can serve as a battery for lifeforce, and is vital for the creation of a lich. The Necromancers who attempts to raise a lich must first create an Obelisk of Gold (Gold blocks). (Note this cannot act as a mana battery of any sort) They must then begin fueling this, taking individuals and draining them completely, he will be required to store their life-force within this obelisk. Since so much lifeforce is required, a team of three necromancers is needed to create a lich. After this task is succeeded, the corpse that will be raised unto lichdom must be discovered. This corpse cannot be older than one Elven week, if it is, the ritual will not work. This corpse must be placed near the filled obelisk, and then raised by the Necromancers to it’s fullest extent. After it has been raised, the process of creating the Phylactery must begin. The Necromancers will begin pulling the life-force from the Obelisk, focusing it into a point between himself and the soon-to-be-lich. With careful precision and focus, he will slowly begin to establish the Phylactery. During this, he must establish a reversed Tether between the Lich and the Phylactery. If this is not done before the Phylactery is finished, the ritual will fail. Due to this life-force being channeled from the Necromancer, it carries an imprint of him with it. This will permanently affect the lich aslong as it remains. The lich from this point onwards may only be recreated by the necromancer that first made him. Due to the strong powers necessary to create a lich, three necromancers are needed to come together to create the creature. In this case, two of the three necromancers are necessary to recreate a fallen Lich. Due to this, the lich would be very hesitant to harm or kill its creator, as they control the Phylactery and are needed to be recreated. It does not need to follow their orders to the letter. Due to the inability to cast Necromancy, a lich may never create another lich. Red lines Liches typically live for up to six months, but this may be increased/decreased slightly depending on the will of the creators. This is chosen when the Lich is made. Liches can not be mass produced, only one every few months. When a Lich is to be created, a Lore Master must be contacted and the new lich approved. When a lich runs out of time to live, it may be brought back again but at the expense of the Necromancers not being able to create another lich for a few months. Two of the three original necromancers are necessary to recreate the lich. When the Lich’s phylactery is destroyed, it may not be brought back. A lich may not cast necromancy. A lich also may not learn any magic as a lich, so choose who you turn into a lich very carefully. A lich's +hylactery is durable and will take effort to break, but a MC item must exist IG. Gold obelisks may not be used as mana batteries. An expert necromancer may not create a lich by themselves. They must gather as a group of at least three. Feel free to criticise to your hearts content! Thank you AllenTheGreat for writing a lot of this. Re-edited by Jistuma.
  12. Me and Allenthegreat have been writing new lore for the next generation of liches. However, that is merely lore about a product that a Necromancer can create rather than a permanent transformation for the Necromancer. I like it.
