  1. Vasili bursts out laughing suddenly, in the middle of his grandpapej's story. "Am betting if Waldenian had heard what I had said earlier, would make some pitiful comment about crows squawking because would have no good comeback!" His kinsmen explode with laughter, each offering up their own imitation of what a Aesterwaldian sounds like. "And, are probably stupid enough to think that Vanir are Crows! Bah! Are sons of the Sea, are Sea-Serpent!"
  2. Vasili lets out a hearty chuckle, spittle flying out across the food-packed dining table as his brother, laughing equally as hard, shares with him the demands that have been given to the rightful rulers of Humanity. "Is good joke, Arik! But am hardly thinking could be actual demands! Is surely of the best yoke! Call Carrion treacherous when these Rovins and Chivays overthrew Carrion, who did make gain of Empire from House of Horen peacefully! They make all these demands, then demand that Oren help them against bandits? Ha! If these two Kingdoms are of having trouble with bandits, perhaps are niet even fit to rule. And are so scared to be stomped by Carrion that are wanting blood-pact to never be attacked, for fear of losing precious power! To be topping it all off, they call Carrions who united Humanity and fought back both Scourge and combined Rebel and Dwarf forces in Anthosian war, treacherous! Losing one skirmish does niet mean will lose war! If rebels are of thinking so, are more stupid than mine poor nephew!" The Patriarch shakes his head as he resume his meal, listening to the story that his grandpapej is recounting.
  3. -A letter is sent out to all family members of House Vanir. A few are left on tavern doors on the off-chance that a lost relative might find it- Brothers and Sisters, I write to you now to apologize. It is seeming we will not be moving into a mighty Fortress, as Vanirmen commonly did when they had amassed much wealth. In fact, we shall be doing quite the opposite. We are to move to the Holy City of Petrus, much to my dismay. It is very far from the Sea; the best it has is a long river snaking it's way through the continent. Have been told we are getting out own district by river, though, which is niet too bad. Still, it is niet what we are used to, so am hoping all will stick with ol' Vasili and be moving to Petrusia. Being such big city, maybe will even reunite with family members. -Vasili, Patriarch of House Vanir
  4. Stoic expressions are fixed upon the Vanirs' faces as the join the long procession making their way out of Karovia, with Vasili up at the front. He had only been to the city once, and had found no sea for his kin and him to lay claim to. This disturbed him greatly, but he could not help feel happy. His friend Aleksandr was now Emporer, a great military strategist was back in Oren, and perhaps this new city would give the House of Vanir a chance to reunite with more lost brothers and sisters. A small smile appears on his face, covered by his beard. "Long Live the King."

  7. In all seriousness, this is what I feel this server is coming to. If the staff does not listen to the Players, how is this server any different from the totalitarian government led by INGSOC. in 1984? We the people outnumber the admis, who are here for "Our Benefit". We should choose who becomes a GM or Admin. We should choose who we want to govern us. I'm sorry, cappy, but this is my opinion (Which I'm hoping isn't removed, as many status' in the past have been). Staff should not be brutal, they should be approachable.
  8. Abner Rahl stands infront of the smoldering ruins, his head bowed and his eyes closed. Another Crow dead, while he himself still lived. He shouldn't have outlived any of the Carrion lords. He should have died long ago on some battlefield, defending them from the forces of evil. He mourned for the young Roy, remembering when he had first met him in Vekaro. Despite him being much older than the Carrion, he always looked up to the lad's leadership skills. "May ye find peace, Lord Roy. Mayhaps I'll be joinin' you one day up in the Seven Skies, forever a faithful servant of Carrion..." With that, the aging Abner Rahl made his way sadly out of the town to him humble home. OOC: It was truly a great time serving under you man. Anthos under your rule was definitely one of the funnest times I've had on the server, especially the Trench Warfare that you orchestrated. I'll definitely be talking to you on Skype whenever you're around, man.

  10. "Is this what true Kings do?" Vasili asks those who surround him in the Karovia bar. Mugs of various types of beverages are sceen scattered amongst the room, abandoned by their owners as they rushed to see the notice that Vasili had produced. "'Storm King' has refused to hear words of most holy High Pontiff, and of Creator himself! Am thinking it becomes more and more evident that these Ex-Knights lusting only for power." The Vanir tugs on his beard in dissaproval, passing the notice around to the crowd. "Might as well be making denounce of Church. These are monsters that must be put down, for good of the Faith and for good of Humanity. The Sea bows to None, brothers. Is time us Vanirs truly took fight to these rebels!" The crowd erupted, men cheering as they reached for their weapons and armour, ready to lay waste to those who ignore the call of the Creator himself.
  11. Vasili nods his head slightly, not understanding half of the words. He runs a hand through his beard and shrugs. "Da, are accepted."
  12. Vasili Vanir tugs on his beard in approval as he hears of the public decloration. Setting his fishing rod to the side, he riffles through the large pile of fish at the edge of the docks. "Am happy to be of hearing more support for Carrion! Am glad not all in Oren are blinded by want for power."
  13. Commisar Josef dispatches the Red Army to fight back against the third reich as they begin their already doomed Operation Barbarossa!
  14. Abner Rahl adds another tick to his chart. Treatires Followed by Dwarves {} Treaties Broken by Dwarves ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- {} IIIII II {} {} {}
  15. Da, is good! Seems have underestimated new Elfski leadership. When win this war, this will serve to strengthen to bond between Elfski and Human people." Vasili Vanir says upon hearing of the declaration, strapping on his ultra-light plate armour used to patrol Karovia in.
  16. "Is making Vasili happy to see dwarfs supporting good Emporer Tuvya." Vasili Vanir says, stroking his beard upon hearing of the declaration. "This will only serve to strengthen great relation with Grand Kingdom!"
  17. Abner's face lights up in joy, hearing word of his former Liege returning home. He sets out immediately to find him.

  19. Letters are delivered to any Vanirs who have already settled in Karovia, or those who have made their presence known to the Patriarch: "It has been many years since we have left our beloved island stronghold for a new dream, my kinsmen. After many, many, we are finally having a place to call home: Erstavik II. This fortress is being built on top of a cliff, overlooking the valleys around the town of Karovia. The town, itself, nestled close to a ocean-fed lake, which pours off of the cliff into the river below. This is truly a place that we can call home. Here, we can once again preserve our traditions, and expand the family so that our culture does not become lost in the annals of history! All should make sure to stay close to town, as it is better to be bunched together in these dark times, in these times where the dead men walk. When Erstavik II is completed, you can be sure that a grand feast will be held! Be sure to un-bury fishing poles from your closets and getting fishing, brothers and sisters! As Sons of the Sea, it is our duty to ensure that none think of Vanirs as not important: our culture, cuisine, and sailing is unmatched. Never forget this. Am hoping to see and sail with many of you in years to come." -Vasili, Patriarch of House Vanir
  20. New posters are hung up below the original ones, containing new information.
  21. The Town of Karovia Upon the former grounds of Alras, black earth freshly turned and new crop recently sown, a cluster of buildings rise within the new settlement of Karovia. Pioneered by Aleksandr Carrion ((Arkantos1279)) and driven by the determination of throngs of refugees, hovels are filled as quickly as they are raised, the jovial spirit of shared endeavor filling the air. Karovia, a new opportunity for all, has driven its roots deep into the ground. "All with peaceful intent are welcome to join this vastly-growing town! Human, Dwarf, Elf, and Orc alike! Whether you're a farmer, fighter, or baker, there's a place for you here!" With promise of work, housing, security and food to all who answer her call, couriers are dispatched throughout the land, telling those everywhere of her temptations. United in their toil to build a better life, men and women of all races from about Athera travel to the wooded canyon, finding a new life beyond her gates. *Below each advertisement, a small map describing the route the Karovia is posted. They read:* "Follow the main Athera road towards Oren. Follow the road into the lands previously known as Alras, and you'll be there! ((x926 z682))!" *A second, newer advertisement is posted below the original one* The Karovian Levy The Karovian levy is the citizen militia for the town of Karovia in times of war or great danger. At present, any citizen of the town at the age of 16 or above, male or female, can join the levy, provided they pass inspection by the marshal or one of his constables. Levymen will be required to attend an event once every saints week for muster-and-drilling training. Standard levymen are allowed one excused absence from a mustering before being discharged. All Karovian Levymen will be issued a set of armor, a sword, spear, bow, and arrows, and recieve extensive, free training on their proper use. Constables: The Marshals Constables serve two primary purposes; law enforcement in Karovia in times of peace, and lesser-officers in times of training and war. Constables will assist in training, running and recruiting of the levy. Constables will be issued special gear issued at the start of their tenure, and are appointed and dismissed strictly by the marshal. Pay Levymen will be issued 20 minas a week, upon attendance and completion of the weekly muster. At the start of their tenure, levymen will receive standard outfitting, and optional housing in tents during peacetime and campaigns. Constables will be issued 30 minas a week, upon attendance and completion of the weekly muster. At the start of their tenure, constables will recieve special outfitting, and optional officers tents in times of peace and campaigns. Those seeking the life of a full-time soldier should speak directly to the Marshal, Arik Vanir,or one of the patrons of the Vanir family. (OOC: Use of teamspeak will be REQUIRED for any warclaim or raiding events. It is NOT required for simple training or town events, but HIGHLY suggested. Even if you cannot speak, attending and listening to your officers in teamspeak is vital, and will not be excused. Skype, while not required, is also heavily recommended for keeping up to date with training sessions.)
