Basically, unless you have photoshop or another photo editing software installed, it won't be possible.

mr narcoleptic cat here forgot novaskin now supports it in it's mobs skinning area. But yes photoshop or paint.net are very useful for this

I have a mac so I have to use all this free trial software from the app store ;_;
