  2. Way of the Sage Where there is life, there is death. Where there is darkness, there is light. One cannot be without the other. One cannot rule and take control, for balance of all things is what we must have in the end. For we are the Sages of the Wilds. Teachings of the Owl Druid, 13th of the Amber Cold, 1670. The beginning of the world as we know it was no doubt vast, beautiful, yet deadly. Creatures of all sorts roaming the lands while the flora took hold and brought forth life in its brilliance. Though with every harmony, there is chaos. Within rage, there is calm. This follows with all things in life, be it from the smallest of seeds to the mightiest of beasts. The neverending flow of what is ‘good’ and ‘evil’, ‘chaotic’ and ‘harmony’, is what has shaped this realm to what it is today. The wilds show a prime example of this. Life, for example, is the beginning of all things. From a seed, a vast forest can grow and strive. Thus we cherish this gift that the Mother has given us. With life, our crops flourish, game is abundant, and shelter is obtained. We use the trees for its strength, the herbs for remedies, and the water to survive. It is something to praise as well as respect. A simple yet beautiful blessing placed on our realm that most seem to take for granted. Yet where there is Life, Death is not far behind. A hidden truth within such a place of vibrance. It is a necessity as well as an understanding that is the other half to make the natural balance whole. The ending of life is eternal and quiet. A certain peace that is found when life comes to an end, be it from an predator killing its prey, a descendant nearing their life’s end, or an unexpected tragedy that befalls someone. With this, it is easy to fall to disdain or hatred for such as thing. The concept of loss unbearable to many yet it is something to come to terms with and understand. To show our grief, sorrow, mourning, offering, and acceptance in the end. For with Death, spirits of the departed move on to a better place while the bodies nurture the soil and in turn, aid in springing forth Life once more. To this end, a common question arises. What is ‘good’ and ‘evil’? The answer to this will always be different. Because each descendant is different in mind, heart, and soul. Nature doesn’t really see this concept. Something that tries to harm it, the Wilds see as simply a danger and reacts violently back at it in order to survive. The Aspects themselves hold this concept to some degree, but only because they are the Watchers and Guardians. It is in their nature to determine what is ‘good’ and ‘evil’ to that of nature and disapprove or accept so it can be protected. Thus in turn, it cascades down to the servants and because each descendant is different, the answer is subjective. If one sees killing another as justified, others would see it as murder and horrid. It is something we all need to step back and observe to give the best course of action. Because one side cannot override another. Both must be heard and show their concepts of ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. ‘Good’ and ‘Evil’. So that in the end, we can understand one another and find balance. What we do know within nature that needs to be followed is Chaos and Harmony. These two concepts nature has completely mastered if one is to look close enough. Chaos is seen deep within each flora and fauna. A primal surge of rage and fury that at a moment’s notice, can be unleash. This is seen when ones provoke the Wilds, causing harm and/or corruption that in turn gets a violent response. It’s something to realize in Nature instead of ignoring or disapproving of it. A wolf for example is calm when around its pack yet suddenly turns vicious and hostile when something poses as a danger. A defensive yet effective trait. Harmony however is always there before and after Chaos emerges. This is what Nature always naturally falls back to. Its base state of being where everything is in its perfect serenity until something causes a disturbance. One could find such a state within a Grove or a undisturbed natural location. It has its beauty, its danger, yet as well, everything flows perfectly with each other. A ripple upon the surface of water can cause a shift where a fish would investigate for food or perhaps a leaf gently floated down to rest on the pool. Then once the ripples cease, the fish hides once again and all is quiet on the surface. There is one thing to remember with both Chaos and Harmony. One cannot be without the other. Chaos is created from Harmony as well as the other way around. It is needed to enforce change in an area and cause it to continue to flow. This is why stagnation is frowned upon. One can observe and simply watch, yes, but in doing so, nothing really changes. Especially when they are needed to act. All these viewpoints just listed are what founded of the Way of the Sage. We stand as a middle ground for all to seek wisdom, guidance, and/or aid. Understanding of every side is needed to be able to perform our duties yet at the same time, not lose ourselves to one side or the other. A concept that is, to many, very hard to do. Especially when we face our greatest fears, rage, and sorrow. The Way of the Sage provides an outlet for this as well as gaining knowledge of acceptance and understanding. We are the Sages, Those that neither fall passively or completely savage; We hold the path of both, For true control is what gives us strength. The Way of the Sage is a path of understanding and acceptance. We usher those lost in one way or the other to find their inner balance and become whole once again. With nature, we are the vessel that allows its flow to go through us so that we may in turn, protect and serve it. Our views fall with learning other viewpoints, performing rituals to mend one’s self, and to be the mediators that are sought for wisdom and guidance. To see one troubled is something we strive to amend. To see arguments or conflicts, we seek out to compromise and end. To see one clouded and blinded, we give insight and clarity so that they can better make decisions or realize a mistake has occurred. These are some examples to what we do as well stepping into the act of mending one’s mind, heart, and soul. This being done through various rituals we perform so that inner balance is achieved once again. Creeds of the Sage The Beauty of Life Elleyun’Taynan The Mother has given us her grace, Thus we aim to preserve the life that is given onto the realm; For we hold its ever changing flow, So that the Cycle of Life can continue. Life is something both sacred and old. You see the forests of ancient times thrive and grow for centuries yet at the same time tiny sproutlings emerging from the earth to continue its legacy upon the realm. We, the Sages, cherish this side of the balance for it is seen as a gift of Cerridwen herself. A life for every seed, the starting point of all nature for with no life to begin, it in turn cannot end. Thus to us, it is important to keep this side of the balance whole and striving. For if death ever starts to consume too much life, the lands will be left in barren waste and despair. The Acceptance of Death Elormaeluer’Kinan Death is a necessity to all things, For life itself has its countering end; Though We Sages do not see this as an evil, For acceptance of this is part of the balance. Death is a concept most do not wish to think of or see. Most find it evil and shun all those that try to end life’s beauty while mourning the loss that occurred. Yet death in and of itself is something not to fear. Not to cast aside or be angered of. No, to us Sages we see it as acceptance and understanding. A necessary event that must remain for without death, life would forever grow and consume the realm completely. This is part of the balance, thus we strive to do when needed to keep the neutrality upon the realm. Feelings however tend to take hold while doing this. It is not something to be ashamed of, yet for those that follow the Way of the Sage, we guide those, as much as ourselves, through this mourning and lost so that the ease of passing is at peace. The Flow of Balance Elnarnsaen’Meracahe Flowing through all, there is Balance; There is no peace without a passion to create; There is no passion without peace to guide, Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act, Power blinds without the serenity to see. There is freedom in life, There is purpose in death, Nature is all things and we are Nature. The ever shifting scale of balance is something we Sages take true notice of. We wander where we are needed, unleash our wrath when it is necessary, soothe to calm in a complete serenity, and act for both life and death when deemed so. It is not our way to remain with one side or the other. We stand in the middle of neutrality to understand both sides and move with clarity to solve what is before us. Chaos we can invoke then wash it over with harmony. We commit the act of killing for death, yet hold to ourselves understanding, mourning, and offering of prayers to ease the passing. This gives our power, to show observation, understanding, and control. For one, to us, that gives into rage each time shows there is a flaw of blindness that could consume and destroy. For one, to us, that only watches and acts for life, there is a flaw of being naive and disregarding a key part of the Cycle of Life as well as showing the inability to act when it is necessary. Thus we remain in the middle and remain true with all parts of ourselves. The Guidance of Fury Elanniler’Llytan Where there is passion, there is rage. Let it flow with hatred and purpose, Yet be its guiding hand; Hold true to this part of yourself, For Nature does not hold back when provoked. Rage is a part of nature, all the way down to its primal form. This is shown and seen with those that follow the Ichor Way. A powerful and emotional bond that roots itself deep within, takes hold, then is unleashed with a guiding hand. To us Sages we find this is needed. A defense the Wilds have shaped and used ever since its creation and shown when it’s in danger. It is a way we let ourselves step into to do what is necessary to uphold the balance yet at the same time, cannot be consumed with it. For doing such allows us the possibility to be blind to things and our actions could cost us dearly. The Soothing of Harmony Elowaleh’Hileia Where there is chaos, there is harmony. Where rage takes hold, serenity seeps soon afterwards, It pulls into balance again and soothes the storm, Thus we Sages in turn, flow with the ever-shifting tides of nature. Harmony is the natural state of all things. Even when nature is in its chaotic state, it eventually returns to its serenity. It is a truth of ourselves as well as the Wilds. A base foundation that is filled with waves of emotions that cast over actions then return to its natural state. The Sage’s duty is to uphold this. To aid in bringing those back to their inner balance as well as soothing nature once again. We listen, aid, and teach the lessons of Harmonic Return and in doing so, we keep to our duties of balance and neutrality. Tenants of the Sage Way 1. Strive for the Balance in oneself. There is no absolute within nature and to become closer to it, we must eschew both passivity and overzealousness. We are always growing and changing, stagnation is to cease growing, total savagery is to lose ourselves and meet our end. 2. Allow yourself to flow, as both a raging storm and a gentle spring. Balance is a forever shifting system of forces, waxing and waning. When passion stirs you must allow it to flow through you and inspire you to action. When peace wells you must seek out wisdom and share it with others. One will always give way to the other, do not fear this. 3. Be a teacher to others in all things as well as a student forever learning. Others look to us for guidance and wisdom, so we must always act with conviction and purpose. We must be prepared to offer our knowledge, but also to be open to further learning. 4. Encourage others to find the Balance within themselves. Enlightenment does not belong to any one person, and to covet knowledge and personal growth without affording it to others is to forsake true enlightenment. 5. Always seek out the truth. Lies and fallacies breed ignorance, so we must attempt to uncover the truth of things. We must distinguish for ourselves however, when the time is right to reveal the truth. 6. Do not concern yourself with those who shun enlightenment. To choose to revel in ignorance is to stifle oneself and one's growth, those who do this will attempt to deceive and undermine your own wisdom. Pity them, but do not suffer them. 7. Where life goes so too should you. Go where you are needed, spreading wisdom and Balance wherever you walk. When you have taught all that you can, be prepared to move on. Do not lament the parting of ways, for you leave behind your teachings. One day you may come to learn from an old student. 8. We must gather and learn all we can to properly perform our duties. The duty of the Sage requires knowledge of all ways and creeds so that we can understand and aid those that need it. Rituals, offerings, and prayers are a part of this, required to be learned and given when a situation arises. Tattoo/Marking Mark of the Sage The Mark of the Sage shows one that has completed the trials and is fully devoted to walking this path. The tattoo is the flora sage with blooming white flowers along its stem, as seen in the picture above. Where it is placed is limited as it holds symbolic meaning. The only acceptable places are anywhere along the shoulders, the arms, or hands. Each one represents something with the Way of the Sage. The shoulders symbolize holding the burdens of others and easing them to help mend, the arms represent offering a limb to grab onto and lift up to aid in their pain and suffering, and the hands represent one able to grasp ahold and be guided. For a Sage, any spot acceptable is fine to place the mark as it holds the symbol for all these together. Sage Prophet The Sage Prophet is the leader of Way of the Sage. The Prophet aids in spreading the teachings to all those that wish to learn it as well as giving the title of Sage Herald to those that have proven themselves devote followers wishing to spread the Way. Current Sage Prophet: The Owl Druid Sage Heralds Sage Heralds are those that help in teaching/spreading the Ways of the Sage. Seekers can go to any Sage Herald or Prophet to begin learning/devoting to the Way. Once a Seeker has passed their trials, the marking can be given by a Herald. Current Sage Heralds: Autumn Druid Nivndil River Druid Calius
  3. @Paleo I would provide some emote examples. It would help show the emote requirements and how this magic is properly RP'd.
  4. This Lore has been denied as per request and agreement of the ferals agreeing to be shelved. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.

  6. Ah, I see however the thing is is that these creatures could still be made by non-player fae. An ET could easily have where a group of Fae are turned and corrupted into these. As I said, this is definitely an interesting creature for ET events, but I don't see this as helping fae. This is more of an 'what if' when blight gets to them.
  7. While this would make an interesting event creature, I do not see how this would aid in fae creatures being unshelved or really relate to it at all. This seems to be targeting a specific community to force them to be reliant on Fae creatures when they can honestly protect themselves rather well. Then you would have the issue of these creatures finally killed, what happens after that? This falls on keeping activity up and thus falling into a reliant cycle of ET events which that's never really panned out well in the past.
  8. This Lore has been denied. The reasoning will be edited into this comment shortly. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.
  9. The author wishes for a self-deny and will be reposting a rewrite of the lore.
  10. This Lore has been denied. The major concerns regarding this rewrite that were stated was it not really addressing the issues that were stated on what needed to change. The purpose and what this brings to the table weren’t really solved at all, then there was issues of immortality being given to these creatures as well as the conflict of these able to FTB to descendents. Lore conflict also arose with these creatures now gaining magic when they have inferior souls. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.
  11. This Lore has been denied. A number of the team feel that druidic lore already has enough added to it as is and something as big as this would add to the problem. Should parts of druid lore get removed or changed to change this aspect, that stance may change. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.
  12. This Lore has been denied. While we understand the black nexus exists already, the team is not in favor of passing this lore. This is primarily due to the sword and how it acts as a portable means of disconnection, capable of being hoarded by an individual who can in turn summon the nexus to their location. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.
  13. This Lore has been denied. Unfortunately this lore has been denied. While the lore itself is fine, a majority of the team do not believe in allowing for personal lore to be written that has this level of divine intervention. Topic moved to Denied Lore forum.
  14. druidic healing isn't really healing. its just enhancing herbs.
  15. Remove stating and singling out specific players. No matter what reasons you may have, lore pieces are not created here to specifically target people just to get a point across in said lore. @firegirl7894523
  16. Forenote: Credit to Arik and the other shifters for coming together and making this proposal. The Removal of the Shapeshifting Tome Pic from Billybones-DeviantArt Shapeshifting Amendment Proposal, for the LT/MT This is a proposal seeking approval from the LT to change/retcon certain lore Aspects of Shapeshifting. This allows for certain IC events to proceed unhindered but eliminate some lore inconsistencies that dog down the tome. 1- Remove the tome's status as a deific artifact. As far as Druidic lore is concerned and the lore of the Aspects, it actually would be inconsistent of the Aspects to directly distribute instructions for mortals to utilize. More likely ancient Druids discovered the technique, and documented the rituals for it. 2- Remove protection, unique status, or invincibility associated with the tome. Allow the tome to be copied, torn or destroyed. If the tome is destroyed, Teachers are able to write back down the steps for the rituals like they would other secret things such as Soul trees, from experience and wisdom from teaching others. 3- The trials/ritual associated with and outlined in the shapeshifting tome are required, NOT the tome. In consistency with lore, this means that the tome is no longer necessary for others to read directly from. Instead, the steps taken are what matter. This also aligns with the Druidic mythos. The Grotto however is still required. 4- Teaching can continue unhindered As stated above, teachers can continue teaching current trials either from their own knowledge of the trials or from a copy of the book. No training should be impacted as a result. Those that seek out TAs still need to be trained on how to teach the trials. I strongly believe the above falls in line with the mythology, theme, and overall lore that has existed with the Druids. Now we have an IC catalyst to help eliminate the inconsistency that has plagued the lore for years.
  17. You are taking his words and taking quite a mile with it. The aspects guard over the natural balance and nature itself. There isn't a 'well Wyvern had the winter season control then Cernunnos steps in once he's out of the way'. There's not even a comparison there. They don't even control ice and snow. Nature's seasons are apart of just that, nature. There's no ruling over such. This Aengul was known for his powers over the ice and snow. A way to fix it is to just not mention it at all given nothing is even compared here. It just seems very randomly placed in.
  18. *squints* Just going to correct this right away. No. That's not how that even works.
  19. ~ Druidism: A Comprehensive Guide ~ Forenote:: This revision is of the collection of many new submissions and rewrites that have been made in the course of the last time this guide had been created and edited along with clarifications within each area to remove any confusion. With each new addition or rewrite, this will be updated accordingly. References to various lores will be shown below in the Reference section at the end. Origins (( https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/163263-%E2%9C%93-lore-the-origins-of-druidism/?tab=comments#comment-1544559 )) With the first blessing of the gift given to the elven warrior centuries ago, the pathway of druidism was forged and created. Like a small sapling at the beginning, it has grown into a massive tree with many different branches that stretch out while keeping the roots of the foundation the same. Druids of ancient history became fighters, observers, healers, protectors, guardians, priests, and so much more. Each subtype expanding upon what a druid can do and achieve while protecting the wilds and those that live within it. One that seeks to walk the path of the Aspects, they need to seek out a teacher and become a dedicant. Through dedicancy, the dedicant is taught and trained on what is expected of them to do and what the path entails that must be followed. Should a dedicant pass their tasks, they are taken to undergo attunement, a series of visions that truly test the mind, heart, and soul of the dedicant to be deemed ready for the gift or not. If passed, they receive the gift and are now a druid. As a druid, they begin with communion, the starting and focus point of the entire connection. At first it is small, yet eventually overtime it will grow and the druid will become more open to the melodies of nature. With this, a druid can learn the various subtypes and abilities listed below. One can never surpass in a subtype over their own communion skill. Nature’s Communion “You feel it in the air, see it within the trees, and hear it all around you. The ebb and flow of life is unmistakable and truly something to pay attention too.” This is the starting point of all Druidic abilities. One is connected to the ebb and flow of life around them. They can feel, see, listen, and even speak to nature and creatures that inhabit it. Yet when just attuned, the connection itself is weak. The abilities just beginning and through training, experience, and meditation, your communion will become stronger and your requests and abilities easier to manage. No Druid can advance in any druid magic subtype more than their current Communion Tier. Control of Nature “We are not pacifists by any means. Disrespect or harm those of the wilds and you will meet our wrath.” Control of Nature enables the druid to interact with the plants around them. Whether as simple as growing a flower or as difficult as controlling roots and trees to aid you when needed. Each tier here is determined by your Nature’s Communion. It is REQUIRED to be taught this by someone already highly learned in this subtype. Once you are Tier 3 or above in Control of Nature, you can self improve through practice and meditation over time. Herblore “Natural remedies of nature’s design have powerful effects of healing, but also could produce poisonous outcomes as well.” Druids are well known for their healing prowess with natural herbs, be it from a leafy patch-up or aiding in producing powerful salves , it is said that in terms of medicinal herb work that the druid’s abilities go unmatched. This art is incredibly interesting as it works hand-in-hand with the knowledge of herbalist alchemy and the druids natural magic. Whilst the druids are best known within the realm of healing with their unparalleled usage of herbs, even those who are not adept at performing the magic are able to use the wonderful remedies that are created by other druids to astounding effects. It is common for the druids to build clinics nearby herb gardens to house their bandages, poultices, salves and potions that others are able to benefit from in emergencies. Blight Healing “The land’s destruction is horrific to its very core, yet fear not. Nature will always endure..” Blight healing is a most noble ability of the Druids. Lands afflicted by blight, or plague, disease and death, decay or magical scarring are given new life, and in the place of the infertile soil there is verdure. Yet as with all abilities, some are more exhausting than others. Blight Healing being the most exhausting of the subtypes given its magical properties tapping directly into the connection itself to wash over and cleanse the land. Shapeshifting “One truly feels free unlike anything that you may have experienced before.” Shapeshifting is one of the most secretive arts of druidism. After a druid is chosen, they undergo trials to test their spirit and resolve in order to find, bond, and eventually merge with their spirit animal. Once the process is complete through the ritual of change, the druid is now able to shift into their spirit animal at will. In order to however do this, the guide teaching must access to the Grotto of Cerridwen. Abilities Within this section are a list of specific abilities a druid can invoke, do, or summon. Each one requires to have been taught by one knowledgeable with the ability along with the redlines to show the do’s and don’ts. Feats Within the realm of nature, sacred feats can be obtained through various processes and creations that can alter and/or change the druid in question. Other feats hold a deep responsibility that when invoked, can change a druid’s life forever. Learning such cannot and should not be taken lightly for those that take and learn these feats are tasked with a great burden and responsibility. World Interactions With the blessing of the Aspects now upon the druid, the natural world around them is open up completely. Communion being key, the druid is able to listen and interact more with the natural world than a normal person would. As such with understanding, the druid can encounter various creations of both Nature and the Aspects. Such examples would be Elders Trees, Fae creatures, Mani Princes of the wilds, and even seen visions of the mythical Ethereal Forest realm. Fairy Rings being a location mysterious to druids, other locations of pure natural balance are seen to have a wide range of different effects or encounters thus a druid must always use caution when traveling to such places. ((For more information, here are some links below)) Magic Applications Each Druid is required to have an accepted Magic Application to roleplay these powers. Without an accepted MA, they are simply a druid with a connection to nature. Essentially Tier 0 in Communion, they can sense the ebb and flow of life but cannot truly interact or communicate with the life around them nor does the connection gradually increase overtime until a MA is accepted. It is required for Guides to be have an accepted Teacher’s Application in order to attune new druids. Although a Guide can not have a Teacher's Application, and let someone else do the attuning. Druids and Other Magic As with all deities, the Aspects themselves hold expectations for their children and expect the druids to uphold their duties to nature and the balance. Given this, performing other magics not deemed acceptable within the eyes of the Aspects will start to result in the druid’s connection beginning to change. At first, the connection is merely halted, not able to advance any further within any given tier. Should the druid continue practicing other Magical Arts not acceptable in the deities’s eyes, their connection will then start to wane and decrease gradually over time. Nature will also take note of this, having find great disrespect in a child of the Aspects doing such and finding requests denied or the wilds even lashing back at the druid in question. Melodies and songs of nature will passively start to become louder and more angered where if the druid still continues down the path of other magical arts, they will find natural places harder to focus within. It is of important note to remember however, that guidelines of other magics must be taken into account. Should a magic state it cannot be learned if the person say has a deity connection, the druid must seek out unattunement and have their connection severed before pursuing those kinds of magics. Golemancy and Blood Magic in general, is acceptable without having the drawbacks of learning another magic. Blood magic however cannot mix with Druidism magic any longer despite being able to cast it alone. Golemancy allowed unless a druid's soul is used for the creation process of a golem given the Aspects not fond of a servant's soul used in such a manner. Once the druid begins learning of another magic that would have such drawbacks, they must notify a MT and also the one that attuned them so proper emotes can be carried out. Shade Magic- Druids are incompatible to be made Shades. However if a Druid’s mana pool is corrupted for any purpose, then when they try to cast any druidic spell the various forces of nature would actively try to defend itself, ranging from vines lashing out at the druid to nearby animals attacking the druid. However this will quickly subside as a Druid’s mana pool would rapidly refresh the corrupted mana back into untainted mana. 20. Entlings =/= Ents. The name is similar, but different creatures.
  21. This is a lore submission. Not a grounds to bicker about IC problems. Any and all topics related in such a manner will remain IC. If orcs start to metagame people who begin to learn this feat, then they are in the hands of the GM team. Keep this civil and talk about the lore piece. Second note. Both shamanism and druidism are not race locked magics. Cultures revolving around the magics, are just that. Cultures. And something to deal with ICly. Lore itself. In no way is a shaman invoking any magic to achieve teaching this feat. This feat, as some pointed out, has been a possibility of occurring given several various lores hinting it. Including the Fae Realm and Fairy Ring lore. Druids cannot do this with any other plane. Only the Fae Realm.
  22. Reading the comments here and the base of this lore. Voidal magic in and of itself is something that nature of this realm does not like. It's not necessarily druidism but the world as a whole. Mainly given voidal magic isn't apart of this realm, it's pulled from the void then dissappears again. As such, there have been creations made and areas destroyed given a mass amount of voidal magics or energies that have occurred. We can take a look at other lore pieces involving voidal magics or creations. Some devastating, some harmless. But with each piece, it's around the same. Nature isn't fond of it. This isn't so much as 'voidal mages are just as bad as dark mages'. That's a general point of view with each character. Voidal mages are seen as discovers, scholars, explorers, etc and many loved delving into their arts. Their magics, like any other, does have a counter magic where something doesn't like it. This piece right here I'm reading and not really seeing it as druids taking out voidal mages. More a way to use, I'm assuming blight healing given land cleanse, to help restore the land destroyed by a mass amount of voidal energy. Which if so, wouldn't bother voidal mages at all given it only works on plants and animals.
  23. As Gallic put it, druids are attuned to nature. When one steps in a fae ring, they feel their blessing increase. what happens to normal people in Fae Ring, druids constantly feel and experience given their connection. This boost has always been within lore of the famous Fae Rings, as stated in the original lore created by Arik. It's a teaching tool and a meditation area where druids go to understand their abilities better. Whereas a normal person would be struck with so many overwhelming sensations, their ability to cast anyway would be lost given focus is required to cast.
