The lore is fantastically written and has some really cool points. I'm just afraid of the ultra meta that might ensue. Typically we don't have to worry about that in regards to technological innovation on the server (i.e the use is very clique-y or single use), but this seems like a god alloy. It just stands to reason that as soon as someone figured it out in RP it'd spread. And that's even assuming people bother going through the trouble of actually learning how to do it instead of just figuring it out OOC and finding some bullshit reason to figure it out IC. I guess what I'm trying to say is, the alloy is simply too powerful for anyone to expect that it won't be meta'd. Despite the intent of the lore, it will primarily phase out any Aurum/Magegold weaponry, making the entire drawback of needing gold as a weapon against undead. This'll just spread way out of hand for all the wrong reasons. But other than the Anti-Spook property, I think it's an interesting piece of lore.

Well yes but you wouldn't be able to connect the enchantment to the Prismar itself. It first needs some form of mana to appear near it first. Basically, people aren't capable of telling it what to do in the same way that they could with mana stored in a mana gem. They could make the gem smaller, though, if they have a lot of Prismar

You could theoretically use it to help bolster an enchantment that runs off of a mana battery, but it'll never be able to replace a mana battery

Well you can fill your pocket with a lot of them, but it'd be the equivalent of having one pocket sized gem in your possession. Even then, it would effect your casting very little

Prismar It was a cold, wintery night on the island of Axios. A young mage taken a cruel beating from his father that night, and in his own fear, ran off into the woods. The young mage was used to this sort of game with his father, as the old man drank to forget the horrors of the war that he himself had witnessed as a young man. The mage had been walking for quite some time, stopping to rest in the wintery forest a long walk away from his family’s cabin. He sat on a dead log, shivering. He had forgotten his cloak at home, the fool. As such, he had no way to warm himself other than his magic. He spent a few moments gathering dead brush from around the area, wiping a clean area in the snowy ground beneath his feet. The young mage took yet another moment to rest: his escape from his father had taxed him more than he would have thought. The mage pulled out a necklace that his mother had given him, a beautiful, green shard in the middle of it. He felt guilty for a moment, as the boy had left his mother to the hands of that drunk. The mage pushed the thought out of his head, putting the locket around his head, instead preparing himself to use what little knowledge of Fire Evocation that he had. He emptied his mind, and began the training exercise his teacher had taught him: “Imagine a spigot, where the liquid is the void and you are merely the spigot, bringing said liquid into the world”. The boy felt the exhilaration of connecting to the Void; he had felt the raw power in his grasp. He began his attempt to evoke a small ember into the world, in his hopes to start a fire. The mage felt it working, however, due to his newness to the magic, paired with his intense cold, he was unable to provide enough mana to get the job done. The boy huffed for a moment, scowling at his own incompetence. However, undaunted, he tried once more. He freed his mind and allowed himself to connect to the Void. The boy had done this rather frequently, and it was becoming easier for him to do so. He began the difficult process of creating an ember once again, this time being able to produce just a little more mana than before. Then, something strange happened. An ember became evoked in front of him, albeit small. It was something not controlled, rather, it felt as though mana was added somehow. But the boy didn’t dwell on it any longer, as there was now a nice fire in front of him. He absentmindedly played with the gem around his neck. Did it perhaps feel a little warmer? Prismar, also called Prismarine, is a naturally occurring gem found in the mountains of Axios. However, the precious gem, much like Thanhium, has unexpected magical properties. But before said magical properties are explained, it is important to know how mana from the void works. Every living being has mana in it (with a few exceptions). A mage is able to manipulate mana to evoke something from the void. For the sake of explanation, it can be as if the mage has programmed the mana to behave a certain way. This is where Prismar comes into play. Prismar leaks mana out into the world, much like Thanhium does. Although, unlike Thanhium, it is not a transfer of one type of energy to another. Instead, it is believed that Prismar leaks a type of “blank” mana. It cannot be used for enchantments like Thanhium can, but rather, the mana it radiates will copy other mana around it. A practical example of this would be evocation. A mage evocates a fireball. Because the mana in a high enough quantity, the mana from the Prismar will attract itself to the fireball, amplifying the spell slightly. How much it amplifies a spell by is rather small, and can only be described as such: the more Prismar there is, the more the spell can be amplified. For instance, it takes a chunk roughly the size of your fist to turn a small fireball into something somewhat larger. This is not to say, however, that a large amount of Prismar should be used at any given time by a mage. Rather the inverse is true. The mage has no control over how much mana will be given because of the Prismar, and because of this, many mages have been injured or killed because their spell had overcharged and they lost control of it. Where Prismar gets its Mana: Not much is known about where the Prismar gets the mana that it radiates from. Many argue that it is a physical manifestation of the Void, almost like a mark to show that the world is and can be affected by the Void. Others say that it is like Thanhium, and that it converts some type of energy into mana. This theory is unsupported and the research that has been done shows little results. Uses It has applications for any mage, seeing has how it can help to amplify a weak mage’s spells. Despite its inability to be used as a mana gem, Prismar could be used in conjunction with mana gems to produce magical defenses against enemies. It does have potential in Arcane Engineering, as you could help reduce the size of mana gem powering any creation if you use Prismar within the creation. You could also use it to sabotage any of the uses stated above, as any of those items could easily get overpowered and control could be lost. For instance, with a magical defense, you could overcharge the defense and cause the defenders to lose control of the weapon, harming themselves instead. It can help overcharge Wards and Abjurations, allowing wards to block magic at the same strength with half the gem size if enough Prismar is present. The Attractiveness of Prismar’s Mana Prismar’s mana is attracted to the closest and largest other type of mana available to it. For instance, if two mages are battling, Prismar will aid the one that is using more powerful/complicated spells. Because of this, it is easy to counter Prismar when it is weaponized. Just ensure that you are using more mana to do something than your opponent, and the Prismar will help you. Closeness to the user also affects Prismar. For instance, let’s say that one mage is standing on a block of Prismar, and that another mage is standing a few blocks away. The closest mage casts a medium fireball, and the other mage casts a slightly larger fireball. Because the two fireballs are similar in size, the closer mage will receive the benefit from the Prismar instead of the farther mage.
