  1. No, it's not. For virtually ANY chat platform which is widespread, all you need to google is '[chat platform] + logging bot' and you will be given hordes of bots you can download which will automatically log conversations. Then, you need only pastebin those conversations and link them from a thread on the forums once every two weeks or on a monthly basis. This is literally a ten-minute job, and for some reason the vast majority of staff are incapable of realizing how simple and easy it is.
  2. Internal channels are non-public and thus non-transparent. You people are idiots. If you want a system transparent to the community, you need to make your staff chats publicly visible or logged.
  3. the staff teams sure do love deleting huge amounts of information from threads if there's ever an admin or gm who runs on a platform of NEVER deleting ANY post which has even a single IOTA of decent information in it, I would ABSOLUTELY support them
  4. thank you, this is way better Maybe Scint University though, if you really want to give it some flair. also, squirtgun + not money hungry = paradox ur the richest person on tha server yah scrub
  5. Who is this guy, says Ti'gobser. what is a crown, even, he continues. he wonders if he can pay this off with all those tax receipts he stole that one time. he rubs his chin thoughtfully. HMMM, thinks Ti'gobser.
  6. We should give the chance for new players to take up these sorts of chars. Maybe a 'template section', where people with open familial slots can place a partially-filled template for new players to use when they are submitting an app?
  7. “I cannot stand to see them fall, and fall again - incompleting their task at hand as they lay down their arms in defeat.” This sentence is wacko. “I cannot stand to see them fall, and fall again - failing to complete the task at hand as they lay down their arms in defeat.” is the only thing I can think of to fix it. => Seeing as I can't edit my post for whatever reason, you can merge this with my previous post at your leisure.
  8. Can you at least make him cool instead of like the generic trash self-fellating Aenguls all the staff like to play? As far as I can tell this looks to be just your average power fantasy.
  9. ~| The Filthy Tongue |~ We are unique. Divinity is not thrust upon us. Unlike all the other creatures that walk this world and the worlds beyond, we are the only ones to have a choice. Animals hunt and hide, scrambling through their days. Their minds are absent of thought. They have never had the opportunity to betray their natural inclinations because it is impossible for them to do so. This is what makes them in touch with what is natural in the world. True divinity is not conscious in the same sense a thinking person is. It is the blowing of a slatted breeze. It is the padding of leopard's feet against the snow. It is the Flow of creation. It is as natural as breathing. Aenguls and Daemons experience a form of passive suffering, eternally distanced from the divine. They were born into this world with goals and ideas that are not writ in feeling, but in thought. They are required to illustrate the ways in which we could stray from balance, while at the same time keeping each other in check. It is through them we discover the extremes of ideology, and realize that their absence gives us balance. I watched with pride as I saw fields turn to ash, as the sky grew dark with clouds of smoke. The sparrows spoke to me of several fields burned in response to my last letter: three in the kingdom of Oren, and one more in Urguan, another in Laureh'lin. I heard also of several smaller acts of conflagration, from those who sought to make their practice a secret. Secrecy is nothing to be ashamed of. The minions of the City are numerous, and their ears are countless. It is wise that we tread softly. A hunter stalks his prey by the sound and sight of crushed twigs and torn leaves. I wonder what the hunter will think, when in every direction he looks, he sees crushed twigs and torn leaves. We may return to the Flow and what is natural, or we may indulge our vain childish desires for something more. We have the choice to keep ourselves in balance, and this is our test. It is the purpose of our existence in this world. Some of my kin speak of those who claim that 'a bird builds a nest, a man builds a home, there is no difference'. We must remember that it is because we must use our minds to build that brick-and-mortar house that it is unnatural, and therefore an affront to balance. If it were the case that we did not need to use our mathematical and symbolic faculties to saw boards and fire clay, a house could very well be a natural thing -- but this is not the case. A bird need not measure twigs. Now, I will place another task in your hands. Any of you, or all of you. Steal wealth from the City. Slip the golden rings off sleeping barons. Pick the coin-purse of a drunk. Steal a single silver coin from a merchant, or take everything he owns. Take the wealth you gather, melt it down, and dump the slag into the ocean. Jewelry has no place in the natural world. It is valued simply because we choose to give it value, and the moment we stop giving it power, it will lose all hold over us. Show that you are dedicated to the cause of restoring balance to this world. I ask this of you. ~ March Ash You find a message on a sheaf of bark, scrawled in animal blood. We are dedicated to the total destruction of civilization and the unnatural in the world. Who we are is a secret -- many of our members do not know the identities of others outside their sects. In a world so bloated and sick with the servants of cities, we must be careful, for a few missteps could snuff us out. Do not expect glory, because glory is a creation of Men, and is therefore profane. Do not expect wealth, because wealth is produced in civilization, and is therefore profane. Do not expect knowledge, because knowledge is born from the mind, and is therefore profane. Khar Nanyo will not replace the order of the world; it will be dissolved when its objective is complete. A return to nature, not a simple reconstruction, that is our goal. We may have to commit terrible acts to bring balance to the world, but they are necessary acts. If we do not resolve this crisis today, then in a few mere centuries, we will not be looking at the elimination of civilization, but at the extinction of all descendants on the planet. 11. Can we organize a protest at Mojang HQ? We can throw rocks.
  12. Would a druid subtype which deals with nonliving things (e.g. the winds and rain) be open for discussion, or would Jistuma just take a big, steaming, slimey dump ontop of it? Can we remove the 'pk if you suicide' thing, and replace it with a ban or something? Now that heists are approved, can we get it elaborated on to enable theft of items like potions (e.g. 5 potions count as 1 item slot) and to prevent theft of enormous amount of resources (e.g. 32 blocks of iron instead of 64 count as 1 item slot). Like the heist system, can we get a system for arson? Like, only 1 act of arson can be committed every two weeks at a particular location? I'm not talking about acts of arson which permanently destroy things. I'm saying the building you burn down is replaced with a pile of ashes, and then after a week of rebuilding, the structure is restored. While it is 'burned' down, the items inside the structure can't be accessed, but they are restored once the structure is. So, you might burn down a village's storage before a warclaim to prevent their access to weapons, or their windmill to prevent access to their food stores? Can we have a POLL for skill wipes instead of an idiotic thread where you post big slates of text? @Tythus: Can we get race reskins? Mojang completely fucked $$$ with their lizard *****, and it might be a decent perk. I'm talking about where you have a new race with the same perks as a current one, with the only differences being a different name (e.g. at 100$ donation you unlock the Pigmen race, which is just reskinned orcs -- we could go ahead and write lore on it and such) On the other hand, there is the possibility of becoming a black server. There's already means of hiding your IP from Mojang's detection services, so it's entirely possible we could continue on without concern of Mojang ******* us even harder. If a player is unjustly banned and later proves their innocence after the ban has expired, that player should get some form of restitution. What forms of restitution do you think would be appropriate? Can we have more freedom with varying technology? Steamships, for instance. Let me talk about skills and recipes, or HOW ABOUT you open the floor for everyone to discuss skills, and then after like 10 min of discussion you shift to recipes for 10 mins?
  13. ~| The Filthy Tongue |~ Faith comes from the mind of Men, and so is shameful. The sparrow does not have faith the sun will rise, the sparrow believes with reason that dawn will come, as it has come after every night prior in that sparrow's life. Beasts do not believe in powers or realms beyond the ones they experience with their senses. Those beliefs might be comforting, but they are just comforting lies, and in nature, there is only truth. I do not need faith to believe in the GOD of the Canonists, because He is present throughout all creation. Nor do I need it to believe in Yemekar of the dwarves, because he has put a piece of himself into his creation. Men look hard for their gods, when the reality is air and scent. There is a consciousness which permeates all existence. It courses and ebbs, a great ocean on which we float. To it, Daemons and Aenguls are just another kind of boat, and Aspects are currents given names. Our Creator did not create the natural order, because when the world began, our Creator became the natural order. We call this the Flow -- the ongoing judgement of every act and event that takes place. The Flow is a god. Not because it is worshipped (it isn't) or because it grants prayers (it doesn't). It lacks an agenda. It even lacks anything we'd recognize as a mind. It is a god because it is a piece of a higher reality, and also this one. It is a thousand times more real than the world we live in. If the world was a book printed on rice paper, the Flow is an iron spike that nails it to the table. I saw small plumes of smoke when I gazed over the canopies in Laureh'lin. I smelled the ink burning. You have done well. When we work towards restoring the world to a state of balance, we are calming the Flow, so that it might spares us from the terrible storm. Although a single one of us cannot do much on their own, together we have true power, and together we may have the strength to bring the world back into balance. The Flow is the medium disrupted by actions which unbalance the world, and stabilized by actions which balance the world. It can be as calm as a puddle, or as violent as an ocean hurricane. It transcends the boundaries of realms. We cloth it in terms like 'Aspect', when it is a component of all existence. It is living, and it is thinking. A tree dying must be balanced by a tree being planted, but what of more complicated matters, like a sonata being born, or a kingdom rising up? Order built in sensation and social structure is just as damaging as order built out of iron and timber. All realms are within the jurisdiction of the Flow, even the realm of thought. All must be balanced. Now, I will place another task in your hands. Any of you, or all of you. Put a field to the torch. Barley, oat, carrot or sweet potato, it does not matter. Civilization survives on a backbone of a thousand farmers, breaking their bodies tilling soil while obese men laugh over mugs of ale and haunches of meat. But the survival of a city is delicate. A single fire will not destroy a farmer, for he can replant, but a city will descend into starvation and chaos within mere months. 16. ~| The Filthy Tongue |~ There is no better way to raze a town than to burn it. Fire is the great equalizer. I love a dry summer storm. Thatched roofs ignite so readily under lightning strikes, like they've been waiting for the flame. We call to the winds, and the winds call back, blowing the inferno before them across the town. Forest predators pad through the streets on quick paws. Farther back in the smoke, you can see our naked, blood-painted kin moving from house to house, methodically destroying written works. The justice of GOD is not the justice of Men. In a just world as it is most commonly considered, good things would not befall evil beings, and bad things would not befall good beings. However, in our world as we see it, we must recognize that good things befall evil beings, and bad things befall good beings. The world we exist in may appear to be unjust. We need to invoke the existence of an afterlife, where these injustices would be counterbalanced -- thus, making the universe, taken as a whole, just. But we know of the existence of many afterlives. The orcs travel to the spirit realms, some void mages go on to live forever in the void; these are real, we know they exist. And yet, comparatively 'good' or 'evil' beings who go to these realms may not have their good or evil actions counterbalanced. If we are to still assume GOD is just, then the only possible case is that the way GOD evaluates a person's 'goodness', or 'evilness', or the way He determines what things might befall a person, are not in accordance with our traditional understanding of justice and the Good. This traditional understanding must be flawed. What is Good, then, in the eyes of GOD? We must look to creation, for our tradition is in contradiction. Consider that the average person experiences 'good' and 'bad' things in roughly equal proportion over their existence. They are not unduly pleasured or pained. They are perhaps content, perhaps not. We must conclude that if the world is just, it is this balance between our 'good' and our 'evil' which constitutes justice and Good in the eyes of GOD. Over the ages, we have changed the world from the way GOD originally built it, and we have corrupted our sense of justice and the Good. We have distanced ourselves from GOD for the sake of hedonism. We must close that distance. We will walk towards GOD. It will take many years. But, together, it is possible. The sparrows have told me stories of my kin -- of high elven girls before great gleaming cities, of little boys in the woods, of farmers who have burned their own fields, of skirmishes and victories in the place Men call Aethermoor. Some who have heard my call are overzealous, and some use magics. It saddens me that they are forced to use the tools of civilization, but I know that there will come a time soon that they will be able to cast down those arms, and the justice of GOD, and of all creation, will be restored. ~ March Ash You find a message on a sheaf of bark, in the ashes of a field, scrawled in tree sap.
  17. ~| The Filthy Tongue |~ The Aspects are symbols, and symbols are profane, another tool of the City. The Aspects and the balance are not the same thing. While you might be gifted a harvest from the bosom of Cerridwen, or be torn apart by a pack of wolves under the call of Cernunnos, the balance is not composed of these things, in the same way that a human is not composed of their clothing. The poet Mekd lo Nrap claimed that "all we perceive is paint upon the veil, when the Immortal is merely air and scent". The Aspects are just that, aspects. They are anthropomorphizations of a divinely-ordained natural order. The exact essence of that order goes beyond the scope of this missive, and I will set apart some time in the future to discuss it. The Aspects, however -- they are called the Green Lady and the Horned Man, growth and decay, life and death. We use them to represent the cycle of life and death. We decided they were separate people, because it is easier in the mind to believe our gods are simply 'magical' folk rather than the truly alien creatures they really are. So, too, it is easier to believe that the cycle of life and death is two halves, when it is really one whole. We have made idols of the limbs of our god, and forgotten to worship its face. Animals and plants are divine. It is impossible for them to imbalance the world, because from their minds to their guts, they are creations of the world. What they do is in accordance with the natural order, because they are the natural order. We were created with the ability to learn how to halt the cycle of life and death. Many say the Aspects gifted us with intelligence, but this is only half-true. Their gift was wisdom; how to use our knowledge in a way which is harmonious with the natural world. Of course, we have squandered that gift. Though there were those of us who have done all we can to maintain the balance, it has not been enough, and civilization has risen all the same. So, the world has been made unbalanced. In our hubris, we believe we can stand against nature. However, the beasts and wild things, the storms and stone, they could rise up and strike us down. Yet, they have not. It is only by the mercy of the Aspects that we have not been ground into oblivion, and our remains trampled into oceans and fields. However, this mercy is not eternal. There will be a time when the Aspects come to believe that we will never change, and will unleash every horror at their disposal to wipe us clean from creation. I have chosen to spare the sparrows a query of how well you performed in my last task. You already know in your hearts if you succeeded. This next task, however, I will not spare them. Any of you, or all of you. Memorize a map. A map of your village, of a cave system, of the living body. It does not matter. Then, burn the map. In a world which is natural, we do not have the luxury of logging our surroundings in symbols. We must be willing to hold that knowledge within us. Show that you are dedicated to the cause of restoring balance to this world. I ask this of you. ~ March Ash You find a message on a sheaf of bark, scrawled in animal blood. 21. ~| The Filthy Tongue |~ The Forest is not just a collection of trees -- it is a spiritual place that everything will return to, if given enough time. And like the Forest, the City is also a spiritual place, greater than the sum of its cobbles. But the City doesn't come from the World. The City comes from the mind of Men, and distances us from the natural and the Good. The struggle between the City and Forest goes on, even today. Floodgates are constructed, mines are dug, walls are built, and though they might be maintained for a time, it is inevitable for nature to reclaim all those things. They are all attempts at preservation, when the only real constant is change. It is a mistake to believe that both sides are equal in this struggle. Only one of these can exist without the other. The City is a parasite. It uses the resources of the Forest to build itself up, but when it runs out of lands to desecrate, it collapses, utterly and completely. It does all it can to halt the cycle of life and death, while relying on that same cycle for its well-being. True immortality is not found in the stability of bricks and mortar, but in a oneness with the natural world. The sparrows spoke to me of a dam sabotaged in the Kingdom of Urguan, and of two pens burned, one in Oren, and the other in Laureh'lin. I heard also of smaller acts of freedom, of dogs loosed and livestock returned to the wilds. This shows great devotion, and some of you may even be ready to join me -- and to those few, I will contact in my own ways. There are others who reject the notion of chaos. They believe their towers will stand forever against the test of time. They feel it in their deepest guts that their line will last thousands of generations, to times unending. This is not true. If you truly believe this, then I suggest you do the following: pick up any historical tome from your local library, and read over the chapters concerning ancient empires of the past. You must recognize that there is very little, if nothing, which truly separates you and your kin from all those past empires, and that there is nothing stopping you from meeting the same fate as they did. Now, I will offer you another task. Any of you, or all of you. Strip naked, and sit down amongst the wilds. Lay claim to the redwoods and shedgrass, feel the twigs break beneath your feet, taste the sap leaking from the trees. Nurture the rage within you that burns with the knowledge all these things are under threat, and that all that stands between them and destruction is your fists, teeth, and fury. Show that you are dedicated to the cause of restoring balance to this world. I ask this of you. ~ March Ash You find a message on a sheaf of bark, scrawled in animal blood. 22. No. They could forsake the Rurics and take their items out of Seahelm, but if they did so, it would break the laws of the Monks. Their items would be taken and distributed to the attackers, and they would be banished from the realm for 1 Elven week or so, say Ti'gobser. They could also refrain from participating in the war, instead of explicitly forsaking the Rurics -- but they still couldn't take their items out of Seahelm, meaning that their items would end up taken by the attacker's forces if they win the claim.
  23. Are you a moron? The monks are the ones who instituted the no-taking-your-items rule, says Ti'gobser.
