  2. Vagud begins to get worried about a sudden rise in the worship of Thulezia and an influx of Elves looking to capitalize on the increased focus on breeding.
  3. Position applied for: Master of Agriculture Name: Saraid a'Conchiba Race: Mali'aheral Do you currently live within the Dominion?: Not formally Do you have any relevant experience?: I set up the farms ((OOC)) MCname: 2samspam Timezone: EST Skype: You have it
  4. The Yazgurten nods in approval at the treaty. "As backwards as it may seem for an Orc to say this, I am happy to hear that peace is finally on the horizon. I hope all members of the Dominion will feel confident in visiting and selling or buying goods in San'Torr."
  5. Come and get some prime real estate in an emerging market!

  6. The stalls and shops in the Rex’s Market at San’Torr are now formally open to be purchased by any aspiring merchant, be they human, Uruk, or possibly even Kha. Any who are interested in opening up a shop are encouraged to come and seek out the Yazgurten Vagud’Gorkil. Those that are interested Merchants or shopkeepers, especially those that are not Orcs or honoraries, have a number of rules that they are expected if they wish to open shops in the city. Foreign merchants must show a level of respect and understanding for Orcs and Orcish culture. People who are accused of disrespecting Orcs, Orcish culture, or getting into arguments and/or injuring an Orc outside of a klomp will be punished as seen fit by the Rex or Yazgurten. All merchants shall not, under any circumstances, swindle or mislead customers by lying to them about the quality of a product in an attempt to make more money. Instead of a traditional tax, shopkeepers will pay the Yazgurten or Rex in materials or products of your trades (i.e. a smith can hand over an iron chest plate, a miner can hand over iron or coal, etc.) that would be, based on the average price of that product in the market, equivalent in value to that of the tax. The Yazgurten or Rex might occasionally request that you give specific items for the tax. If the requested items go over the value of the tax, the shopkeeper will not be overtaxed and will instead be exempt from taxation until the amount owed in tax is equal to the value of the items taken. Shopkeepers who openly practice voidal magic in Orcish lands will not be tolerated, and anyone who practices it must notify the Yazgurten of their abilities, who may decide to apply special restrictions or rules to you as he and/or the Rex see fit. While competition between merchants is encouraged, sabotaging a competitor is strictly forbidden. If you have an issue with a fellow shopkeeper, klomp it out. All merchants who follow these rules will be considered, for all intents and purposes, guests in Orcish lands and will as such be protected so long as they abide by the laws of Krugmar. If they do not, they will be punished accordingly based on both traditional Orcish punishments and additional taxes or even the cessation of your shop. But exceptional behavior from shopkeepers will be rewarded with an assortment of things, including but not limited to: assistance in acquiring materials, leeway in taxation. Foreign merchants who have sold in Orcish lands for a long time and have become outstanding members of Orcish society may be offered the status of honorary Orc. Construction of new stalls or shops is not allowed until all existing shops are taken, and it will be strictly overseen by the Yazgurten. Prices Small Stall (7 available): 80 minas, 15 mina tax Tavern: 450 minas, 80 mina tax

  10. "Maybe nub az gently az mi would have blahed id...bud Drokon iz duin duh right ting. Hopevully Zhagaraff ken peep how muj we need dem." Vagud lets out a small sigh as he gets to work on cataloguing the sets of armor neatly stowed away, frustration seeping into his voice as he counts the sets out aloud.
  11. This and my sig are my favorite. Both of which are referring to the same event actually. Next one is my attempts at being a lovely diplomat and trying to become friends with the previous Dwarven king.
  12.  Come get your gold carrots buckos.

  13. Throughout the major cities and farms of Axios, cloth-like pieces of paper have been hung up near doors or stables. Selling Golden Carrots "Selling golden carrots at prices lower than anywhere else on the market at 10 minas a carrot. If you are interested, contact Vagud'Gorkil. 14. The following parchment is passed out to all registered members of Krugmar by a team of goblins. With most of our brethren catalogued, the Yazgurten has finally completed his promised pairings. The following list will show who you are paired with. You are expected to work with your pair to improve the economy, your own craft, and hopefully create a newfound sense of brotherhood and friendship between the citizens of Krugmar. These pairings are based off of your professions so that you and your pair should be able to sustain each other and provide for both your pair and Krugmar. Your pairing will not change unless your pair is dead or otherwise unable to work. Vruk' Braduk, Boneuk' Raguk, and Baba Ganoush Drokon'Ugluk and Zlazh'Yar Vagud'Gorkil, Moreg'Ugluk, and Aukha'Raguk Vaktizmo'Azog, Nazark'Gorkil, and Barash'Lak Gholug'Braduk and Shreck'Lak Starting in the next cactus day, every member of Krugmar's workforce have quotas they must meet. These quotas are expected to be met by supplying to your pairs through a chain, so if you are a miner and you are paired with a blacksmith, you should supply your partner with iron so that they can produce armor. Quotas will be handed out to each pair individually due to how different most of the groups are. If you are unable to fulfill a quota, notify the Yazgurten to discuss it. If you are not on this list, notify the Yazgurten so that he can pair you and you can begin working.
  15. That is a problem because, due to that, Orcs would need to choose fight. But I think our blessing is a little bit more important as to why we can't.
  16. We are making changes though. We've stopped raiding for the most part (read: except for one or two new players), abolished slavery, and tried to become more interesting tips interact with and more acceptable to these powers. I, for example, have done work to make Gorkil, one of the clans most revered for fighting and 'savagery' as some might put it, into something that will not jeopardize our nation. I understand where you are coming from, though. I will not discard your points or devalue them. Elves had to change to survive with little uproar, while now Orcs are constantly whining and trying to be saved by GMs or admins. But, as I have said in my previous post, Orcs are bound by their lore, their blessings and curses. We are changing as much as we can, but the severe limitations set by both our curse and our blessing make it difficult to adapt in a way that will appease Oren or other powers while not breaking lore. And as I've said, we have been changing. But even with all that, we are constantly getting warred or antagonized or otherwise having our progress towards changing impeded.
  17. I can attest that we have, in fact, given diplomacy a chance. Some of our leaders have had extensive talks in an attempt to actually get a chance to rebuild. And the reason so many Orcs have been against the terms given is because we flat out cannot accept them. Orcs are, by nature, proud and strong believers in honoring their ancestors, and would not break down and submit in order to save themselves, as doing so would be spitting in the faces of their ancestors and, here is the big thing, DISHONORABLE. Doing so would be doubly hard based on the Orcish code of honor which, due to out blessing, we would have to follow. So we are stuck in a situation, both IC and OOC, where we are committed to roleplaying and following our lore, and have made leaps and bounds toward trying to adjust how we act to be less antagonistic. We have, ares I already said, engaged in extensive peace talks with other major leaders to try and change the terms so that we can maybe get some respite from the constant string of warclaims we have seen since the start of Axios.
  18. Could an FM please pin this in the Orcish subforum?

  19. Vagud stepped out of the Gorkil clan hall and into the bright midday sun, holding a length of parchment filled with neat, ornate writing. He let out a loud shout, signaling for his brothers to come gather in front of his clan hall. Once a sizable crowd has gathered, the Yazgurten cleared his throat and began to speak in a booming voice. “As the Yazgurten, at the request if our Rex Drokon’Ugluk, I have been tasked with trying to improve all sorts of matters in Krugmar. The economy, production, trade, and so on. What I have here in my hand describes the reforms I will be putting in place to improve our nation. These reforms mainly focus on you, the workers and the people of Krugmar, to make our land rich.” _____________________________________________________________________________ Quotas Workers in Krugmar are assigned yearly (read: weekly) quotas based on their jobs. These quotas are subject to change based on the needs of not just the Rex or the Yazgurten but of its populace at large. These quotas are designed to meet the needs of the nation while spreading these requirements out over the populace so that people do not become reliant on one single person or that person is not overworked. People who exceed their quotas are given rewards based on both how far they go over the quota and if they do it consecutively. Rewards can range from minas to green or other luxury items to higher grade materials or tools for their profession. If matters come up where someone does not feel they are able to meet their quota, speak with the Yazgurten about adjusting the quota for that year or notify him of why you might be unable to meet the quota. Having your quota not met without any explanation given to the Yazgurten beforehand will result in a stern warning. Not meeting your quota again will result in minor punishment such as community service (working on the city or other public works). Not meeting your quota again will result in more severe punishments such as branding. Pairing The work force of Krugmar works under the use of a pairing system and sharing resources for the betterment of the nation. All Uruks enrolled in this system, which should be every citizen of Krugmar, will be paired up with up to two other workers based off of their professions. These people are expected to work together in order to fulfill their quotas and to help each other improve in their professions. You are expected to try and get along with your pair, no matter the clan. New partners will be assigned only if one of the previous partners dies or becomes indisposed. Trade With these reforms, a large amount of the focus and importance has been set upon Krugmar. And while yes, the nation's needs are extremely important and we need our workers to help in fulfilling those needs, the current Yazgurten is a big believer in trade and encouraging Uruks to partake in it. And as such, Uruks who seek to open shops, either abroad or in Krugmar, will have lower quotas and receive assistance from the Yazgurten in opening up and becoming profitable. If an Uruk chooses to open up a shop abroad, they may receive assistance from the Yazgurten to help in paying for the shop. _____________________________________________________________________________ "In order for these reforms to work, and I know they work because some of these have been done in some capacity in the past, I require every brother to fill out a form so we can properly assign people and get this started as quickly and smoothly as possible."

  21. "And beyond Oren? What about in Sutica? Or wherever there might be Undead? We are not going to simply jump to arms whenever an Undead crosses our borders. We are going to actively hunt them down and destroy them. Can you say you have been effective in that? Due to the fact that so many Undead pop up not just in your cities, but everywhere in the world and for most of recorded history, clearly you, and countless other orders like yours, have not." Says Vagud.
  22. Character Portrait Sketch, Polished, or Color: Sketch Character Name: Vagud'Gorkil Age: 62 Gender: Male Race: Uruk Link to Character's In-Game Skin (optional): http://imgur.com/a/p4d0W Flowery Physical Description: Vagud is a very serious looking dark red Uruk, his face usually stuck in a small scowl and, while he is not the most muscular or the tallest Uruk, he stands proud and confidently. He has two extremely large tusks, and sunken, topaz yellow eyes. His head is almost completely bald, the only hair on it being his eyebrows and eyelashes. Clothing (this will only be visible from the shoulders up): A wolf pelt draped around his broad shoulders, and a leather strap the runs diagonal across his chest.
  23. Vagud brought the bowl up to his mouth and took a swig. His eyes bugged out, his mouth scrunching up in obvious distaste for the drink, and swallowed it as fast as he can.
  24. Vagud looked over at the cauldron and raises an eyebrow. After a second of inspecting the cauldron he dropped the raven's head onto the forest floor, stood up and walked over to the cauldron. The Wargoth grabbed one of the nearby cups and looked down at the red mixture in the cauldron. He took a deep breath, leaned down, and dipped the bowl into the brew, quickly scooping up a fair portion. After glancing down at the bowl, he lifted the bowl up out of the cauldron and turned, briskly heading back toward his seat.
  25. "Aha! Finally!" Vagud shouts excitedly, his voice echoing through the snowy ravine he had spent most of the afternoon searching and scaling the slick cliffs, falling and getting up over and over to the point that the large, roughly sewn together coat and mittens he had made days before had torn to near shreds, leaving large swaths of cut and bruised skin exposed to the elements, until he finally spotted a solitary flower growing on the edge of the cliff-a silver line. Vagud’s typical cold demeanor is all but gone, replaced with a look of joy and serenity, despite having endured this frigid temperature for almost two hours at this point, as he pressed himself up against the wall of the ravine, smoothed over with ice, and moved his feet just the tiniest bit across the ledge, carefully judging each movement in an attempt to stay on the ledge and not fall back down and potentially do more than just scrape himself against the walls. This minute movement, this moment of absolute concentration, lasted for nearly four minutes, before finally resting his foot on the outcropping that hosted this lone flower. Vagud’s eyes lit up, his yellow pupils glittering like topaz, as he bent down and reached out to grab the flower, his callused fingers reaching as far into the crag that hosted the flower and, with a delicacy of an Elf handling one of their lovers, began to carefully extract it, trying not to damage its roots or the stem enough for it to be irreparable. Vagud licked his freezing lips, his eyes narrowing in concentration as the delicate flower’s roots were disconnected from the near frozen soil and rock. The ravine was dead still, the only movement being the light snowflakes that fell, and the entire world seemed to fall silent. Vagud’s intense concentration, and the near unnatural silence surrounding him was suddenly interrupted by the shrill shriek of a raven as it dropped down into the ravine. The sudden disruption caused Vagud’s arm to jerk back, the top half of the flower tearing off and leaving the rest of the stem and its roots half dangling out of the rock. Vagud stared at the ruined stem in his hand, barely moving except for a minor twitch of his eye. He stood like this for almost 10 seconds before his face twisted into a gruesome snarl, his once joyous eyes replaced with ones filled with pure, unbridled rage. He tossed the now ruined flower out of his hand and punched at the ice covered ravine, creating a rather large dent in the stone beneath. He looked around wildly for the source of the intrusion, before finally setting his eyes on the dot of black in the pristine white snow on the floor if the ravine. He let out a growl and jumped off of the outcropping, falling 18 feet and landing on his stomach with a thud on the deep, partially frozen over snow. With barely a second passing, he pushed himself up and onto his feet, immediately charging at the small bird. ~ As the sun began to set, Vagud arrived at the location, the head of the raven in one hand, the note attached to it in the other, and a tiny rutsack tied around his hip. He looked around the area for a second before acknowledging the other Uruks there with a bow of his head, still looking extremely miffed about what had happened. He looks at the cauldron in the center of the room and sighs. “Diz beddur be wurv id.” He grumbles, taking a seat in the least occupied part of the room.
