  1. How would they know they died there, though? Wouldn't that be metagaming?
  2. Vagud takes a few steps back toward where he was once the uproarious goblin is gotten rid of and shakes his head. "Nub, nub. We ur nub duh Uzg fur now. We ur divrunt. 3. Vagud glares at the goblin from across the room, shaking his head. He takes a couple steps toward the goblin and sighs. His face has shifted from his stock mild scowl to a venom drenched glower. "Lat haz gahk joyzez. Azh. Leave, never come back, agh hope lat never peepz any ov uz again. Dub. Ztay agh ged duh zkah kicked owd ov lat by mi, plenty ov uddur Urukz in duh room, agh duh Muyakelg. Zo do dat while mi iz ztill tinkin agh nub flattin lat."
  4. A dark red Uruk quietly opens the door and walks in, carefully trying to avoid interrupting the voting taking place currently in place. He moves himself to a fairly unoccupied corner and listens to the group's discussion, waiting for a lull in the conversation before clearing his throat. "Mi ez zorreh fur bein late. Mi wuz blahen wiv zome ztowtz." The Uruk bows his head at the wargoths and council members in the room. "Fur doze dat do nub gruk mi, mi ez Vagud, Waghgoff ov Gorkil. Bud we muzd improve on id agh make id zo dat we can bikom wealvy agh ztrong like we azhze were."
  5. It halves the damage taken from Dragon-type moves by affected Pokémon (regardless of whether the user of the move is affected by Misty Terrain). If Misty Terrain is in effect, Nature Power becomes Moonblast, Secret Power uses the animation of Fairy Wind and may lower its target's Special Attack, and Camouflage causes the user to become Fairy-type. Natural objects disappear and cannot be destroyed while Misty Terrain is in effect.
  6. "If that is how you view our culture, then don't bother visiting our 'tribes'. Show some level of respect for us savages before deciding to come, or you might find yourself being on the receiving end of our grim practices." Vagud thinks to himself, preparing to write up a note to the druid but then realizing that he is not next to the druid, or in any way capable of hearing him. He then shrugs, slightly confused at how the thought came to him, and resumes his tamer barbarisms.
  7. "Owr pazd ritualz will be ztayin fur now. Mi ez blahen ubowd duh janje in prioridiez for owr clan. Wub mi haz right now iz juzd uh janje in lawz." The Wargoth says reassuringly to his fellow Gorkil.
  8. "Blahz duh Lak, duh clan whoze whole reazon fur exizdin iz bikoz duh zwamp makez lat feel like uh howler in heat." Vagud says derisively to the unnamed ork.
  9. The small and mostly empty clan hall of Gorkil, filled only by a table, a solitary candle, and its Wargoth, stands quiet in the cool desert night. While most other Uruks were sleeping, Vagud stayed up, slowly adding onto the parchment lying on the table with a chunk of charcoal filed down to a point. Work had started on this document two days ago, and he had been working tirelessly on it, rarely leaving the clan hall for anything other than a short break. And still Vagud sat there, pausing and writing for hours. As the sun began to crest over the horizon and the sky brightened in the endless expanse of the desert, Vagud rose. He dropped the hunk of charcoal that had shrunk to the size of a human’s finger over the days, and looked over the now filled up parchment. He let out a small laugh, both out of relief for finally being done, and due to his exhaustion finally beginning to set in on him, and carefully picked the document up. He looked outside, at the slowly rising sun, and nodded. “Now to call for my brothers.” The remaining Gorkils gathered rather quickly in front of the clan hall, a tiny crowd surrounding Vagud. He surveyed the crowd, nodded once, and cleared his throat. "Change.” He boomed, the crowd immediately falling still. “Change is something that scares a very large amount of people. People can be scared that a change can go wrong, or that the change is not in their best interests. However, we must change. We must change not just for our sake, but for the sake of the world. Much has changed from when the clan was first started by Angbad. And I believe it must change again, in order to bring the clan further and to make it better suited for this day and age. “The days of Orcish rampage across the world are, for now, over. We are not like how we once were, where we could travel down a great road and raid the taverns along it. We are living in a time when we are far too weak to be like we once were. And Gorkil goes directly against that. So I shall shift Gorkil from a clan centered around war and bloodlust to one about endurance and strength of both mind and body. Gorkils should strive to strengthen themselves by living a life with little to no excess, living with only the bare minimum of food and little in the ways of distractions or unessential things in life, outside of books or the pursuit of knowledge and strength. With this, our willpower and strength will reach to new heights as we steel ourselves by practicing on denying even these base desires. “This clan has always done fairly little in the terms of spirit worship, compared to other clans. I believe that should be changed, and we should worship above all a very important group of spirits: our ancestors. Be it Gorkil, Lur, Rax, Dom, Angbad, Mogroka, or the countless other outstanding Uruks, they are the reason we are here. The reason not just Gorkil is here, but the reason you and I stand here today. They are more than deserving of our praise, and we must remember to thank them, to make them proud of us as their descendants, the ones who have been given the world they helped to shape. These Uruks, who we should all strive to be like and to be as powerful, as clever, as fast, as influential as these Uruks were. “And there is a virtue that I hope to instill in all Gorkils. I will not ask of much from my brothers. I encourage my Gorkil brothers to take their own path, not to follow one specific profession or life. Be a trader who deals with Dwarves and Elves, or own a ranch and breed the finest horses in the world. I ask all of my brothers to do one simple thing: be what they want to be. I will still call for all of you, and you will have obligations to the clan, but I ask-no, I demand that you show the world that we, the Uruk race, are not just mindless warriors, a single track for millions of people. Show them what we are capable of, and make them understand who we are. We are Uruks! We are Gorkils!” The Laws of Gorkil If a Gorkil finds a person who is injured or starving, be they Uruk, human, kha, or any other race, and this person has done nothing to harm them or another Uruk, it is a Gorkil’s obligation to assist them by tending for their wounds, bringing them to a doctor or healer, or feeding them and offering them shelter. A Gorkil must not back down from a fight if they are issued a challenge in one on one combat. Other forms of cowardice are not tolerated. A Gorkil is to limit his eating of food, smoking green or other narcotics, and other unnecessary sources of pleasure to a minimum. Excess is only allowed after a successful klomp, a hunt, or if offered it as a guest. If the Wargoth demands something, a Gorkil should comply without question. A disagreement between two brothers must first be sorted out by talking with each other and trying to reach an understanding. If they fail to come to an understanding, they will have an honor klomp. Betraying a brother, no matter the clan, is strictly forbidden. Once a year, a Gorkil is expected to provide an offering to an ancestral spirit. Punishment Breaking any of these laws is very serious. Should one be foolish enough to do so, they will be bet with an array of punishments. For leaving an injured or starving person or indulging in excess, you will be forced to fast for one week. If you repeat this offense, you will be cast up into a freezing mountain and forced to fend for yourself for two weeks. If you repeat this a third time, you will be killed by lacerations to the neck. If you back down from a fight or cower, you will have your fingernails torn off of you. If you do this again, you will be branded with the word ‘coward’ on your forehead. If this is done again, you will be cast out from the clan and made a whitewash. For not following the Wargoth’s orders, you will have your right hand crushed with a hammer. If this offense is repeated, you will be branded with the word ‘disgrace’ and cast out from the clan. For betraying a brother, you will have your neck lacerated with a rusty dagger. For not offering to a spirit at least once a year, you will be forced to fast for one month and provide an exceptional tribute to several spirits.
  10. Not particularly cringe I think. The real cringe for me is going on a year long hiatus and completely forgetting everything about him, so he was completely different from how I originally intended him to be.
  11. The Orc settlement by Sutica is mostly the shamans. The Orc settlement they're talking about is where most of the other non-whitewashes are. So people who were around for Vailor, however at this point quite a few of the characters that contributed to that have died. As for the topic on hand, I am slightly annoyed at what has been happening to Orcs lately. I don't have a problem with Oren having a problem with us from an RP perspective. It makes sense. I'd hate us, too, if most of the interaction I had with Orcs was them coming to steal your wives and valuables. I don't have a problem with racism in game. I enjoy it a bit, honestly. Don't enjoy the getting killed part as much, usually because I'm in the middle of trying to do something at the time, but that's my problem, not theirs. What I DO have a problem with, though, is that our community and player base is dwindling. And some would argue that people are intentionally trying to make Orcs seem like a bad idea to play. I think there might be some credence to that theory in some way, and there are certainly a lot of things that people have done, intentionally or not, to give Orcs the hardest time possible. I mean no disrespect toward Jonificus, he is a great guy and the person that got me to join this server, but take, for example, the ivory collecting act or whatever it was called, where people would get paid for the tusks of Orcs. I don't have a problem with that from an RP perspective. I think it makes sense, and I think in a different scenario, it might have worked. But the reason I have a problem with it is twofold. First, the numbers on the sides are so lopsided. If you went to the Orcish capital at most times of the day with 4 buddies of yours, you could probably find a sole Orc. Second, that closes up an insanely large amount of the map for people who will try to roleplay in other places. And if they do go to Oren, where 60% of the roleplay is going to be happening, they'll risk getting killed by a metasquad brigade of wandering militiamen. With all that in mind, why would you want to play an Orc? It just doesn't sound like fun, right?
  12. Tell me about your character. What race are they? What is their in-character job? What professions do you have on that persona? My Orc works as a merchant of sorts, selling a large assortment of wares including leather, farming products, ingots, and narcotics. My High Elf does not really work right now, she is more of a vagrant who just wanders (a contributing factor to this, though, is I don't play her that much anymore). My Orc is a masterful miner, veteran farmer, and adept leatherworker. my High Elf is a veteran breeder and adequate chef. - Why did you choose the professions you chose? What made you pick it over all the rest, even those who don't have a ton of players already working on them? Do your professions match your character's roleplay/in-character profession? I chose most of my professions based more on needs right now. On my Orc, I went with miner mainly in order to help supply the Orcish community, however I chose farmer for several reasons, most importantly because he is very interested in botany and also because he planned to become very invested in the narcotics business. My other character, I chose those professions based on jobs I recently had. I tend to switch around professions on that persona a lot due to her tending to work in a very large amount of different fields and is very adaptive. - How many minas do you have on that persona? On all your personas? How many minas do you gain in a week? I do not put a very large emphasis on money due to the fact that I tend to not buy a whole lot of things. On my Orc I currently have 143 minas, and on my High Elf I have 38 minas. I do not gain many minas, partially due to my own failures as a merchant but mainly due to my focus on other things.* - What do you spend your money on? What do you save up for? What's something you want to buy but don't have enough for? I typically spend my money on my Elf on alcohol, and not a whole lot else. I am currently saving up on my Orc for a couple things. First, to pay for my college tuition. Second, to buy a monster hunting license. And third, to buy a stall or shop somewhere.* - How often do you trade items for minas? If you're a crafter, approximately how many crafts do you sell? I sell items for minas occasionally, but not particularly often. * - Have you ever seen a nexus item (read: non RP) that you've gone "That's a pretty good item. I'm going to spend minas to buy it."? If so, what has it been? Nothing really comes to mind. Usually I buy items just out of need for them rather than looking for quality, instead opting for whatever seems to be the cheapest or a good middle ground between price and quality.
  13. Time to figure out a way to monetize fast travel
  14. I'm sure I had some very amazing moments back on Athera, however due to me leaving the server and then coming back late Vailor, I can't for the life of me remember them. The one thing that comes to my mind for my overall favorite RP moment is when someone confessed their love to me as they were dying. I froze up and, being not particularly good with romance, kneeled down and hugged him as he died. This lead to an IRL week long period where I become severely depressed because a. I held a man who had just confessed his love to me as he died, and b. all I did was give him a hug due to my character's cowardice and hatred of all things romantic. My already severe alcoholism got ramped up to the extreme with me stealing two full kegs of rum and vodka that he had left for the local tavern and bringing them to my home. I had very few conversations at this time, as I spent most of my time in my home. The few times I did interact with people I had to act very different from how I usually do. Subdued, extreme self hatred, and a fear of any show of affection, be it romantic or just from friends. I have to admit, I don't remember what exactly ended this period. I know that there were several instances that lead to me slowly beginning to warm up to the world again, like a short excursion to the Library of Dragur to pick up a book, but I don't remember much else.
  15. I hate voting. It feels like cheating.

  16. They already can. Goblins are perfectly capable of speaking common if they have small/nonexistant tusks. When I played a goblin, I spoke common when not around other Orcs, albeit with an accent.
  17. Name: Vagud'Gorkil Age: 59 Race: Uruk Subject you wish to major in: Medicine
  18. The biting cold of Ceru was, to Vagud, almost unbearable. Despite the extended periods of time he has been spending there, he still has a very hard time adjusting to the climate which was almost alien to him. It was nothing like the glaring sun of the desert or the humid, mosquito infested jungle that had once been home. The coolest climate he had ever had to call home or spend more than a week's worth of time in was the swamp, but that was temperate enough to be bearable. But here on Ceru, where each breath is visible, was where he had begin to gravitate towards after the nearly four years of living more or less on his own in the wilderness of Axios. And yet, despite his slight shivering and his ears stinging from the cold, he stood stoically on the bridge connecting Sutica to its expansive farmland, watching the roads as people passed by on horse, on foot, or, in the case of one aristocrat, by carriage. He surveyed the rolling hills and the dense forest across from it for a moment before noticing a small band of Uruks coming down the road toward Sutica. He smiled weakly as he looked the gathering over. It consisted of two people: the one other Gorkil aside from him and Grool, and one brother who had shown interest in joining Gorkil. Vagud let out a small sigh, distressed at the size of the congregation, and walked over to the end of the bridge, meeting the group at the intersection between the bridge and the dirt path. Vagud cleared his throat once the Uruks were gathered in front of him and wasting no time in starting his speech. "Brothers, I am glad that you have gathered here." He said tersely, shifting his posture so he was standing tall and proud over his brothers. "I will keep this short and say why I have called for the Gorkils to come and meet here in Sutica. Our Wargoth, Grool'Gorkil, has stepped down. He told me that he believes he is becoming too old to hold such a position, and that the clan needs new blood. New leadership. And he chose to hand the title of Wargoth over to me." He paused for a brief second, both to gauge the reaction of the small crowd in front of him and to take a deep breath. "I have not been a Gorkil for very long. There is still much I need to learn about us and our history for me to truly be worthy of the title. But I will make sure I am worthy of being a Wargoth for this clan, and that our brothers not just in blood, but in spirit, will see a clan that is truly worthy of sharing the name of Gorkil. "But this will be difficult, and I hope that I can rely upon you, my brothers, to help me to bring glory to not just this clan, but to every descendant of Krug. The Uruk race, from our smallest brothers to those that rival bears in size, is struggling right now. The once mighty clan of Gorkil, the clan that has given the Uzg in all its forms the most Rexes out of all the clans, has been reduce to-" he gestures to the group in front of him. "-this. A clan the size of an Elven family. And many clans are like this now. I will try my hardest to make Gorkil a clan that is respected not just by our brothers, but by the world. I will make sure that we can keep the legacy of Gorkil, one of Krug's sons, alive. Ang Gijak-Ishi!"
  19. Two double chests full of stuff got deleted thanks to worldedit. I have reached levels of salt I have not felt in a very long time.

      ski_king3

It was almost certainly a mistake, world edit isn't the most versatile tool and unfortunately that sort of stuff happens. If you lost super valuable stuff, I'd suggest reaching out to the Tahmas, otherwise just give it a few and do something else.

    2. 2samspan

      2samspan

No, don't worry, I understand it was a mistake, and really it was my own fault for placing the chest in a not particularly easy to see place. Thanks for the suggestion to talk to Tahmas, though. I'll make sure to talk to him once I feel slightly less salty.

    3. ski_king3

      ski_king3

No worries dude, I encountered lots of angry folks back in the day, and 99% of the time in this sort of situation it's an honest mistake.

  20. lol ur a funny guy ??? keep up the good work m'dude!
  21. I have two kinds of roleplay, one lighthearted and one more serious and mentally demanding, that I would count as my favorite, when done correctly. The first is roleplay where you're character is messing around with some other people and you're all just having fun. What I mean by this is the realistic and humanizing Seinfeld-esque conversations and scenarios people can put themselves into with a bunch of friends when you're all just having a good time. I find that sort of roleplay to be extremely relaxing, because it really makes me feel like I'm hanging out with my friends and goofing around. The second is business dealings or any sort of scenario where there is a lot of intrigue, subtle body movement, and care put into word choice going on. It really demands full attention, and when it's done correctly I think it creates these very tense and layered scenarios. And it doesn't even need to be business or a negotiation, but any conversation where there are two or more people who are really trying to outsmart each other in subtle ways, with a lot of maneuvering going on with movements, word choice, and choices for descriptions.
