I really just tried to take what was already there for owlbears made for dnd and make it my own. But Gary Gygax did originaly create them for dnd. The name OwlBear is the exact name for the OwlBears of dnd, I quoted anything I copied over exactly and I think that was just one sentence describing how they looked. Wikipedia shows Owlbears as living in caves, I changed that to a forest cave because I though that sounded better. White owlbears in a snowy caves was all original. Their attack is only really described as a hug attack with there beak as a weapon. I liked the idea of biting head off and use of the claws in addition to the hug. Head butting was original. There breeding habits and non adult size is all original as is there weight, I just took the average weight of a bear. There original is only stated at drunk wizard, I added a bit to that, because how else would such a great creature be made. The sound the owlbears make are original. Living in trees and being good at hiding is all original .they are listed as a carnivor on the wiki but I added hunting during the day and night, night vision and the 369 degree head turns.walking on hind legs and all fours was original, ariordybamic running was original, the average speed of a regular ear is 40mph so I just made it a little faster. More active at night is original , colors were original, hatching form eggs is original, maturing age and number of babies is original . The average life of 25 is just the average life of a bear. Egg incubation time was originally everything under strengths is original , hibernating in the winter is original, not having a good sense of smell is original , lots of arrows to take it down and it moving when food supply is low is original .
