  4. [!] Found amidst the gelatinous goop that grew within the center of the Lordship of Du Loc's city square: A crumpled letter, next to a bucket helm. Both rested upon the surface, waiting to be investigated by the most curious of Descendants. The fields outside of Du Loc wilted, and petals began to fall free from flowers. A horrendous smell invaded nostrils: Smelling of rotten vegetables and eggs, and flies swarmed fields and littered them with maggots. THE DU LOC WATCH 1st Quarryville Killers Patrol THE LUCKY THIRTY-BRAE, DU LOC From: Deputy, 1st Quarryville Killers Patrol, The Du Loc Watch To: The Office of the Lord Eternal, The Eternal Lordship of Du Loc, Almaris Subj: THE PRECARIOUS CASE OF DU LOCIAN SLIME Encl: (1) Artist's Depiction of the Slime Covered Square 1. Good morrow my lord. Although this letter may be for naught, as our Lordship decays before our very eyes. I understand as the Lord of Du Loc, you have a very busy schedule: Fret naught, for I, Deputy Sorden Bord, have took it upon myself to inform you of a recent event befitting investigation. Upon my many patrols of the quiet streets of Du Loc, I took my standard route to the front gates. Although the buzzing of bees have subsided since the Lectorate's departure, a rotten smell blew in from the Southern wind. It smelt of decay... Ash... Mine gaze fell upon the once illustrious fields: Dead. The wheat had wilted, fallen flaccid, and the soil was ripe with maggots. A drought, surely: Perhaps from the strange occurrences surrounding that 'Wizard King' and the Gravel Pyramid... I suppose it's going to start raining frogs next, eh? I digress my lord, what was strange about this occurrence was it happened instantaneously: Nearly in the time of one full patrol around the city. 2. As I made my way back inside the city, I had spotted a trio lingering inside in the city's square: At last, suspects! The three of them had gathered around an unexplainable anomaly-... Although, many things in Du Loc are quite unexplainable. A poignant smelling, slick, bubbling mass had grown on the surface of our very dirt roads: Weaving in-between the cobbled bricks of Kaer'Lassar... I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This goop, or, slime, bubbled with translucent boils: It was maddening. It smelt horrendous, though despite it's odd nature, it didn't look like anything that didn't come out of the sewer before. It's appearance during the outbreak of whatever sickness is ravaging the North is what was odd to me: Surely, a worthy Alchemist could figure out whether they were connected. Attached to this correspondence is an artist's depiction of the slime-covered square: They insisted on this cubism style, claiming it's their real perception of our world. Nevertheless, take a gander when you've the chance my lord. 3. Do inform the Lectors that I believe they left one of their strange metal-men inside of their former Temple. It is quite eerie to hear that surreal voice box during the graveyard shift, always droning on about "Daisy, daisy...", It makes the hair standup on the back of my neck. (1.) 7. [!] That log found its way in the deep crevices of many vessels: Hidden away from masked assailants that meant to confiscate any bit of contraband. Yet, GOD's servants were dutiful, and as that scroll passed from one hand to another, so too did one get returned. Before long, a dingy Oyashiman fishing vessel had arrived: BG-II, or rather, 'Abe', made sure it found it's way to Felder's Rock, within the hands of Arch-Lector Danzen. THE LECTORATE OF OWYN THE GREATER FLAME ARD'KHARYLL, GAEKRIN From: Lord Arch-Lector of the Lectorate of Owyn To: Arch-Lector, Flaming Covenant Cohort, Felder's Rock, Almaris Subj: IN MEMORIAM BROTHER TEMESCH 1. We of the Greater Flame mourn the death of Brother Ioannes Temesch. The Flaming Covenant has sustained many casualties in the ever enduring war against iniquity. Many of the young Proselytes and Noviates of Ard'Kharyll have been following the ever growing legend of your Cohort since the times of the Blackhide Crusade of Luciensburg: The names of Lector-Explorator Gamov, Brother Sisko, Brother Isaac, Lector-Explorator Paco, Brother Jeffery, and now, Brother Temesch, forever burned in the Ashen Wall. The bells have been rung once for each of their names, Wise-Brother; a period of fasting for this week in their memory; concluding each day of our duties with chants around the pyre. 2. We of the Greater Flame admire the character of Brother Temesch, though we have not met, he was our brother: our family has endured much sorrow, but we must continue this journey in this hellscape: For we are the light in the dark that lowborn, highborn, and all that are good in their heart aspire to capture. We envy that ignorance of the true nature of our world: It is that blissful ignorance that allows the virtuous serf to live a life of faith and humility... Never does he seek the dark, for his gaze is always cast 'pon the light. 3. The Greater Flame has recalled Grand Explorator Faustinius to the Vault of the Damned: The Explorators and their machines have finally cleansed the remainder of Mor'Ton after all these years. The air is ripe with the stench of salt and soot. Many of the recovered relics of that town need to be decontaminated. Perhaps in the future, the Grand Explorator can return, but for now, his duty is here. In the meantime, the Explorators dispatched with him are transferred under the banner of the Flaming Covenant, Wise-Brother. Employ their minds and hearts, and perhaps the dregs that mean to cast their claws upon your tabards will shrivel away in sin. Lector-Explorator Janis is the point of contact in this endeavor, and he has been informed of his and his dispatches new place in your Cohort. 4. Finally: Do inform us if Brother Temesch has any living successors. A Banner of the Greater Flame will be sent to their residence for our Brother's service to GOD and GOD alone. Flame guide you, Wise-Brother.

  11. as much as i despise the evil CA bloat its almost a shame this wasn't proposed before yong ping's activity went down the drain, i'm sure it would've been pretty popular. with that, thematically, im not sure it'd really have a place to thrive in lotc among the thousands of other evil creatures that exist: especially now that there isn't an asian-centric city.
  12. lotc reaches a plateau of stagnation w/ the staleness of almaris, and i think that cliques are more deeply rooted now more than ever its a byproduct of dollhouse syndrome: people reluctant to change, even if that change means rping out of their social circle where they feel comfortable the world of lotc should feel foreign and scary-... in character. most people play out short sequences on their character while they're on the server, they don't engross themselves in the day to day of their character. the map SHOULD be more appealing filled with stuff to find, players should be empowered to wander the map and go from city to city to interact with people. . . . . but cliques are so deeply rooted that if you even so as wander chances are one group will shit talk another group and there is zero cohesion for a healthier server. discordism and rp elitism are the main causes of this mentality and the current culture of the server 7 minute walking times to a closed gate murders roleplay with strangers toxic communities that think they're better because instead of erping as elves they erp as human nobles murder rp with strangers a wholly uninteresting map and uninteresting world murders roleplay with strangers bureaucratic staff-heavy systems murder roleplay with strangers piss poor attitudes that result in calling blue jannys murders rp with strangers
