    where are the highwaymen and bandits living in old ruins, mine shafts, and campsites? y do bandits always have pvp keeps and kill instead of just taking ur coin and fleeing? where’s this guy?

      there's hardly any items worth stealing

      more profitable to vote every day and sell vortex items on auction house

      that being said, it's also difficult to get permissions to random caves/mineshafts/ruins I believe. Then again, I've never tried.

      .... but what you're saying is we should get a group together to be non-goon bandits?

      theyre not bandits theyre mercenary companies (who only contract for the biannual anti oran grievance coalition) and its unbecoming of the true claimants to the empire to live in a cave!!

       

      also even if you found an abandoned mineshaft you couldn't live in it. todd howard would be so disappointed

      It might be @NotEvilAtAll, back in Axios when we settled the westerlands the rise it was settled on had a sign on it that was simply labeled “DEATHS END”, so we named our first keep after it prior to building the city of Bastion

    so when we reach the year 2000 can i have an iPod irp? okay real constructive criticism time, i honesty DONT have much to say other than it isn’t my preference, just like getting knee deep in x player groups rp isnt my preference. i do believe once players get away from this strange obsession w/ nappy wars rp, the whole interest in this will go out. im in the camp that magic should be pretty damn powerful, and i liken LoTC more to TES than historically accurate sim. i wouldn’t have fun with a musket but i bet someone else would! with magic, the argument could be made that you have to spend real life weeks (or have a really good hookup) to learn it, it takes time. with this, it seems like any old noob could pick up a rifle and then rp landing a head shot and mercing someone. i rlly don’t want to steal a sweet roll and get gunned down by line infantry, and then be told in OOC there was no way I could’ve survived / dodged that

    some of my fondest memories were collabing w/ dark magic rpers with wlands (i know this is all i talk about its my pride and joy. created rp for the both of us, and neither party had the collective attitude of wiping out the other. at least i hope they knew that from our end. thank you again @Angmarzku & every other undead rper i worked with a couple years back hope you're well skimmed this thread as i am lazy, necromancy and undead are my favorite antag / conflict because its very clear cut and always has room for improvisation. it shouldn't be convoluted and if done correctly, can create a real sense of dread. @UnBaedsummed it up best: bumping into rando morghuuls or ghouls on the roads was awesome, ive never had a terrible experience with them and more often than not i've had to think outside of the box to defeat (or better, survive) something like that. everything magic and fantasy related on LoTC seems so complicated nowadays, tropes exist for a reason and going back to the basics is something welcome, at least for me

      @Nug this seems like its a common thing, that if a new magic or idea shares even the hairline similarity to another, it's instantly shot down because of that.

      You know how i do bard magic? By rolling the dice and watching how my character messes up actions he should be able to do as a travelling entertainer. Works every time.
      ((or you can say you have a magical instrument that detects it's wielders lies through breaking a string when a story is "embelished" for comedic effect.))

      V difficult brother, when creating my own rp ive found people prefer to go back to their own little hives instead.

       

      creating rp is easy when there’s something worth discovering as well, I can take someone to explore but what will we find ?
