Yea hands down, even platonic stuff both ooc and ic can be weird when there’s a big age gap. A server I used to play on was mostly like, 16-22 year olds and the owner was like, pushing 30 and it was always super weird to try and interact with him. Looking back on it he was prolly a creep, too, come to think of it 

Yea, my rule of thumb has always been don’t ic date someone you wouldn’t be comfortable talking to about this stuff irl with them (for me thats like, anyone who could feasibly attend my own school age-wise), and for cybering basically just apply whatever your rule of thumb is for actual irl sexual contact

Luckily latter isn’t much of a problem for me bc cybering is 1) Gross and 2) You can’t possibly confirm someone’s age, so you’re taking a massive risk regardless of whether you’re the older or younger party
