  2. Charlotte Augusta, in truth, had no idea the significance of these changes. She hoped that she might delve into exploring the workings of the Diet once she was remarried, seeing such knowledge as valuable for her tenure as one of the nation's future leaders. No better time than the present, she thought.

  3. 14 minutes ago, ErikAzog said:

The Duke of Adria makes plans to attend the wedding of his distant Basridi relative.

Charlotte Augusta would be informed by Philip of his intention to attend the Basridi nuptials, especially as the bride was one of his late-wife's protegees. The Dowager-Dobrov thought it would be a fine set of pace as well, her first official appearance as the Duchess of Adria being at such a jubilant occasion.

  4. Charlotte Augusta gave her assent to the invitations as they were passed before her by the Lady Governess and Majordomo. Plans were made, schedules set, and a dress was being tailored, all hurriedly as per the Emperor's command and wishes. However, the Dowager of Dobrov seemed to only focus upon what came after. The children she would become a stepmother to, and the nation that would look to her for guidance in the decades to come. How odd this all was, for a life to be changed by a few simple words, at the whim of a sovereign. She found herself both frightened and excited.

  5. The Dowager of Dobrov is delivered the study by the Majordomo, Anna d'Arkent, hoping to muse on it's statements and debate on the finer points made. For all the stresses of this past saint's week, she found the brief distraction well-suited to her, nodding in agreement.

"Yes, united by our faith in GOD, even if we're not united in our various countries. If more of Humanity listened to the words of the Princess Imperial, perhaps we could put aside our quarrels and help Almaris to flourish. In the meantime, we must try and extend our hand in friendship, Lady Anna. Elsewise, we shall get nowhere."

  6. Charlotte Augusta, in the midst of planning her second wedding at the command of the Emperor, did find time to reply to the young Prince's invitation, saying she would attend. She supposed that if she desired to be a good stepmother to the Duke of Adria's children, it was better to start now. The Dowager began pondering on what gift to give the blissful couple.

  7. From the Aldersberg apartment, the weary Charlotte Augusta was read the missive by her daughter Josephine, whilst the elder Molia prepared the former's latest illness remedy. She felt some pride in Philip's statement, though the nerves that came along with the announcement of their union still plagued her. She had gone from obscurity, to poor relation, and now she was bid to become Duchess of Adria and, one-day, Empress of Oren. Her mind was a furious storm of thoughts and emotions...and yet somehow, she felt this was GOD's doing.

[!] An advertisement, printed in vibrant inks and with careful calligraphy, is distributed throughout the Holy Orenian Empire.

In order to sponsor economic and cultural growth throughout the Empire, HIM Emperor John VIII and the management of the Augustine Palace have found it beneficial to establish a committee whose duty it shall be to sponsor Orenian subjects in the creation and management of revelry throughout the realm. The committee shall be managed by a director, who serves at the discretion of the Crown, and is appointed under the advice of the Governor of the Augustine Palace.

The committee shall be summoned at four year intervals and be constituted by four members as well as the director. Any Orenian subject with basic event planning experience may apply to be a member of the committee, or those with a significant desire to learn the ropes of event planning. Of the accepted applicants, four will be selected via lottery to be included in the committee.

The committee shall be entitled over its duration to a budget of 500 Imperial Marks. In the case wherein they expend the budget before their term is completed, the budget may be expanded at the discretion of the Treasury Secretary.

    THE COMMITTEE

Director of the Event Committee - The Director shall serve as the president of the committee in an administrative role, aiding in the management and organization of the committee members’ events. The Director also serves as an advisor and aid for new members of palace affairs and event hosting.

Committee Member - Committee members shall have the duty to host a minimum of one event during their tenure. Their duty is to include and mentor Orenian subjects (particularly those who are inexperienced in event planning but desire to learn), through the process of organizing events and mentoring them in the structure and effective planning of successful events.

    APPLICANTS

For citizens and courtiers that find themselves interested in expanding upon their event portfolio, or wish to learn about event-planning at the highest levels of Orenian society, please fill out the questionaire below and send it by courier to the Augustine Palace! Once the application period is concluded, the raffle will be held to determine our inaugural four committee members. Those who are not pulled from the raffle may still participate in event-planning, so long as they approach the Director or offer aid to a committee member. 9. From her palatial apartments, Charlotte Augusta sat near to the crackling marble hearth, brooding over the events of the last few months. The Emperor had died, the cathedral had burned, and now her daughter was gone. What questions her younger daughter Josephine had, she could not bear to answer them. The dowager has been so sure of herself, when she had gone to confront the thing in Molia's life that had been causing her the most grief. But at what cost, when her daughter seemed to have pulled away once more? What was a mother's love worth, if it hurt your child more than anything else?

  10. Charlotte Augusta, oblivious to the youth's departure, seemed to find herself thinking of the late-Amadea and her children. Especially of the fair Amelia, who was so much like her late friend in appearance and demeanor. She prayed for them daily, hoping the Renzfield scions would, one day, find true happiness.

  11. Charlotte Augusta uttered a flurry of prayers for her bedridden uncle, who had only spoken with her in confidence just a few saint's days prior.

"Yet another Novellen on the brink of being taken from us," She'd remark to her daughter, Anna 'Moliana'. Her belief in some Augustine Curse seemed to only intensify, misfortune and grief following eachother.

  12. The Dowager of Dobrov was brought the news by her little Josephine, whom had heard from the courtiers of the ducal departure. She let free a heavy sigh, thinking back upon words spoken by her eldest, in regards to the palace and it's underlying nature. She wondered if their family was cursed, driving away those of sharpened mind in favor of continued pompous revelry.

  13. The Dowager of Dobrov glowered, observing the smoldering ruin from her window within the Augustine Palace. It seemed turmoil and destruction were never far behind her. Now, it found itself only several paces from her doorstep. That particular idea made the Princess shudder.

  15. From her hidden place upon Almaris, an ancient queen recalled the memories of Johannesburg she still held as she read the retelling of those she had once known. For Philip, her one-time tormenter, she hissed a few words in disgust.

"He reaped what he sowed. And one day, I shall gladly torment him in whatever hell he languishes in."

  16. As she awaited the refurbishment of her apartments in the Augustine, the Petite Potins seemed to leave a sour taste in Princess Charlotte Augusta's mouth.

"I gave praise where it was due. It is not my fault these young ladies desire to tear eachother down,, instead of creating lifelong memories. That was certainly not the intention of the Social Season when my aunt inaugurated it all those years ago," She'd frown deeply, realizing why she had kept away from these gossip articles even in her youth. Next time she was approached to play host again, she would simply say no.

  17. The Dowager of Dobrov seemed to relish in the company of her two daughters, finally reunited with her after years of turmoil and strife to bring them both under the same roof. Preparing to lead the Social Season's debut, she felt as if, finally, her life had returned to it's former bliss.

  18. The Dowager of Dobrov beamed at yet another publication by the incomparable Master Penton, recalling fondly his service, if only brief, as her private secretary. She sent a maid to inquire about acquiring his works in a bound volume, to add to her private collection.
