I'm just going to slide my opinion as to what we should do for future player retention.
Now, I've not been on the server very long when compared to other players posting here, and I only really experienced the last few moths of Vailor before we moved to Axios. I must say, however, the two things that caused me to stay on the server, when an orc was my first ever character, who I have kept up until today, and our capital had a maximum of three players inside it at any normal time, other than just before raids.
Firstly, we'll get onto the part that's going to sound like me whining. Oren didn't have such a big presence. Now, this isn't just for me to complain about how Oren is bad and Oren is evil, because I know for a fact that won't do anything, and I'll simply be seen as another one of the idiots that do say it. What I will say, however, is that while the axis were still intact before the (extremely laggy) warclaim, Oren didn't seem to declare war nearly as much. Sure, there would be a raid the odd time, but those were, dare I say, fun, even when we did lose. We could still talk about we were so close to winning afterwards, or how we almost downed so-and-so half way through. Now, however, Oren has inflated into something that can't be understood by the human mind. They don't bother with raiding because, well, they own everyone who they can raid. Orcs don't bother either, because they'll obviously be defeated and the entire ordeal will lead to nothing but an angry Oren knocking at their door. This was a rather long paragraph wouldn't it? My English teacher would be proud.
We now come to my second and final point. The Aethermoor Tavern and the Axis itself. I'm not sure about any of you, but personally, I remember having a lot of fun in there. It may just be me, and the fact that I quite enjoy tavern RP or casually talking to other people, but I got a real, "This place is allied with you." feeling. Nobody disliked anybody else, and when the odd fight did break out, both people could still return without any consequences except for a dirty look from the people they had fought. You could just chill there, and if an Orener set foot into it, they would have their arms wrenched clean off. This isn't to say we should kill Oren, but in my opinion, it'd be a good idea to set up a completely neutral tavern somewhere, and although I'm sure there would be a lot of fighting, I'm confident we could make it work.
This, however, is just my view on it. Any feedback is appreciated.
