  5. So what you’re saying is that its fine for you, Jallen and Dolinare to break tenets whenever it suits your needs(E.G, Hiring mercenaries and the undead to kill any Ascended who are not apart of the main order) But as soon as my friend got pushed into a political position he became the villain?
  6. The main clique of Ascended are toxic and have ruined the experience of being an Ascended for anyone who is not apart or that clique. Nothing is wront with the magic as it stands other than the main cliques ability to monopolise the magic and alienate anyone who they OOCly dislike.

  8. Linettes Lament She was the dancing bear of Curon Linette was a fool for sure And upon her nations fall This dancing bear would dance no more Married a Duke, a respectable man Ruined his house with her own two hands She liked to gloat and banter a lot And with her tongue she lost her lands Now she weeps for what she lost Linette was a fool for sure Now she whines for a shred of mercy This dancing bear would dance no more Credit to Sir Carlovac for the name.

  13. __________________________________________________________________________________ William Rubens dining and conversing with his men Candles flickered and illuminated the confines of Williams tent, casting the shadows of fierce Renatian soldiers against the backdrop. Williams' eyes were heavy and his muscles ached from the constant effort against the Norlandic people. The information which was about to be brought to him would only tire him more. "This is Disastrous," William would exclaim, his brows arching downward and his lips curling into a sour frown, which painted an angry demeanor on his face. "Now not only must we put down the Norlandic pagans and the heathens in Haense, but we must now strike against men who once served with us, too." The scene that was once filled with glee and celebration of recent victory had now turned gloomy, a vile taste of treason in the mouths of William and those who were present. "Damn the Brandts then, let them fall too should they tarnish the good name of Renatus!" said one of the Rubens bannermen who was present, and the others erupted into roars of an agreement, the scene returning to laughing and feasting once more. The men faced a long battle ahead of them and now they were given a renewed purpose; the destruction of Belvitz and its lordship.
  14. William Rubens leading his Levy, ca 1660 William Rubens rode through the gates of Cyrilsburg and following behind him were his bannermen; a few mounted soldiers, crossbowmen and a plentiful amount of pikemen. Not only were the bannermen of House Rubens present but so too were men from the Rams Brigade, the military force of White Peak. A few servants to House Rubens also accompanied William, however they were armed with nothing but stacks of fliers. The fliers would read; ISSUED BY THE HOUSE OF RUBENS 15th of the Grand Harvest 1660 An announcement to the citizens of Curon. I am sure that it is by now a well known fact that Leila and I have left Curon, or as the usurper would have you believe ‘committed treason.’ I have come to you with the intention to address such malicious accusations and to direct your attention to where it should be focused - the administration of Curon and the current state of Cyrilsburg. It should also be noted that House Rubens have never sworn fealty to the Crown of Curon and have always been a vassal under the Crown of Marna and County of Götha. ‘The Rubens have abandoned Curon.’ This I find to be the most heinous of accusations. Our departure from Curon is nothing but the result of injustice amongst the administration and the incompetence that Cyrilsburg stinks of. Prior to my sisters retirement from her position of mayor, multiple attempts on her life had been made. Despite requests for aid the Curon military refused to provide assistance in preventing these attacks, resulting in further incidents such as the Hartcold massacre. Infact the administration of Curon has now been found responsible for orchestrating these assassinations. Veres Draskovits, who is the secretary of Curon attempted an assassination on my sister not even a month after she publicly denounced the leadership of Curon. It is evident that Veres is complicit in the attempt as both he and the assailant involved fled together to Cyrilsburg, aiding one another in their escape. And yet now we also see the seed of greed that has sprouted and grown for far too long under the neglectful eye of Linette. Whom always rampant corruption, the ascension of Veres Draskovits, an incompetent and incapable leader that is only ruled by his own greed and paranoia. We did not abandon Curon, Curon abandoned us. ‘Under the reign of Linette, Curon has experienced an economic boom and increase in military prowess.’ In what sense of these words is this true? Curons economic predicament remains the same and their military is dwarfed by even vassals of neighbouring nations and the notorious Reivers banditing group, who harass Cyrilsburg with ease and are only driven away when Curon cries to members of the Northern Atlas Alliance to come save them. It is evident that Curons military situation has not improved by how little men they provide to fight against Norland. And along with a lack of men willing, and capable of fighting, it has lead to the death of many more than just noblemen and the higher echelons of Curon, but the common citizenry. Curon has behaved as nothing more than a financial and martial burden to Renatus since the very start of this war, and is far too weak to defend it self independently, as is proven by the many incursions by hostile forces. Truthfully, the only thing that has seen an upturn in Curon for the past few years and months has been Linettes ego. Through deep deliberation and many weeks of debate, suffering and death, we reconsidered our position in Curon after the vile treatment we had received from the interior, and exterior forces that lurked within its walls. We wished for a stable and secure future for all the denizens of Curon, but the Princess, Arch-Chancellor, Deputy Mayor and Marshal all stood in the way of progress. And in an effort to protect our family from the repercussions brought on by the incompetence of these people, we chose to leave, rather than die a worthless death. Our prospects, our future and our lives now reside under the watchful eye of Renatus and its vassals, to create something better from the lessons learned of Curon. Ave Rubens, Ave Renatus Signed by; Count Eimar var Burgundar, Count of Götha, Baron of Geatea, Royal Knight and Protector of the Southlands Baronet William Rubens, Baron of Leeuwenhof Leila Rubens
  15. William Rubens and a select few of his best men were present at the speech, each dressed in fine plate-mail and the well-sown colours of House Rubens. William Rubens looked on proudly as his sister denounced the hive of scum and villainy, glad that she would no longer languish in the petty walls of Cyrilsburg and that she would no longer be put in danger as a result of Curon's military incompetence. "Perhaps once the usurper is no longer on the throne, Curon will be restored to greatness." And with that William and his group of men escorted Leila back to the safety of Leeuwenhof, the Curonite guards powerless to stop them.
  16. William is hard at work constructing his keep with the aid of his siblings and bannermen when a thought pops up in his head. “Whew, I’m glad that I chose to vassalise under Count Eimar and not any of those pesky Curonites!”
  17. William Rubens would drink away in the tavern, grieving his freedom as a newly married man.
  18. William Rubens was far away from Curon, in the Dominion when news of Auralias death was brought to him. Although he cared little for the Hartcold family, he was struck by a feeling of dejection. “This is truly a shame - Lady Auralia was the only Hartcold I didn’t mind. With her passing who is to assume control over the Barony of Adylith?” He muttered to himself while looking over the fine works of the Sew and So tailor shop.
  19. William Rubens is incredibly happy with his purchase and would recommend the work of his friend Roland to anyone who was interested in Sennisten.
  20. William Rubens and his small band of men prepared to travel to the camp, each of them eager to aid Renatus in skewering the Norland pagans and the cowardly Hansetti. “This war marks the end of the vile Norland pagans. The Norland barbarians shall dread the day they chose to transgress against the might of Renatus and the good canonist men and women of Atlas.”

  23. “My sister and I won the mayoral election with legitimate votes, and it was due only to my sudden illness that my sister and Veres were forced to combine. I care not for your attempts to defame Linette, but do not drag my sister into it by fabricating news of a rigged election.” William Rubens would say upon reading ‘such as House Palaiologos, with the rigged election due to his cooperation with House de Hartcold.’
