Tianrui Ren frowns on reading the news. He hopes that the good people of Veritas can see proper justice.

FARMER, SOLDIER, ZHU [!] An Oyashiman wood block print of Yong Ping's docks at dusk. (OOC: Tsuchiya Koitsu - Takeya Ferry Crossing, 1930s woodblock) Ren glances over the golden glittering bay of the South Sea in Yong Ping's bustling harbor, his hands folding behind his waist and feet squared out of habit. It is calming, he thinks, from so far above the shouting back and forth between the dockhands in a mix of Li-Ren, Oyashiman, Hyeol-Yeon, and Common. The calls of merchants hawking their wares to travelers moving in excitedly bubbling throngs. He eyes over the districts, each easily dwarfing Tai Ping- first a tower in Talon's Grotto, then a district in Talon's Port. The seed from which the city of Yong Ping had grown. He then turns to the empty senate hall. Grand glass windows flooding the room with light and illuminating golden specks of dust trailing through the waning beams of sunlight. Rows of seating fashioned like an auditorium to ensure every voice was heard when called to speak. Ren's brow furrows slightly at that. He had not as much to say these days. Perhaps in part spending so much time on administrative duties detached him from the sense of immediacy he once experienced. Living closer to the problem oft makes it easier to solve, he thinks. As much as taking a step back does too. The Li-Ren elf looks around the room again. A step back, he thinks. His sandals tap, echoing quietly in the hall as he moves towards his office. He seats himself at his desk, hanfu settling around him in a ripple of red silk. Neat stacks of paper and scrolls pile the workspace, bare beside an ink pot and carefully kept brush. He lifts it, and begins to scribe in tight, swooping strokes FROM THE OFFICE OF THE ZHU OF THE JADE STATE Friends, countrymen, comrades all. It has been my honor to serve as representative and leader to you. I feel though I have done that which I can for now, and I wish to recommend the mantle to one who can continue my work with vigor. The Senate Council has my recommendation, and concludes their votes. You shall know who to look to next for representation and guidance as a nation soon. I in the meantime will still be here for you all, albeit apart from the position of Zhu. It has been a long road from the days of Tai Ping to the Jade State of today, and I could not be more proud of the work we have all done to be here as we are today. May we continue to thrive together in this era, and for many more after. No mud, no lotus. Signed, First Patriarch and former Zhu of Yong Ping, Tianrui Ren Ren sets the brush aside, leaving the scroll to dry after stamping his seal beside that of the Jade State. Thumbing over his wedding band, he smiles a bit. Delphina always assured him he spent enough time at home whenever he expressed concerns at his absence due to duty. As true as that may be, he would enjoy being able to spend more time at home with his family again. Gold is the water, the leaves cast from Autumn trees, the smiles shared with tea.

Tianrui Ren passes out the green tea unsweetened this week at the loss of the Dragons and the Dunes. At least the Flames had won, and the Dunes and Flames still contended for the top 4 in the Eastern Conference. The Dragons will assuredly be facing double drills back home to regain their top 4 spot on the Western Conference.

Tianrui Ren punched the air at the double victory of his two favorite teams the Dragons and the Dunes! Passing complimentary honey green tea around the Providence and Yong Ping teams with congratulations on a good, clean game, he makes sure to send a congratulatory gift basket to the Krakens on their first win.
-
Tianrui Ren is sure to congratulate both teams on a game well played with chilled green tea all around, though he makes a mental note with the new rules to start training the Dragons in some boxing weaving drills to hopefully avoid any concussions on the court.
-
Tianrui Ren hands out a well-deserved green tea energy boost to the players of the Yong Ping Dragons and Iron'Uzg Krugs after the game! "Well played, gentlemen!"
-
Love all the lore tie-ins! Bucketball is the lore we not only wanted, but needed.
-
Tianrui Ren grins at seeing the results of the first round, having been closely following the Yong Ping Dragons as a part of the local youth outreach he had been sponsoring. It seems time to extend the same sponsorship to the team itself as their careers seemed prime to climb to new highs! Producing a rice paper scroll, he sends word of the Tianrui Teahouse's sponsorship to be officially recognized by the ABA before going to hang one of the team jerseys on the teahouse wall.

The Eve of the Demon's Dance | Yong Ping Festival
Moo_bot replied to PeachLova's topic in Jade State of Yong Ping
Tianrui Ren would smile in remembrance of the last late-Autumn festival hosted by Xiuying and Xiaohong in Tai Ping seeming so long ago, glad to see another to be hosted in Yong Ping. -
Tianrui Ren watched on as the lifeless body of Qing Hui was brought to shore, allowed no moment of respite to grieve as the living demanded his attention. His medical bag was near empty after the first two ferries of survivors were brought across the Elvenesse channel, waters rippling orange and white from the flames that raged over the city. As the last ferries departed the city, and the sea itself began to boil, Ren did not get to see where the Hei-Zhu had been taken in the chaos. The rest of the day blurred travelling between Elysium, Yong Ping, and Urguan, the elf doing his best to tend the wounded and bring medical supplies where they were needed. As night fell over Almaris, he was able to return home. There was no sign that the noble Qing Long was returned to the monastery yet. Leaving his boots at the door, Ren walks before the shrine to Hualian. He falls into a kneel, a moment of silence held for the fallen before he lights another candle to join the many before the statue. "May you join our Ancestors with peace, Qing Long."

Tianrui Ren reads over one of the posted missives, seeing his son prompt as ever to rise to the occasion to serve his people. The list is thorough, and he has no doubt Ryu can accomplish it should the Council vote him to position. "No mud, no lotus." He smiles, nodding once to himself before returning to his own duties with a brisk step.

Tianrui Ren reads through the missive, setting the parchment aside as he considers the past over steepled fingers resting over his desk. From her rise in Tsutenkaku to work with the community after the great tsunami, Hirano Nanako has always had the best interests of Yong Ping and her people at the heart of her actions. From aiding economic an population growth to helping cement security within the Jade State, Nanako's tenure as Chancellor has seen her meet and exceed the long-term goals she had set herself in her first initiative. Ren lifts his hands, bringing a scroll of rice paper before him to scribe with a fine horsetail brush. In the auburn cool, harvest reaps bounty and leaves fields empty to sow オーバーンクールで 収穫は優雅さと葉を切ります 播種用の空のフィールド Ren finishes the scroll, taking a small red square of origami paper. Folding a lotus to accompany, he rises to bring the gift to Tsutenkaku.

Tianrui Ren reads over the missive, rolling it and stowing a copy in the sleeves of his hanfu. "It seems the false dragon rears its head again."

Tianrui Ren reads over the updated volume of the YPA handbook, knowing that the future chapters of those who rise to the defense of the Jade State shall have guidance beyond his generation's time. He carefully shelves a copy in his office beside the first that he himself had written, proud of his son especially now. Reflecting on the days when district of Tai Ping was defended by naught but a small company, Ren looks over the city now at the wash of sunrise. Gold breaks across the sky, glimmering on the lapping waters of the coast and westward facing windows. A new dawn for the city, and the YPA that has grown so far from those days past.

Zhu Tianrui Ren looks to the missive as it is finally posted up. It had been a tense few Dragon's days to read the reports coming across his desk, and was glad that statement could now be put out after the hard work of the Ishiguntai and Lectors of Owyn to safeguard against the threat. Trust well placed. "Another day of peace and security for the Republic." He nods once to himself, setting back about his business.
-
Tianrui Ren happily receives the invitation, though is confused at the now two Dukes of Adria- wondering if he missed something by leaving the Dumpalooza early. Regardless, he makes preparation to travel for the occasion!

Tianrui Ren smiles at the thoughtful gift from HIH Josephine, keeping a copy of the haikus to brighten the walls of his office.

THE SECOND DUMAPALOOZA; TO RIGHT THE WRONGS OF THE PAST
Moo_bot replied to JoanOfArc's topic in Other Realms
Tianrui Ren looks across the missive as it comes across his desk, delivered to him by his cousins who still held the name Watanabe while he now retains his blood name. The man lingers on the memories of Ves and its time, and while he holds no current stake in what renewal of it may come to be- he still feels compelled by the past. He lifts his brush to rice paper, scribing a reply. "The Patrician House Watanabe shall be in attendance of the Duma." There is no signature save a crimson seal, the rising sun sigil emblazoned in gold.
