  1. Biggest problems CA's run into is launching without a culture. Take wonks for example, the only wonk culture there was ended up being the tribal wonks, but they were restricted to ET only causing players to just be lost as that was the only real lore in the post. You set a solid foundation for a antag culture to brew from this, and its honestly something that should be implemented to the server. Especially since Paladins or magics similar don't really have much to fight.
  2. OOC ((MC Name: AmericanSimp)) ((Discord: DragoonNuts#3613)) ((Timezone: EST+6)) IN-CHARACTER What is your name? Bo, Bo Jam Why seek membership to the Mages Guild? Looking to meet new people, meet new teachers, and most importantly make new friends. What arts, if any, do you currently practice? Currently a master of Moonshine, making the best hooch Almaris has ever seen! What position do you desire to attain upon acceptance? Looking to join the Hermeticum, to help expand and develop new types of moonshine. When should you be contacted for an interview? Just send me a bird whenever, I often might be sleeping, but in time you will find me!
  3. +1 I love this thing, but you'll probably want to look into going into a bit more detail on redlines. Especially combat related one, i.e. is it treated the same as a horse, or does it have some benefits etc. If it has benefits, what makes it harder to find/tame.

  6. Batigak'Braduk looked over the missive for sometime, a memory of the time spent with one of those in the sketches filling his mind. "Intereztin..." the uruk muttering to himself as he returned the paper to his personal goblin messenger.
  7. When that post went oop, it was truly sad day
  8. AN UNTOLD TALE [!] Blanketing the city of Sutica was a darkened ocean, the waters within full of stars shining bright as an elderly being approached the city alone. Scars littered the creatures’ body from head to toe; malflame, spears, swords, dagger, and claws held no mercy atop the skin of this being. As the creature continued to lumber toward the city, an elf soon found the cold gaze of the olog upon themselves as he clenched a human skull within his right and only hand. Soon after, a rather painful cough escaped the ologs maw followed by a small set of words, “Wub Naym..” the olog had begun to question the elf. As the elf examined the creature before her, she had not been able to hear the ologs words, asking for him to repeat the question. The olog let out a grunt before motioning for her to follow out toward the bridge in front of the Sutican gate, the olog made muttering the question once more, “Wub Naym…” Moments later, the olog was now sitting along the railing of the bridge. The skull that was once within the ologs grasp, had been placed neatly beside the pale orange creature. Ivarielle, the elf, followed the olog outside the city gates, opting to stand in the middle of the bridge as she remained skeptical of the creature before her. As time passed, the elf explained who she was and how she lived within the city as the olog stated, “Droktar wunt tu gruk Ivarielle.” Droktar’Lur soon looked to the night sky above as his skin continued to take on a paler appearance, the sparkle of the stars above filling his gaze whilst the elf spoke her tale. Ivarielle soon realized the time of Droktar’Lur was running short as the olog spoke with a slow voice, “Droktar join famyli zoon...” As the realization sunk into the mind of Ivarielle, she began to go into more depth in regard to the life she lived, mentioning her time at war as she slowly made her way towards the edge Droktar sat upon. Though as her stories came to a halt, the eyes of Droktar closed and for a moment there was silence. Breaking the silence was a coarse question, “Why Fyght” Ivarielle had not expected the question, nor had she planned to have it asked by an olog. Though she looked deep within her heart and told the reasons to the dying Droktar. A small painful smirk crossed the maw of the olog as he turned his gaze back to the elf. The smile quick to fade as the olog was asked a question, “Are you happy with everything you’ve done, Droktar’Lur?” Soon all that could be heard was the trickling water of the rivers below the bridge, Droktar’s cold gaze watching a portion pass by. Droktar’s eyelids soon grew heavy though, his skin like that of a corpse, but after another wave of silence one word filled the air, “Nub.” As the world echoed through the night sky, the body of Droktar fell limp, colliding with the Sutican railing before falling to the waters below never to be seen again. Droktar lived a long life, made many people proud, made many people mad, and disappointed all who once called him friend. Droktar chose to die alone, outside the gates of a city he once hated with all his being as penance for the many crimes he committed in his mind. May the mistakes this olog made in life, never be repeated.
  9. At first, I thought the original hard to achieve runesmithing was being read in my mind. But no, you guys have done what all similar magics should find themselves doing. Creating a foundation to expand the community whilst also creating a path for people to both become a runesmith and develop their personas. When you added in that only TA's could create a smith I got extremely worried, but then I read the OOC bit at the bottom and my whole view of this magic changed. Excellent work my friends! +1
  10. All I got to say is, since guns can pierce plate armor. Just make it a 4 emote load. 4th emote being when you aim and fire. Your post had like 3 actions shoved into one on the last part. Since its an ET item, its a bit more special and powerful then a crossbow at the cost of an extra emote.
  11. [!] Blanketing the sky was a vast range of mountains within one of the many plains of the Stargush'Stroh. Sitting atop the highest peak was that of Droktar'Lur, his long lost family beside him. As the olog looked across the never ending view, Droktar would begin to notice something new, he would begin to notice the figure of a friend. Quickly the olog sprung to his feet, running for days until finally colliding with Ugrad with a wide grin. Whilst hoisting the uruk into the air, a rather loud set of words filled the air, "UGRAD BLARG."
  12. Lüga’Gorkil stirs within his sleep, awaking to a missive dropping upon his lap from a messenger goblin. The skull placed upon his maw soon finding itself on the table to his right. “Korgahk.... hi iz zuppozed tu bi flat. Last mi peepd hi waz dah azh bein executed lyke ah rat.” The Gorkil closing his eyes as he looked to his fathers skull upon the table, “Da tik uv honur iz lozt azce mor, lezt diz nubded zkaher iz retuyrd tu dah grayv mani Rexez agh orkiz hayv put hem en.” the Gorkils eyes once again closing as he let out a rather deep sigh, “Da kub uv Murak, iz nub kub uv Krug animor.”
  13. You'll probably have to be logged in while on that alt at the cost of your ping in the first fight. You can't really stop people from alting, where there is a will there is a way and the only real way to stop it is IP bans. Which create a whole new issues especially around VPNs and brother/sisters sharing a network
  14. At first I thought this was a rant post, but instead you just made a post that truly explains the leadership of Krugmar. Props to you big dawg
  15. That I did not know! Thank you very much my friend
  16. Gowlur Description: The Gowlur’s are a hulking breed of ape that range in size from four feet to a rumored twelve feet. Just like their varieing heights, the Gowlur has a wide range of weights ranging from 200 pounds to upwards of almost 2000 pounds. Gowlur’s tend to have long arms and legs while their body and head often take on most of their bulk. Pelts of a Gowlur bear a wide variety of colors ranging from Red, Blue, Green, Black, and rarely White. Some of the most defining features of the Gowlur are it’s protruding face and lack of a tail. These creatures are not friendly by any means, and are a true embodiment of the wild. Discovery: As the orcs began to flee from the Arcas to the jungles of Almaris, they soon found the jungles already belonged to a more ferocious inhabitant. Within a few day’s the orcish camps began to report screams that’d chill the spine of any uruk, man, elf, or dwarf. The screams belonged to that of the Gowlur’s, and as time went on the Gowlur’s screams were soon joined by those of an orcish origin. Behavior: Within the jungles of Almaris, Gowlur’s can often be seen stalking, sleeping, and climbing around in search of their food. Often sitting at the tops of the massive trees within the jungle, Gowlur’s rely on their eye sight for the majority of their actions. Being omnivores the Gowlur tends to prefer eating plants, but when their farseeing eyes cannot find any they turn to more ferocious ways to feed. Should one encounter a hungry Gowlur they’d quickly be met with the scream that has terrorized orcish camps since their first few day’s in Almaris. Following the scream would be the presentation of the Gowlur’s set of fangs ranging in size from 1-6 inches. Lifespan: Gowlur’s can live from anywhere between 100-150 years old though once a Gowlur reaches the ripe age of 100, their ability to climb quickly begins to falter. Types: Just like any descendant race, Gowlur’s come in different sizes and shapes such as those listed below Bub’Gow: The descendants that fear orcs often tell tales of their Ologs, the massive creatures that are capable of striking fear into anyone. But within the hearts of the orcish race lies a folk tale, depicting a legendary breed of Gowlur known as the Bub’Gow. Stories say that the Bub’Gow stalk their prey for days, torturing them with their screams from a distance until the time to strike is ideal. Screams of a Bub’Gow are often heard, shaking the earth and soul of every living thing within the jungles of Almaris, but no one has ever seen one…. Abilities/Traits: Bears a strength nearly triple that of an olog Bub’Gow hold a remarkable set of eyes capable of finding the smallest of creatures Screams from the Bub’Gow often strike fear into those that wish to live Weaknesses: Movements of the Bub’Gow are often extremely slow Relies on sight to function In the dark the Bub’Gow is quite vulnerable Redlines: 8-12 feet tall, 1200-2000 pounds Should the Bub’Gow lose its eyesight, the creature will shut down Bigger the Bub’Gow the slower it’s movements become Nub’Gow: Known to terrorize orcish camps rather often, the Nub’Gow is the most common of the Gowlur species. Unlike its mythical brother, the Nub’Gow species tends to roam in packs of 3-5. Like wolves these packs of Gowlur’s have an alpha, and in dire times the alpha has been know to sacrifice itself for the pack. The scream of a Nub’Gow is higher pitched than that of a Bub’Gow, and it’s movements are noticeably faster. Abilities: Known to bait or trap its prey prior to an actual attack Like it’s brother the Nub’Gow holds a remarkable set of eyes capable of finding the smallest of creatures Screams of a Nub’Gow often don’t scare creatures, but rather draw their attention Weaknesses: Should the Nub’Gow lose its vision the creature loses the ability to function on its own When separated from its pack the Nub’Gow tends to become frantic and scared Nub’Gow are extremely vulnerable when in the dark Redlines: 6-8 feet tall, 800-1200 pounds Without eyesight the Nub’Gow will shut down Faster than a Bub’Gow but still sluggish in it’s movements the larger the beast becomes Mini’Gow Found within the caves of the jungles within Almaris is the rabid Gowlur known as the Mini’Gow. Tiny but mighty, this species of Gowlur thrives in the dark finding and eating all forms of life within their caves. Mini’Gow are known to have anywhere between 1-12 within their packs in a cave. The scream they offer is the rather high pitched, and when multiple scream at once in close proximity orcs have been known to go deaf. Abilities: Mini’Gow tend to attack like rabid dogs using hit and run tactics Nocturnal, thrives in the darkness Mini’Gow are the fastest of their kind, but also the weakest of the Gowlur’s Screams of the Mini’Gow when done in large groups have been known to take the hearing of those nearby Weaknesses: Eyes of the Mini’Gow don’t adjust to light well, unlike the other Gowlur subtypes Mini’Gow are extremely flammable, like that of a leaf Being extremely tiny, the Mini’Gow is quite frail Redlines: 4-6 feet tall, 200-800 pounds Requires eyesight to perform any task Extremely fast but weak ET mounted Mini’Gow cannot utilize deafening scream ability Location/Geography: Found within any of the vast jungles of Almaris Tameability: On the rare chance you survive an encounter with a Gowlur the ability to keep one them as a pet is possible. Should the eyesight of the Gowlur disappear so would it’s ability to function alone. Through persistence you can become the eyes of the Gowlur, but should you become the eyes it’s hands and feet become yours. No ordinary creature can be mounted on a Gowlur, you cannot not do anything other than guide the blinded creature. Should you start doing another action aside from talking on the back of this monkey you may quickly be dismounted without warning. Taming/Mount Redlines: Requires the creature be blinded temporarily or permanently Rider cannot do any combat or non-combat actions while mounted and moving besides talking. If stationary you can do non-combat emotes without worry. Will not kill or harm for its rider, but will pin players down, if rider dismounts then Gowlur releases the player. This is only to be utilized by ET/ST riders Can’t do anything on its own beside basic non-combat emotes when blinded without a mounted rider Will flee from/attack rider and all other players if sight is regained Can only be acquired through roleplay in an event run by ET/ST When kept as a pet, the creature cannot be mounted, and offers no combat abilities in any form (Non-ET/ST). ONLY Event team or Story Team members can mount these creatures and utilize their combat Mechanics: Can be represented using a horse or item given by ET. Role played through environmental emotes not as a playable character. I ask you always credit me when showing the work, though if you seek a ghost writer for whatever purpose I can work with you. Have you ever thought of your character performing a great deed, or finishing a challenge? Maybe something bad happened to you in the past, and you always wondered what life would've been like if things went differently. Drafting up a new persona, but can't make an amazing backstory? IF you answered yes to any of these questions, I am here to help! Contact Info Discord: DragoonNuts#3613 Website: www.lacronicfables.com
  18. For me a player becomes good at CRP when they master the give and take rules. Pushing their character/persona to the absolute limit to land their own final blow. For example, someone willingly gets stabbed in the arm, leg, or chest but in return uses the action of the opponent to send in their own attack that is practically unblockable due to the attack their opponent just gave them. 'You gave me a final blow, but in the same moment I took you out with mine' When someone takes a hit from someone, its not to provide a 1:1 ratio in combat. It's to practically force the opponent into a losing position. There's no running dodging or evading when all your energy was put into the attack, and during that attack your opponent realized if they take the hit and rely on their groups healer. They can truly provide the killing blow at the cost of removing themselves from combat. In simpler terms. Instead of evading the attack, they used their emote to become the attacker. Because in the moment, they can survive the original attack. Because in crp there is no evade and attack, there is only evade or attack. Which is what confuses many people when it comes to crp. Fights last endlessly, if double emoting is involved
  19. Once again you bring up some good points. Like anything in this server you can’t just change it all at once, and your right in it will prime people to argue. Maybe we could start by reworking the Cloud Temple Monks? Allowing for characters to show the weight of their crimes more, especially during limb loss. Want to maybe find a middle ground in the discussion between myself and you in regards to having a more meaningful death if forced pks are out of the picture.
  20. I definitely see what your talking about all the time. Maybe having the cloud temple monks just unable to heal the loss of a limb could be a good start. Throughout the different nations there are plenty of ways to get new limbs, and this would allow for those magics to become utilized more often.
