  • Do you feel like you are getting more, less, or about the same amount of ore as in our previous mining setups?
  • Do you feel like you are getting more, less, or about the same amount of ore as in vanilla mining?
  • Do you feel like there are too many, too few, or just enough cavers, caverns, and chasms?
  • Is there anything missing, or is there anything we should take away? (mob spawning, certain block ratios)

I'd like some feedback on the new mines. I think I have to tweak some numbers and find out the cause of a certain (potential) error that makes it so less blocks are spawning than there should be.

To start, yes I'm aware of emeralds, and yes, I know you can't soulstone out. I'm working on fixing that.

WE AM GET MOAR DIAMUNDZ!

But seriously, I think Vanilla mining is good, and this is pretty much just an positive modification. There's no real frustration of waiting to mine one ore for 15-45 minutes. Then again, there isn't loads of ore to hoard which would throw off the economy.

Maybe Nether Quartz? It's a nifty little decor block

I'd recommend you toss up a poll.

I guess. I was hoping people would actually answer the questions, lol.

There's actually a mine entrance in the Orcish ravine, which is pretty good looking, but unused. Why don't you just use that one instead of leaving it unused, since it was made for the purpose of being a portal to the mining world?

I hadn't considered that. I know the spot you're talking about but I can't really remember how to get there. Problem is, it's fo hidden/'far away, why bother using it? I'll still set it up, though.

Personally , the ore ratio is far far /far/ too high. I managed to get 20+ diamonds in 30 minutes and about 50+ iron in about the same time. Armies aren't going to run out of armor , and iron and diamond are most likely going to drop in value. Just my two cents.

I think the mining is perfect, making lowering diamonds a bit, but I think the Iron levels are perfect.

I believe that ore being available "relatively easily" is only ever a good thing.

While a true economy is in minecraft is not ever a realistic goal, the -abundance- of things is what promotes trade.

Not scarcity.

Items being hard to come by really only make people hoard them, instead of seeking trade. People need to be comfortable having a surplus before they are willing to "step out there" and toos them on the Auction House / open up a shop / sell to someone.

So yes, this is all good.

+1 for Ever!
