Konrad sat upon the chair at the gatehouse, his fur lined armor protecting him from the winds, but he was used to it. Frost, almost the same color as his hair coated his chin and made his locks of hair freeze solid, but he was used to it. The body his soul resided in was frigid and numb, but he was used to it.

What he looked at, he was not. The Order was neutral, at least in public. So why then were siege weapons aimed at the fortress? Obviously some grudge holding Strelts, it was obvious by the wood being used and the pig-speak they shouted, and everything seemed to end with 'anistan' for some reason.

They had no idea what they were doing... Already the odds were against them, the world versus Oren and probably the Orcs, seeing as how for some reason they were allied without any obvious negotiation or ambassadors. Probably telepathy... It was the only logical conclusion.

A patrol, he almost didn't see them in the white flurries that assailed the mountain, it was moving to the gate. He raised one of the crossbows loaded next to him, taking aim, he shouted down "Identifizieren Sie!"

The return was delayed, but a muffled "Belie Order!" was heard, allies, this he was also not used to.

Opening the gates, he let the scouts in, one was wounded, bolt wound but it didn't seem to bother him. Sariants were built to last. He would mend, Venric looked up at him, a grave look on his face, and it told Konrad all he needed to know.

War was at hand...

His eminence is concerned by whispers that the Teutonic Order has broken their holy oaths to aid dwarves in conquering humanity. Creator have mercy on their souls.

Rubs his head, "Is he dumb?" he says, reading the Gronkkston pact.

Diedrik fondly remembers the diplomatic mission to Gronkkston. Smoking and klomping. If there's any race that KNOWS how to negotiate, it's the orcs. Clearly some in this world can't appreciate the finer things in life.

Walter ponders as to why the Teutons think they were attacked and wonder why we aim siege weapons at them when they raided Schattenburg with the dwarves only a few elven days ago.

Borikdan is confused, as he is with many of the recent events that have been conspiring. 'Was it not the Teutons which joined in a rebel raid, initiating the hostilties? They would have it appear like we are the aggressors, when they are the ones who squat on land not of their own.'
