The Human Letter

The Snowy lands of the Imperium of Oren  lay a reminder of the north, From the successful siege of Castle Greywynn, which forced the Scourge back into the North, and the much more devastating attacks on the Kingdom of Herendul lay their border to the north wasted in corrupted ice and now, their dead lay unaccounted for within the wastelands. They lay, much like the Elves who lay opposite of the Humans, as close of a proximity to the scourge’s land. They have fought valiantly against the invading Harbingers, and in that right have gained a respective place upon Anthos.

With the Rebels attacking, they were at a loss, but still with the courage of the short lived human did they fight on, not only fighting back the forces of the scourge, but defeating the Rebels and their allies. The humans stood, shining through both forms of dark threats.

But now, with the Old Cloud Temple corrupted, though far from the humans, they are at risk from underhanded schemes, highly moraled members of the Scourge who will continue their attacks on the Humans, The human’s help would surely be needed

A figure described by many as “Robed in holy white, with golden trim spread around her body, which leaked out silver wisps of light” had left many notices upon the Human lands. The notes bore the following message.

“Creator bless, Valiant and brave Humans,

Allow me to first give you my condolences on the death of Seigmund Carrion, your loss is heavy but you do not grieve alone.

As far as history remembers, Oren had been the center of not only reformation and separation, but symbols of Unity. If not by Emperor Godfrey Horen, or by Seigmund Carrion, may the Creator preserve their souls, but by common enemies. Few humans recall the Undead of Aegis, where in which the Humans were still sieged relentlessly by the unholy beasts, until the nations rose up together and destroyed the first Undead installation.

Their toll was the loss of Snowyfields and Alstion being ruined, ripped to shreds by the undead, but through heroic sacrifice, many of the united forces of Aegis stood tall.

History is repeating itself, the Scourge are nothing more than a reflection of the past, to which the humans have successfully and valiantly fought off time and time again, if we are to stand a chance, we need to mirror the past and learn from what the mortal races of Aegis did.

Simply put, we need to Unite, not as Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs or Kharajyr, but as the mortal races of Anthos that will not stand idly by. We must unite for the future of our brothers and sisters, to preserve what hope we have and build back the hope of those who have none.

I ask of you, Humans of the Imperium, to rise up, to assist the other Races, and push back the scourge from the Corrupted Cloud Temple, for then we can truly test how united we are. For if we are to have any chance of survival, unity is our only hope. The Glory of the Creator shall shine upon you.

-Signed by Naeri’aheral, Grand Magistrate of the Anthosian Commonwealth”

*Puts the letter to a side, pondering for a moment before sending a letter to the privy council of Oren.*

"

The Reformers are commited to do the right thing whenever the oppertunities appear from the shadows o' ignorance.

We'll stand by your side and prepare for the inevitable.

The scums who is attempting to repeat history will be slaughtered. It is by our hand, not mine and neither the Knights.

But by OUR, the people of Anthos and other lands!

I encourage all to stand together in times like these, we must prepare.

We must.

Take Action.

"

"Mayhap you should first go to the dwarfs and tell them to stop there silly war with us, as if we are not protecting and holding off much of the north force by us holding our lands. We suffer enough by the hands of the devils creatures but the dwarfs also bleed us of much needed troops and supplies much needed for the north."

A letter would return to Brother John,

"If they join, they will most likely pull out of the war, though I will talk to the Grand King and see what he thinks."

*Theobalt Rolnik looks over the letter and sighs, raising his nose. On his daily conversations with King Heinrik Carrion I, he speaks of his opinion on the matter.*

"I advise we stay out of this, your majesty. I can most likely speak for many others when I say that fighting alongside enemies is a recipe for disaster. Fighting for a temple that pagans use for worship serves us no good either, no benefit. For the most part those Scourge folk have left us Abresians be, I do not see why we should waste our men and materials fighting for the pagan temple."

*Looks over to Theobalt for a moment saying...*

"Ja, this is true. But when scourge-threat takes all all but Oren, we will have no allies and nobody to help us. People will look down on us and such thing may lead to further war. I grow tired of warring with the people of Anthos, and if this battle can ensure some form of peace, even if it is for a short while, I will gladly aid them. Resources can be regathered, men replenished, I would rather fight this battle and make a name for myself, rather than sit back and cowardly hide behind my walls. As of late the scourge has looked it out borders, and attacked our city on many occasions. It is not about fighting against our enemies, it is about sending a message to the scourge. These are /our/ homelands, and we will not give them up on a whim."

Looks to the bishop as he sits on his throne chair and says "Ja, am arranging meeting with the dwarves as soon as possible. It is time for wars to stop, and focus on more important matters."

Lucien II stares at the letter, maybe receiving it. He stares at the letter.

"The unholy scourge must be stopped once and for all! But Grand Magistrate of the Anthosian Commonwealth is a little on the absurd side of a title."

Castus nods sourly, leaning towards Bishop John to speak, "It is a small wonder that people are unable to do any good for this world without creating for themselves these titles of grandeur and majesty. Why do we nations subject ourselves beneath a silly elf? This is demeaning."

Charles Tarus recieves the letter. As he reads it over he walks over to where Huron is talking to a new recruit and elbows him handing him the letter after he finishes. "What do you think?"

Diedrik Carrion glances over the letter in the Royal Keep, his eyes weary from many long days and nights. An old body, a dissolved Imperium, and a passed brother... Long days they have been indeed. Shaking his head, he contemplates the letter, the war, pretenders, and the loss of so many whom his once knew. In the end, he sighs and proceeds to uncork his flask and stride to the Privy Council chambers.

"Well, it seems our hour of truth has finally come,"

The old crow looks to his nephew perched atop the throne.

"Heed my council Heinrik. Vah! Da, Heinrik. You're still my ward in my own eyes, that hotblooded youth who ran about the filthy streets of Kralta, yamming about being a knight one day, and restoring your family's legacy. Forgive an old Barrow's memories. As I say though, heed this old grave's council. I've seen Siegmund rule my whole life. I never learned how to do it myself, though if there is one thing I learned in all my years, it was how to give council. And give a winded introduction."

Diedrik takes a few steps up the dais, to better see the King of Oren.

"I bid you sire, strike your banners. We've killed many. Sariants, Greens, Adunians, and Taruses. Though there is one thing we have in common with our long time enemies. Humanity. No matter our faith, our liege, our ideals, we are all human. I implore you, what is a bleeding kingdom? A dying kingdom. So long as men are at war with one another, they cannot stand against their true enemy. I have been fighting my whole life Heinrik. I would like a decade of peace to grow old and pass unto the Seven Skies with my brother. The kingdom does not beg for war. It grovels for peace. I council, seek reconciliation between the Houses of Carrion and Tarus. Welcome him into the fold of humanity. It is time for this to stop."

Decterum Marshal Ailred Ruthern receives one of the letters,

mumbling to the other Marshals of his distaste.

"Oren can defeat The North by ourselves. Screw the other Nations,

The North would look better with Decterum flags scattered on it."
