Am I the only one who fails to care as long as I can go on and have a fairly fun time RPing with the Malinor populace without forum drama and factionalism that is dividing the server ruining it for me?

I've been around for a very long time, the problem will always remain despite who is leading. It's with the playerbase.

 

Bircalin will tell you, with his experience with the lumidrim, they will stand about and do nothing, expecting 'things' in return.

 

Those who saw the start of the building found that many of the rpers there would not help at all. They sat about and watched while a few individuals worked. In reality malinor is a nation of a very few, serving the many who stand about with no wish to further elven-rp. No matter what amazing and interesting rp you present before them, they do not take it. What is lacked is a few, level-headed elves who can take the time to get things done.

 

The nation is on the shoulders of a few people, who by no means can not do everything. It has felt like a dead-end waste of time for almost two years with malinor(And I am nearing my own personal end with this), and I doubt any leadership(no matter how good) will completely and totally fix these problems unless people provide a helping hand.

 

Also do note, there has been very few edgies about. The ones that are present are the ones whom have been killed seven times but choose to remain.

Either way, we need to fix Malinor just like we are fixing our Elitism. Motivation & Investment. Just as I am mobilizing my army of enslaved Rosaen members, you could for example go into the guard. The problem with RP that it is so community dependand, and if the community starts picking up their "Fix-it" wrenches and cables, I'm sure Malinor will be the mysterious city of nature once again.

 

BTW, get those darn Dryads and Druids active within ya town!

If you all can somehow fix it without a genocide or other similar cataclysmic event, I would be very surprised. But if you all think it can be done, I am in no position to stop you, since I'm not even involved with it anymore.

Either way, we can all repeat what the problems are. But all problems on the server are pretty obvious, I can continue to rant on our elitism and splintering, but what would it help if we don't do something about it? If you are not involved, and yet take your time to complain, then use that time to get involved!

 

It is pretty simple, Malinor is in need of good Rpers? Well, migrate! Make events, motivate people. If I was in the high council's position I would create some RP propaganda and such, they are pointy ears after all.

It is the leaders job to find those to get things done and to entice people to pull together and further the betterment of their nation. IC and OOC'ly. Don't let someone who has potential stand there and contribute nothing, you have to give them a reason and show them how it will be for there benefit. Bring in an era of Elven nationalism... "An army of sheep, led by a lion, is better than an army of lions, led by a sheep."

Really the best way to help malinor is to lend a helping hand. I find myself building the city wall, acting as a super-guard, diplomat, building everyone and their grandmother's house, and dealing with these petty squabbles people bring up to me. I am flooded quite a great deal, and a helping hand would go very far in fixing these problems. I've asked for help many a time only to have a chorus of NOs in response.Hitting the reset button is unlikely to fix what I believe is the root of the problem. It can be done without this if people would choose to actually help, instead of stating to me that a return to Aegis is needed. (Such a thing cannot be done by a few people)

 

I'll write a quick list of things/positions that can be filled to help out after my finial today, lower-council won't work so it'll be some cool rp-thing that goes around the will of the council to have it formed into existence. Although I doubt any see interest in it rply, seeing the cycle of herp-derps that float about.
