Actually, I believe they are doing quite a good job fixing it. Baconthief knows what he is doing, and the prosecutions on edgy criminals become more common.

What he is doing is good, but where he is now in the government is not enough. One person cannot fix everything unless they have absolute power to fix it.

I'm so happy a topic like this arrived, I've constantly been stressing to the leaders of Malinor that there's no possible way they can /EVER/ win a war with their current internal state. The cities in shambles, the guard force is smaller then the average raid group and generally one thing I've noticed - Nothing ever gets done, its always 'I'll get round to it' or they simple nod and dismiss it a few minutes later. Its taken me a whole week to get acknowledgement for supplies to build ONE manor in Malinor as their architect.

I personally believe all your points are dot on and wished I would have been around to help you try and drive these into effect, I hope others take notice of this and begin to see reason. I know I personally will try and drive some of these points home for you.

The single key to success is a core group of 5-8 players that is online constantly, engages the playerbase with new RP, and remains level-headed no matter what happens. That's how Alras rose to power. That's how groups such as House Flay and the Roses became powerful. And it's something Malinor hasn't had since Aegis.

No point in talking about anything until that's straightened. And if you're not willing to be a part of the solution, stop whining.

As one that may be called a "Malinorian", I actually think that this is something that may be not only needed, but a significant historical event that would change all future interactions between races. I see positive effects RPly and OOCly.

Ptah, if you would add me (sentlit) on skype, I'd be willing to at least OOCly help you with recovering Malinor.

Edit: I suppose once the week is up, I could return if and spark some RP- get people reinvested in Malinor.

A change of leadership would be nice at least some of our leaders reform the high council with people that will get things done and see Malinor to the better. The guard yes its a huge issue we have been even worse since Lion can't think of his MC name took over and drove even more of them away aswell but is leading us the right way apart from making them waste time doing hall of labour work but this is just me. We dont even have a barracks or a jail i have to use my own house to do any guard work in privacy. Yes nothing gets done and its annoying when people don't do their job we have builds and gathers yet i find myself doing most of that myself now to save my energy instead of wasting it to get them to do their job. I Dont see the few in change often but when i do most are too busy with their own RP not helping to work on the nation such as just the other day they broke almost every single region in malinor

I have stopped trying to get Malinor to recover, all my blood and sweat I now dedicate to Alras, the only place I've ever actually had fun in on the server.

Are you really... really sugesting... Kill all the edgies? And keep killing them when they return?

I don't know if you have been around Malinor... but the 'edgies' are not the problem... the murderers, the crazy people, the raiders, the cultists and a few others are the 'problem'. Yet while some of those are 'edgy' not all of the edgies are them.

What Malinor needs is not extermination... what it needs is to follow the lore of the elves and NOT declare war on Oren when it had NO IC reason to do so, and for unity to happen between the elves, meaning, if someone yells "help! he's attacking me!", everyone that shows up is to help the victim, and not the attacker.

Right now you have Khel and Lion in princedom, you have the clerics walking around everyday, you actually have a guard force bigger than it has ever been in Malinor of Anthos, Malinor does not need extermination, it needs to keep with the bloody notion of the Damned (I forgot it's name, you wrote the post of them Ptah) to be done, and the person kick and kept out of Malinor by force if needed. This includes Cultists, heck they are not that hard to find, most of them are freaks of nature, and most of the others wear black robes and mask.

They have a smaller town, that has worked WONDERS, let them continue to become better. Just one thing needs to change... STOP getting yourselves into wars because you think you can win...

Was not this post about recovering Malinor? Is this not but a rant, then?

You could call it a rant.

And Jistuma, I bring the cultists and murderers and cannibals all under the umbrella of 'edgy'. EDIT: I don't mean kill the edgies. I mean force them out absolutely and entirely.

Not all edgies are cultists, not all cultists are edgy...

Use their proper names or you will get no where.

I tried my best for Malinor through both Aegis and Anthos with my 'gap year' being with the Mori through Asulon. The recurring problem, from my perspective, has been the lack of a devoted playerbase. There have always been very few actual 'figureheads' throughout the Elves' time on LOTC. By that, I mean there have been few Shiftnatives, few Indelwehns, few Titanias etc.
Players come and go, they rarely ever stay for long. Even with Lafthi (Archoly/Rathriel) he will come and go again for short periods of time. It was for this reason that I stayed with Malinor for as long as I did, but a few months back I ultimately decided enough is enough. I do hope there is finally a change, of course I do. But I'm no more willing to quite literally waste away my years looking after players that don't want change.

I like to consider the Lumidrim my 'leaving present' - the single project I wanted up-and-running so that I may leave in confidence with its continuation. I'm glad to see that could happen, and I'm still proud of not myself but the players that had the initiative to take something good and hold onto that.

Good luck, guys. But count me out from now on.
