Arkelos 1027 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Really the best way to help malinor is to lend a helping hand. I find myself building the city wall, acting as a guard, super-diplomat, building everyone and their grandmother's house, and dealing with these petty squabbles people bring up to me. I am flooded quite a great deal, and a helping hand would go very far in fixing these problems. Hitting the reset button is unlikely to fix what I believe is the root of the problem I'll write a quick list of things/positions that can be filled to help out Thats it, I swore I'd take a writing break today, but it appears that I need to finish what I started. Cyndikate 2303 Share Posted December 9, 2013 The only thing that needs to change about Malinor is their OOC attitude.
Temp 2006 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Remove the pointless figureheads. Malinor needs leadership with some form of militant knowledge and respect. Not 40 princes sitting at a round table discussing what's to be done. Distinct warping in number, I know, but Malinor needs a singular figurehead with final say in all matters. In RP, your populace doesn't respect the prince's word. In OOC, a metric F--k-ton of Malinor's players make you a laughing stock and annoyance to the other players. A single figurehead could do some major IC reforms and maybe, MAYBE bring in some allies. Since Malinor lack the ability to maintain a respectable guard force, an alliance with their borrowed guard force would benefit greatly. Want a good example? How many times did the Rose show up with 20 or so people unannounced? (Bird) Stops raids, banditry and general stupidity pretty quickly. --------------- In terms of this Genocide, it would do wonders for Malinor. If not purging a bit of the unneeded playerbase, it would give the group a uniting factor, which to be blunt, Malinor had for quite some time. Then, Malinor whined it off the server. Had the Exodus chose to stay, Malinor could have properly united, got some good ideas going and formed a decent military, which would have fixed quite a few of the problems. Another example, Kalos/2.5 Islands. Rose and Blackmont-Teuton wars. We kept at it for quite some time, eventually leading in an alliance with the Orcs, Humans and Dwarves. The major halting factor, Emperor's decrees aside, war with Malinor. The TO, White Rose and Blackmont reforged alliances for a singular goal, because our singular figurehead commanded it as such. ---- Just constructive criticism. Major Dom 1297 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Here's how to fix Malinor: Act as a nation, not a conglomerate. Stop fighting battles you obviously can't win. Stop complaining about everything. Get your military together. Get your government together.

Draeris 3124 Share Posted December 9, 2013 And thus said Iblees, I shall make your race cursed with the traits of chaos Jokes aside, we are painting Malinor as this catastrophic aftermath of elven monarchy. Malinor needs some polishing but it is not like it can't do anything, people enjoy their lazy lives too much, and with some community help the goverment and military will get together anyways. The Lumidrim is working hard, just sit back and roleplay.
argonian 14254 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Stop with the ******* democracy. Get a proper ruler. Get soldiers and get them to actually guard and patrol instead of cybering 24/7. Enforce laws with strictness and have a no nonsense policy so that edgies and cultists don't get away with their crimes. Then get some allies and stop declaring wars without IC reasons. And last but definitely not least, stop whining about RP not going your way. In Aegis, Malinor generally didn't go around starting wars(unless they joined with their allies) but they had guards and would defend themselves if they were attacked. That made sense. Since Asulon, you've generally had few guards or none and you've been starting wars but voiding them when they started going against you. Which makes no sense.
youlovesocks 652 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Malinor's government is failing the same way Oren's noble system failed. When there is too much of a once rare thing, it begins to lose it's rarity. The authority of the Malinor government goes up and down just like the price of diamonds goes up and down, based on supply and demand. When you have 7+ princes, each prince loses their authority because they are more common. When there are 50 noble houses, being a noble loses its 'spizaz' because it's a common thing. Fix it. Props to Ptah. Good sh*t my boi
ToenailTickler 290 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Why not have the three subraces split. Have the one with the best government conquer the other ones :DJust kidding that's a dumb idea. Put a king/queen/emperorororor in charge with supreme power. The goal of said leader is to actually have a stable nation.Or ya know, have all of you get killed by human blades and make a new country. Actually I like this plan better.
