New Magic User List [Updated]

I made it so people could msg people for help on magic. 

Now thats a good idea. I suggest a totally different format, however.

I suggest a simple list of people who have specific magical know-how, so that people can easily contact said person, and ask questions.

Right... if this is staying up, please remove all mention of me. However, if you make the list of people with magical know-how you can list me under all types of evocation, and Druid magic. This is unnecessary and feels like an attempted throwback at the old system as has been said.

The real problemn is...

 

This list allows to people to metagame both your rp and ooc name, and they would know wich kind of magic, so it would be like:

Metagamer: Teach me magic

T5 Mage: Why?

Metagamer: I know that you are a mage! i readed it on forums! now, teach me or i kill you.

T5 Mage: lol k

T5 Mage teaches Metagamer magic, then he goes and makes a pool for the removal of this topic.

lol that's not how it works. Usually if anyone asks for a teacher they're instantly ridiculed and given the stupid 'ask not for magic, let magic ask for you' quotes.

 

Plus, if they're a T5 mage they could probably just roflstomp anyone who threatens them with the 'i keel u if u dunt giv me magix'

I know that metagaming is against the rules, and they would be easily able to wipe out the metagamer.

Another thing is the fact that people will only talk with you because you look like a mage, ask for magic or stay with you for learning magic. I agree with you.

Really I don't care about this thread anymore than most people these days but you guys should get the whole past tier system out of your head. Its no longer relevant. If you think you can maintain this thread however good on you. It'll be hard and yield no real reward but good luck!

I'd prefer if this thread was not a thing, as it promotes metagaming of who has magic. I'd rather people find out in RP. Perhaps only list those who request to be listed?

Or just keep a list somewhere out of the eyes of the general playerbase for keeping track of all em fizz poppin' magic folks.

I have a suggestion for you, It will both help you to keep the list updated and make it something useable ingame without worry about meta-gaming and such frowned upon rule breakings.

 

Why don't you change this list to a RP thread calling for all teachers and students of magic "who wished to be known" send you a letter describing what they are willing to teach, requirements and how they may be found. It would greatly help new players find teachers who are actually accepting students, and teachers who are not from being listed.

 

You may optionally list "rumored" teachers for those more difficult to find, or who wish to be known to the list but without giving details.

 

You wouldn't even need to post this with your character per say, you could have an alternate "Forum Scribe" just for such a duty.

And to everyone else. I've stated multiple times that isn't this kind of list. I'd appreciate if people would read that I wrote this is a OOC thing that's gonna link new players to potential people to guide them in that magic type and help them, and it provides links to the magic guides as well, I just need to finish making it.
