Why Lotc Shrunk And What Players Need To Do

I've been thinking about it for a while, but I believe I understand now why things are so.

There is one main reason Lotc has shrunk from when it was better and that is because of age. When Minecraft came out it was a couple of friends looking for a game and they found Minecraft. It's the same way for nearly all of those older players and they made videos, and in turn younger kids latched on. Over time these older players stopped playing Minecraft or Lotc for many reasons like; boredom, school, family, starting their life ect. The problem is Minecraft has acquired a younger immature player base across all severs and this can really entertain or annoy people above their level of maturity. What Minecraft has become is not entirely a good thing, however so long as we keep the players of inteligence beyond clicking your mouse to kill Someone, we can hope to find more players of like understanding.

What is maturity? It's when you face a problem from every side, when you listen to others no matter what the answer. It's to suck up something that has wounded your pride or your pixels, it's to judge on what actually happened and not people's opinions. It's to be able to handle something without raging or crying, to not whine (complain without a solution in mind), and to be able to move on and be able to have fun without trolling. It's to remain calm and fair no matter what the other side says, to swallow your pride for the greater good, and to change when you need to change; for the only way to change someone is if they want to change. And above all to question authority, no matter how corrupt or biased or bought it is, to not judge by the tails side but rather heads, tails, and the space in between.

It doesn't matter who posts it but maturity is what it is and every above point should be something to strive for in order to make The Lord of the Craft as fun as it once allegedly was.

(Any reply pointing fingers or complaining of an event would be immature, for example.)

To be honest, I'd say we're gaining players, not losing.

From the start of Aegis to now we have lost players.

Recently, I'd argue, we have gained players.

Whether we've lost or gained, his point still stands firm in my opinion.

Maturity needs to happen and the #1 rule of society needs to be followed:

Don't be a female hygiene product that is in a bag form, since that word is censored

While some may disagree, you can't expect maturity out of everyone. People online are like kittens turned into tigers. We don't care, because they don't actually know us. Some people get online so they can be as trolly as possible with no consequences. Some people get online so they don't have to have intelligent conversation. People use the internet and become a different person. IRL, I'm usually very quiet unless around close friends. Here, I can use all caps all the time. Because I don't have to see all of you every day and deal with your dislike of me for immaturity. (I'm not saying I'm always immature and stuff, this is mostly just hypothetical. Though I can be pretty immature.)

Minecraft is a dying platform. I give it a year before they lose their income and don't make that big a profit. The boom of it is over, it's become just another game. :(

I concur.

I will say the server is on an upward trend at this point in time. Further the player base attitude has improved quite a bit.

Its true that those that originally started playing minecraft (and this server) are getting older and making way for them youngins, I feel that LotC has kept a pretty good standard of what is expected from players. Yes, there is always room for people to be more mature but for the most part its a lot better than what it could be at this point.

And from what I've seen Minecraft might not have the same boom it use to have but with how open it is for players to do whatever they want with the platform its going to keep a loyal playerbase for a while yet. It might be "just another game" now but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable for those playing.

That's not what Im really saying here, I'm saying that both the current and to be players need to mature, rage will always come but when it escalates to ooc hate it has gone to far. Recent wars have proven this, that whoever you are fighting is your enemy icly and oocly, but if your friend you knew in real life went from an Orc to Oren would you hate him? No you wouldn't and it should be so for each and every player here. Mature, strive to mature, it will improve the server and it will improve your life as well, but if we can't raise beardlings to be like us then why bother at all? What is a server with tyrannical staff or a immature player base? what we need to do is mature EVERYONE needs to do this, I can't change you, only you can change yourself, so I bid thee who read this, mature and so will those below you, when Somone looks up to Somone they will strive to be like said person. Start setting examples people, or we will have complaint threads over every violent act ever done, so if you've learned anything through this thread than please join the cause.

Yeah. Back in 2011 it was this beta indie game that was all the talk on the internet and there was a lot of excitement and activity on all servers. Now its just another game and although it probably still has just as many players, there isn't as much enthusiasm and it has gotten old and stale.
