Hello LotCers young and old,

I know we are all await our glorious 4.0 map and all its glorious plugins but I have a few concerns.

I for one would like to see a mapped out version of what the Skills/Professions plugin is going to be. Why? Cause I think the players deserve a say. We are the ones playing and most of the time plugins change based on what the players want. Why not save all the trouble and hassle and do it now while 4.0 hasnt dropped yet. This skills plugin is going to save the lotc rp I feel.

Im not a big fan of a bunch of secrets, I know there are other ways to "surprise" the playerbase why make it something so important that our future roleplay circles around it. I think we can vote on it and see what happens.

If they choose not to release some info on it, meh so what its worth a shot.

Give us time, don't try to push it artificially.

We/ll release a snapshot when the time arises like with Nexus Craft and Magic. :)

Im not asking for a push, I was merely asking to see a paper version of what its planned out to be :)

Didn't you already make that video on the LotC youtube channel with the spells? I found that fantastic if thats what the 4.0 magic is gonna be.

Sorry but those snapshots were horrible. The magic hardly worked and both plugins were taken down after a while.

What a ringing endorsement.

I am filled with confidence.

I don't recall you participating in the beta-experience that we organized. Did you watch the videos either?

What is your confidence worth after assessing these two points then? No offense man, but the rate at which work is done and the level of confidence portrayed here aren't related by causation in any way.

Sorry guys, but I don't speak pessimism. I'm not sure what universe you live in Watcher, but people loved the snapshots, and contrary, they were actually amazing. I know what people think because I spoke to them directly, and they shared their experiences with me. A buggy experience is intentional, it's quite literally slapped on it 'beta'. Nonetheless, even if people didn't like some aspects of the plugin they enjoyed the aspect of being able to be there and witnessing it in progress.

Logging on to see so many players playing on the dev and testing it, finding bugs and reporting them-- the experience was awesome and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Not sure what else you can wish for than an actual hands on experience, it's incredible that we got it done and handled. The reason why it was taken down later on? The beta-testing is done, pretty obvious explanation. :)

Yes absolutely, we even opened up the beta-server for players to run up and test them on their own time when they liked. Currently we are still preparing new content to be beta-tested so hold tight. ^-^

Next up I'm planning to do another video on the Nexus interface as well as Nexus-Regioning (specially requested by administration! :D) as soon as school eases up on me.

Is it an open beta for any player to jump on and test them out? If so could you inform us of the server IP?

I thought the plugins were nice myself. The magic plugin is pretty awesome.

Hey guys :D

I appreciate the poll, although it reads to me as the LotC equivalent of a referendum headlining "should there be less taxes?" And not to offend those of the libertarian persuasion, but while nobody likes taxes we do realize they are a necessary evil. And so, too, is secrecy.

Composing a paper version takes time, as does clarifying and justifying said paper version to the subsequent criticism. This is time that could also go into making deadlines. We prefer beta tests, then, owing to the hope that people might test for bugs, report glitches, or do a number crunch on the system.

Players DO deserve a say, but that's not the only factor that weighs in. Fear of change runs common and rationalizing the status quo is easy, but the amount of 'staff take action', 'staff start leading' and 'rp is declining' outcries are similarly to be considered.

Tel, ignore them, yes, they want something. And they're willing to use a somewhat mean attitude to demean you into telling them.

Hiebe I'll pm you some stuff since I was part of the beta testing.
