  1. 1. Do you want another temp map?

  2. 2. If you had another temp map how would you like it done?

    • MC Generated
    • World Painted
    • Use a existing map (Basicly request to use someone map, such as Kilgrim's.)
    • I voted No
  3. 3. Nation Starter Camps?

Hi I'm Dave. Basicly over the last few days/weeks I've been hearing the same type of statements over and over.

"Oh I'm fed up of this map, Fringe is boring... I'll do it in 4.0." , ect....

Well considering it's not really in our best interest to rush 4.0 . The question arises should we go to another temp map? Similar to how we went from Elysium to Kalos. Lore reasoning aside yes or no? Post thoughts or whatever you want to say down below.

That's it... Just vote, I don't really know what else to say for now blah blah....

Create new map, further delay 4.0 for new map's creation.

Nah.

I'd suggest people get comfortable in the Fringe rather than waiting on 4.0. It'll be done when it's done, I'm afraid. It isn't imminent.

Understandable standpoint but it assumes the same people are behind both. A 3.75 could potentially be made by workers with no involvement or possible involvement in 4.0.

It's like when people complain at the tech team for making plugins that aren't the magic plugin or professions plugin and thus delaying it. The techs making these other plugins have no involvement in the magic plugin, nor can they. It's not as if you can divert the processing power of all techs onto one plugin.

I just want 4.0 already. I think another map would delay it.

Sorry, I do not support.

But if the new map was half-assed it would just bring more discontent and complaint.

Well, I do remember a lot of people saying Kalos sucked and that they would just wait until 4.0. Presumably the same was said on Elysium, which is why they made Kalos as well. Now, these two maps are remembered as some people's best time on LotC (or at least best time in a while). I suppose I'm just less inclined to believe making a new temp map will do much more than briefly increase player count.

A map's what you make of it. It's the same players, nations and RP whichever map you're on.

Good point.

Not if its MC generated.

Another temp map is completely unnecessary. People will just start complaining about that map, too.  Besides, we'll be delaying 4.0 even more.

I don't support this post.

Honestly we could just use one of Kilgrim's maps.

Temp maps are enjoyable for about two weeks to a month, usually due to the excitement of settling into a new land and the disputes and RP that come with it. After that initial period wears off, players find themselves with little to do. Many do not care about the map simply because it has no effect on anything, and they wait for 4.0. The rest either war endlessly to pass the time or cyber in taverns.

It's silly to think the Fringe won't (or already hasn't) lose it's appeal far before 4.0 comes. Give us a Minecraft generated map and let us play minecraft and get off boring, boring Fringe. If not that, then give us 4.0 very soon -- which isn't going to happen.
