It had been quiet in the streets of Kaphro. The occasional merchant may have strolled by, the rare adventurer. It wasn’t until the light began to shine upon the streets that the body was dumped there.

It scarcely resembled an elven girl. Her right leg and two hands had been brutally cut off by a saw, each and every one of her teeth extracted, one eye missing, the other sliced, blinding her. Her hair ripped off, her scalp red. Not to mention what appeared to be the letter ‘C’ engraved into her neck. That was not the entirety of the story, however. Every wound had been cauterised. She was still alive.

All she had ever wanted was a dog. Someone took advantage of her innocence.

A young woman found the mutilated corpse, before crying out for help. What was left of the girl cried out in agony for it to end. For the pain to leave her. The guards took pity on her, knowing no cleric could ever heal such catastrophic wounds. Her life was ended before she was questioned. Who had killed her?

An autopsy was carried out. Limbs sawed through and cauterised, seemingly drugged to have allowed this to happen. One thing was certain, this monster was not done.

Archibald notices a crowd gathering around the body. His curiosity piqued, he ambles over and begins shoving his way through the crowd to see what was catching everyone's attention.  Aghast and sickened at the sight of the body, he gagged, nearly vomiting. He looked at the body once more and to the people surrounding it, many of them sobbing or sporting a disgusted grimace. The Southeron man slowly pushed his way back to the outside of the crowd and uttered two words for what he had just saw.

"Too spooky..."

Yohnas had decided to make a stop in the town of Kaphro during his travels. If not for the merchants huddled at their stalls and the high chance of getting a good bargain, then the fine wine and the hearty townsfolk found on the streets and in the taverns.

Upon hearing the commotion, Yohnas had hurried over to the source, laying eyes on the mutilated corpse. His nose would wrinkle as the smell would hit his senses. “Alarming…” he’d remark simply, staring down at the body a little while longer before turning his back, returning to his normal buisness.Yohnas had decided to make a stop in the town of Kaphro during his travels. Catherine had sauntered over to the mangled body, she had recoiled at the sight of it and screamed for a cleric. Only when the guards had ended her life had she realised that there wasn't a thing that could ever have been done. She had witnessed someone rushing from the mutilated body but she was seconds too late to know who it was. All she knew was that she was a target.

Word of the most recent grotesque slaughter in Kaphro reaches the Imperial Palace, where the message is delivered to the Crown Prince's Chambers, whose doors have been shut for quite some time. Only a few moments after the message is received, another is given out. Several couriers are sent out from the palace, spreading word about the news of a new monster.

And a new monster meant a new hunt.

Ben Avice is sitting in his usual seat at the tavern when he hears a bunch of commotion outside. Ben decides to head outside, mug in hand. As he nears the scene he finds the mutilated corpse of a girl. His face wretches at the sight. "Clean this mess up." he says to the few guards around. "These thieves and murderers must be stopped. Charles have all the guards on high alert." he huffs as he turns back around heading for the tavern. He downs the remains of his lager in one go as he walks along the path, tossing his mug into the grass.
