Big -1 from me friend :(

The old PvP system you are reflecting on is the same one where diamond armor would be two hit by gold.

There is no skill whatsoever here!

The way I see it this plugin is only making it so people who aren't very good at PvP could be able to win a fight against someone who is, it's just dumbing down PvP further.

The mention of armor weight is really what triggered me to respond. How this be a suggestion? The slower you are in minecraft, the more it turns into a fight of luck, it eliminates strafing, juking, comboing, like what the **** m8? Then throwing the percentages in ontop of that just further randomizes ****.

-1

Tnt and the use of cannons should be allowed back to counter impenetrable forts (plus they were hella fun to use.). But as for the armour weight and the gold weapons? Naaah, I remember them back in the day and they were horrid! It removes all skill and tactics of vanilla pvp.

It doesn't have to be exactly the same and armor weight doesn't have to be a thing, I was just noting important parts of the plugin that made it distinctly unqiue. I do not really think armor weight was that bad especially if you take a look in those videos of how people are moving around and their mobility. Also 2 hitting wasn't really a thing because of breaking weapons, parrying, counter attacking, and all that other random stuff that made the combat unique.

I loved the old fighting system, Archery was the Sh!t, dwarves and orcs used axes like badasses, and people in leather could outrun people in iron.

I think one of the best things we can do is make these unbreakable forts less effective. **** those battles are so boring.

There needs to be an incentive to have tactics. To have a squad of horsemen, beefy axeman, quick striking skirmishers, bowmen. Flanking, ambushes, false withdraws are common, yes, but there is no formation of troops or anything. No arrow storms, or calvary charges that smash through the lines and turn back or whatever.

Oh, and yeah, armour weight was shitty. I think the most reasonable thing would be iron armour = weakest slowness. Maybe 15%, if you can make it only that much.

I just hope the levelling system for the professions plugin isn't the one proposed at first; that being that skills increase over time as you are online in order to simulate RP experience (or something). Just do a normal skill plugin.

There's some combat videos of Aegis around Youtube, too.

**** son, never saw that. That's some next level artism. Bad.

And I really disliked diamond armour in Asulon. It was too necessary and too rare. Most people had it, but that was because they were part of the nation that mined for a long time.

I hope Nexus has what you posted Pok, if so, I'm so hyped. I have to agree with you.

I think players who are busy rping (not wielding their weapon during a battle) should be left alive so they may RP their duty.

You have to be reasonable here. It will be hard to distinguish who is doing what in the heat of the moment and besides that if the attacking army breaches the castle/fort/whatever it is their choice and shouldn't be dictated by OOC rules honestly. Plus it could be exploited:

*Medic heals the men [don't kill me I'm Rping!]

*the men get up from their wounded state and charge again!

or

*All the medics suddenly turns around whipping out their swords and slaughtering the army!

Nexus combat had a disastrous reception because it touched vanilla pvp.. The tech team isn't going to touch pvp with a ten foot pole anymore.

Unless you might want to make the plugin yourself. :)

I wouldn't say it was too necessary. The rarity was just enough that people only really pulled it out when absolutely needed. I mean, I had a set of it I stole obtained from a quartermaster pre-battle (The salvus war, I think?) and it lasted me through the whole map.

As for the idea? +1 on everything. I'd much rather have pre-restriction (Or maybe lightened restrictions. I just don't want to have to have a profession to be able to auto-heal) skills than whatever the tech team's making. Nexus Combat's first incarnation was... less than good. I don't know if I trust the tech team to improve.

Nexus Combat had a disastrous reception because it was bad. Not because it touched vanilla PvP.

You're a good coder, Tel, but the problem with Nexus Combat wasn't with the code. The problem was that the changes were bad.

Maybe plugins would be better received if player feedback was taken more seriously.

teach me how to code

Edit:

also the nexus plugin was just flat out terrible dude, I mean I'm sorry to say that but it was really bad. vaq's plugin just added to it and didn't take things away like nexus did. I think you have grown as a coder to try and go back to it though.

That's not entirely true, some extreme paraphrasing going on there. It had a disastrous reception, and was thrown out by the community because it made some races *objectively* more powerful in PVP.

If you were bothered by people not appreciating the plugin you worked so hard at making and don't want to risk it happening again, I understand. But sometimes we just gotta get back up and try again.

People didn't like Nexus PVP because it changed the core way to PVP. Taking away the spam click was just a bad idea. But making say... Axes viable is something people want.
