(Ooc) Best/worst Orenian Leader

I reckon I liked the reigns of the Chivays, Mog and Coaster the best. The rest have never really stood out to me, such as the Carrions after Vibius' rebellion to be honest. This was mostly due to Oren not really seeing like a super-power when there was major division (ie. Aesterwald.) I can't really comment on anyone else because I wasn't around or active at the time.

the real question is who was the most powerful ruler of malinor

Peter Chivay ;)

If slumdog millionare pbuh could siphon off wifi from rich hotels in the delhi slums, surviving on nothing but curry for weeks on end, I think he has earned the merit to be called lord of the craft

In terms of perception and accomplishment of their reigns from an IC perspective (because as other people mentioned, various rulers faced crises that hindered their capabilities making it hard to determine this OOCly), I'd say Godfrey for best and William for worst.

Best? Peter Chivay for sure. Followed by Mog.

Worst? Eh. I never liked any of the Carrions much but that was more of a style thing, rather than just leadership.

Best: I'm gonna have to go with Peter Chivay, although I would also consider Mog for this spot, I never really experienced his reign.

Worst: William 'the Weak Willy' Horen followed by those who lead humans prior to Mog.

I decided to make an ordered list with some reasons behind it

1. Alexander Carrion

- Chillest guy I know on lotc so he has to be one. Other than being put in a very strenuous and difficult position, Ark was the kind of ruler that Oren deserved, but not the one it needed. If he wasn't thrusted into the position he was given he would've done an amazing job.

2. Siegmund/ Heinrik Carrion

- Both great guys and I list them together because they had similar governmental goals, such as centralization and Siegmund's reign over Oren was too short and really runs into Heinrik's reign. They brought stabilization and revival to a broken Oren where there was none to be found. No matter how much people hate Carrions they have had (mostly) great leaders, even though Knox went a bit crazy and power mad.

3. Mogrocka's Horens

- Pretty much the same people, but Mog brought together all of humanity to create the most powerful empire the server has ever seen. He had excellenet diplomacy and was able to keep it alive for quite a long time. However he isn't number one due to the fact that he had an excellent privy that helped a lot in keeping the empire running and together.

4. Andrik Vydra

- Brought together humanity once more, not as powerful as before, but achieved overwhelming victories leading the humans against the waldenians and co even while outnumbered and probably the best military leader Oren has ever had. Once he united Oren again, it became, by far, the best nation in all of lotc once more and still is.

5. Peter and Chivay Horen

- Put these together because they had very similar rules, blending in the discipline and order that constituted the White Rose into a power house military state that brought together Oren once more after a failed short reign before their rise to power. Though it was certainly not their ability that put them into power, but was Peter's that kept them in it.

6. Tobias Carrion

- Nothing quite that significant during his reign, but as an excellent organizer and steward and ran the Empire very smoothly during his reign. Had he not been banned then he probably would have smashed the Renatian rebellion and done more.

7. Cruzazul's Carrion (can't remember his name)

- Returned Carrion's back to the top and reigning over Oren again, but other than that, nothing much of note.

8. William Horen

- Yes, he was put into a very difficult position, but he put way too much trust into a mainly incompetent privy that were his friends and proceeded to make bad decisions because of this and eventually gave into stress and gave up.

((can't think of any others right now, but if you do I'll add them in if you tell me.))

First, who the hell is Andrik Vydra?

But I'd say Knox and Sheumgal did a good job of keeping Oren alive during the Fringe when it often looked like collapsing due to battles actually being lost against that coalition of Dwarves and other miscreants. I'll still remember that sally/pincer over the walls of Vekaro when we were outnumbered 2:1 and still won.

Obviously credit has to be given to Mog who managed to make something absolutely fkin huge from a few fragmented human states, but that was around the time that I joined and I wasn't really too involved around that time.

Love you too Ark, brother. The great betrayal, never 5get it friend.

Worst was Maric because he turned into an undead zombie and tried to kill everyone by sending dead and desecrated human corpses to destroy everyone and corrupted the land around angren for a good while. gg bro nice kinging.

In the scheme of things the Sheffields were probably the worst. You have one cannibalizing his wife and the other one handing over the crown to one of Oren's greatest enemies/traitors at the time while his kingdom is in shambles and the last true town within it was run by a handful of knights in a keep that was smaller than some of the houses in Petrus nowadays. Enor's knighting ceremony for my guy was on the side of the road while preparing to build Galahar, didn't even use a sword to dub him. Grr, my immersion, grr. That probably establishes how apathetic of a leader he was though. His actions lead to the last of his few loyal men making the Phoenix rebellion and splintering Oren into Renatus, Hanseti and Salvus. Although Hanseti was established before this, to be fair, but Gaius being made king for a short while technically united it all briefly. The Sheffields crippled the humans for a long while and the recovery time was quite a bit longer compared to other slumps in human history.
