The orks have a very low population, we are only able to muster 20 or so orks when war rolls around. This is a huge problem with many factors behind it and I was just curious which one is the biggest so I set up this fabtastic poll!

People want to still be able to Roleplay as the beautiful guy, the romantic guy, or the guy that can Roleplay anything. As an Orc, you're centered to a few Roleplays, suggested around the Code of Krug, your profession, the spirits, and other Orcs.

As any other race there is TONS more. Magics, Sociability, Romance, More Politics, etc. So I'd say it's our Roleplay. Not that there's anything bad with it, but that we're just Orcs.

A lot of these things? Orcs right now are nothing what they should be. A lot of competent Rexes in the past who had the ability to improve the Orcish race have all been klomped out because of their inferior PvP skills. This has lead to a stagnant environment where change can't happen. Man, how I would kill to have a small group of Orcs that do tribal hunts, shaman events, and raiding small villages.

I imagine Orcs as bands of savages traveling, having a small centralized home. They raid small settlements and prey on the weak, hitting areas and raiding them before anything can be done. Their speak does not make them sound like three year olds.

I do not imagine Orcs with giant cities with barely a population to hold the fraction of that size. I don't imagine Orcs holding alliances or having formal raids on capitals, because they would have to sustain a larger force and more holdings, which they can't.

The capital is too big for proper roleplay, the culture/mindset is bonked, and the dialect itself can't make me take any Orc seriously.

I imagine LotC Orcs to be cool, and right now, they aren't.

This might just be me but the only reason I can't play an orc is because of the blah. I understand it fine but **** me I can't speak it. I'm sure there are real problems with the race and why there aren't many orc players, but the blah might be just me..

The blah is something you have to do for a couple of days, it literally becomes your second language after a while.

I think the basis of Orc RP means that they won't ever have a highly active RP base. They only are ever really high-population when there's a big war going on and a particular cliche comes back for a bit (This is from like, experience looking from the forums/6+ months ago, so take it with a grain of salt). Orc RP is really centralized on the nation, and the capital, and only between the orcs. Sometimes you will get someone who is allowed into the culture who isn't an orc, and you get a bit of RP, but there is never that much RP between orcs. Atleast, you have to try really hard for that RP. Even as a Wargoth, I think I only ever RPed without going into PVP like <10 times. And the fact that any Orc that is a whitewash is a fugitive/murdered on sight by every race, you can't really RP effectively as an Orc.

I would say the language is a bit overwhelming for new players though I would say a positive is the kush..

People who spell orc with a k.

There's so little to do as them from what I see/hear. They're mostly just villains, so with any desire to be non-villainous playing an orc seems impossible.

Roleplay, Roleplay,Roleplay. You need to scale down and centralise the Orcish capital so houses, shops and the leadership are all close and able to make Orcs who are on see eachother easily.  You need to make a dedicated leadership of one leader and maybe 5 or so steward type people of different Timezones, say two GMT , three EST/PST. Through this you have ways to drive RP. An active leadership (who drive RP, you can't expect players to easily make their own) with solid ecenomic systems to keep them busy and generate things to Grind/do with solid social systems to engage in RP and make it so that active palyers hold the hand of new players making them the active players and building on that. You also need solid foregin policy so your status to other players is solid and not political. **** POLITICAL Orcs! Make your capital inpenetarable, more like a beefy fort town than a city.

On the tone of fighting I would suggest become known as the raiders again but only pick fights with other guard forces of nations(people who enjoy a fight), to others be indifferent, as long as they don't respect you, or do not follow compliment on your lands. If anyone get's buthurt over your culture hide in your beefy, easy to defend, capital.

Another note on new players, have no new player who does not know the blah play from a cub, so they slowly begin to understand a speak justm like a child. It stops people from bieng dropped in at the deepend and keeps the language consistant.

I have about said what my ideal orcs/ what I think your work and drive up numbers is, some things that in my opinion could help is some GM's and ET in the nation to do Rp events (taliored to Orcs, none of this fairy shite), and PVE engagineg with the corrupted zone east of Orcish lands.

Blah is just ridiculous in my opinion, it's absolute nonsense. I remember just phasing out entirely because I couldn't understand the Orcs speaking at a diplomatic meeting.
