Ark 2835 Popular Post Share Posted April 5, 2015 A Dragon's Descent A group of men wearing clothing fit for those of bandits scale the mountain of Dragon’s Peak, their faces covered in bandannas, teeth grit in determination. At the head of the rugged pack was a boy, no older than seventeen, his young face a sharp contrast to those of his grizzly comrades. His steely blue eyes focused on the statue of the dragon hovering over the sleeping town. As they arrive, covered by the veil of night, they begin their work. Checking for any guards or sentry on the prowl, one man retrieves the black powder from the barrel in his hands. His hands tremble as he sets the fuse to the explosive, one wrong move and his death was sure to be a fiery one. Without a word the men go about their task, throwing ropes over the wings of the dragon. In sync they pull, a well coordinated scheme, executed perfectly. As the stone begins to creak at its foundations the young lad overseeing the job raises his torch, looking around at the darkness and silence. He drops the torch upon the trail of powder that leads to the explosive. With a great flash of light and plume of fire did the statue explode, shattered pieces flying away as effortlessly as a bird in flight. The men quickly move off at the commotion, being sure not to be around any longer then necessary. "The Dwarves were not enough.... the elves no match... what of dragons?" The ship continues to rock, the towering black plated man disappears below the deck of the ship.
