Orcs of Vailor

In Vailor the Orcs will be undergoing a full RP/PvP overhaul. Their style of RP/Personalities and attitudes would change to fit the style of roleplay we wish to achieve in Vailor.

The Orcs would act more secluded and hidden in their vast desert. Seeing an Orc on a consistent basis or outside their natural landscape would be considered rare. Unlike this map, they won’t be frequently seen in taverns and such. To find an Orc you’d have to travel great distances and lengths to meet them.

Slavery

The Orcs in Vailor would alter their style of RP substantially, slavery is an aspect affected by this greatly. Instead of heading out, in a public location, and finding some random player and enslaving them with mediocre RP. Slavery would be more intricate and planned, ambushes and such established on roads and other sparsely populated areas to provide proper, enjoyable, roleplay for both parties. It is illogical to enslave someone in front of 10-15 people and walk away with them. It would need to be done more subtly and more RPly.

Hunting

Hunting will be done consistently throughout the Orc Lands, random hunting-parties can be established and head out to hunt. The Orcs would be encouraged to contact ET members/GMs that are available to hold events for them that involve hunting various beasts/animals throughout the Orcish Desert. In the tradition of hunting, the rank of Huntsgoth will also be re-established in Vailor.

Shamanism

Shamans would be expected to play a primal role within Vailor to enhance the roleplay and culture of Orcish society. They would be expected to provide mini-events and roleplay to Orcs and encourage others to follow in their footsteps. This can range from going out to gather alchemy resources with a small group of Orcs or even just travelling through the desert to various shrines for some cultural roleplay. In order to promote Shamanism and the cultural roleplay, the rank of High Shaman will be returning to consistently provide this standard of roleplay throughout the Iron Uzg.

Building/Architecture/Land

In Vailor, the Orcs maintain a large, vast desert landscape. In order to keep with the consistency of the terrain and the quality of the land, several shrines are expected to be built throughout the land to various spirits, fires and camps. Every Clan is also going to be given land to govern on behalf of the Rex in Vailor. Every Clan will construct a formidable Clan Fort and would use that as a base of operations. That fort would also be used in the defense of the Iron Uzg and used to oversee the land that is given to them.

Tribute

The Orcs won’t be all about pillaging, razing and killing we would also be more strategic in our movement throughout Vailor. We would focus on also collecting tribute from towns/settlements. Each tribute-state will make a chest named ‘Tribute chest’ in which they would put their weekly tribute and a Goblin will go and collect them and present it to the Rex. The tribute will be according to the land, wealth and power of the town/settlement. This would act as a source of income for the Orcs as we do not excel in trade or tax our own people in minas, but instead demand tribute from others. I will make a tribute list on the forums which would keep our intake and outtake in order and tell us what tribute we are getting, from whom etc. Tribute will not only be materials, but could also be paid in information as ‘scouts’.

Looking good, guys. Almost makes me want to play an Orc! But I'm bound to Orenia, hopefully I'll run into one of you guys sometime. I've seen the better side of Orcs in the past, and I imagine this will be a similar step in the right direction. I wish the best for you big, ugly dudes.
(and of course small, slightly less ugly Wood Elf.)

Jk in all seriousness

I would really like to see these changes, and I hope that you guys are able to make this change.

I don't think being isolationist is a good policy for a fun, active population. Works for high elves because they have the dichotomy with other Elves, and were fairly large, but Orcs are smallish so I feel RP will grow stale. Meh, haven't play my Orc in forever, don't have a say in it, I guess.

Can I steal this format for the halfling one?

The slavery part could work, but being subtle and using deceit is not an Orcish trait. The way it is handled now with large and public slaving is, half arsed. The issue there lies in that the RP have been a bit lacking from our side and people reacted to that, as in things were simply rushed as if it is just about getting the slave and then end the RP there. Have to have responsible people when taking slaves, maybe the Rex can issue people to be slavers as a start to see how it turns out?

End of the line I think we could continue the ancient way? To plan an ambush would be a bit cowardly to do so, but instead find locations with X amount of people that we could raid, attack them, use brute force as that is a key part. We just have to do it better and have the right people doing it because it is a sensitive thing.

And yes no public mass enslaving with mediocre RP, agreed!
