_pok_ 1768 Share Posted June 26, 2015 The Lone Bull Falls-----------------------------Orcish Settlement, Island of Elysium - 1159 Pok’Ugluk sat silently across a table from the Rex, Sharku’Gorkil. The last few months had been tense as civil war had erupted between two Orcish factions vying for control of the Uzg in the aftermath of the fall of Strigzgoi. Beside Pok sat his greatest friend and ally, Mokrag’Braduk whose troops had been critical in securing a few key victories against the loyalist forces. Those victories had brought them here, to the Ugluk fort, to negotiate a final peace between the two sides.Sharku spoke with a silver tongue though, convincing Mokrag that he had joined the wrong side of the war and that Pok was a traitor, his fight against the Uzg was unjust and could not stand. Mokrag looked toward Pok and Pok returned the gaze, simply shaking his head as if to invalidate all of Sharku’s claims. For reasons still unknown, Mokrag chose to side with Sharku and together they enforced a peace upon the Ugluk Wargoth. Sharku would still abdicate the throne, but his work had been done. The bond between Braduk and Ugluk, Pok and Mokrag, had been severely weakened.------------------------------As time went on so too did the increasing rivalry between the Braduks and Ugluks. Mokrag passed away as the Orcs made their move toward the lands of Anthos, but Pok lived on. In Mokrag’s last days, peace between the Ugluks and Braduks had nearly been achieved because of the friendship the two Wargoth’s shared, but with his death a great sorrow filled the heart of Pok and a breakdown in relations between the two clans occurred. The next century would be filled with near constant Ugluk and Braduk conflict. For much of Anthos, the Ugluks held the upperhand. They maneuvered strong political alliances as key Ugluk figures took positions of power within the Goi. Pok himself had managed to re-secure the position of Targoth, one he had not held since his younger times in Aegis, and lead the Krughai as though they were his own children. Though his tenure as Targoth helped contribute to the inevitable fall of the clan as he began to neglect his true children, those of the Ugluk clan. While the Ugluks grew weaker, reaching for more power within the central Orcish government, the Braduks grew immensely in power, stretching their base across much of the ancestral lands of the desert while Pok ruled from the Orcish city of Gronkston, the city which he had captured from the defunct Kingdom of Salvus. As time passed, Pok grew old and he had forgotten the conflict with the Braduks, at least for a time. In his last moments in the realms of mortals, Pok recalled his time spent fighting the Braduks. But those were not the memories of them which carried weight to him. He had raised the Braduks up from his wing, housing them in that first Ugluk fort in the swamplands of Asulon. He and Mokrag had fought side by side on dozens of occasions only to be split apart by a Gorkil just before Krug took Mokrag for himself. Pok couldn’t help but feel the weight of that broken relationship bearing down on him as he passed through the spirit realm to meet Mokrag once again.-----Kodar’Goi - 1513Ugkop’Ugluk sat silently across from his workstation working tirelessly on a new tunic that he might wear into battle. His bull, Bucephaluz, sat beside him watching him work on the tunic, his nostrils flaring as a pair of Orcs approached them from behind. Ugkop did not turn though, he focused on his work until he completed the tunic, then as Bucephaluz stood, Ugkop stood too. He turned to face the Orcs who had come to him. “Ug bruddahz, whu bi lat?” Ugkop looked at the pair with tired, old eyes. The youngest of Pok’s children, his age reached up into the high 150s. “Uz? Id nub mattur,” The Braduk would look at the bull, the back toward Ugkop, snarling loudly, “Mi azk lat azh tik, am diz lat bull?”Ugkop nodded to The Braduk who he did not know, running his hand across the back of his old bull, “Yub!” He says smiling to the pair of Orcs, unsure of why they acted so hostile toward him. Ugkop had no knowledge of the conflicts between the two clans that began so long ago. “Id am Bucephaluz bruddah, hozh bull yub.”The other Braduk snarled, his hand moving slowly toward his war axe, “Whi lat zu zmiley, eh?” The Braduk glared at Ugkop, his massive figure much larger than that of the old Orc. “Am lat gibun mi reezun nub tu bi?” Ugkop became tense as the Orcs showed increasing hostility while Bucephaluz kicked at the ground behind him, letting out a low snarl of his own as stones kicked upward in his wake. “Lat am Ugluk,” hissed the elder Braduk whose eyes had by now turned a deep red, an obvious sign that he was out for blood. Ugkop nodded, telling the pair that his father was the legendary Pok’Ugluk, an Orc who had been both loved and hated. “Wi gruk lat popo, Ugluk. ‘Em betray ourz klan agh wi vow tu deztroeh lat.”In that instant, the rage of all the Braduk’s ancestors seemed to fuel the hatred behind the elder one. His body lunged forward toward Ugkog who took a step back. But Bucephaluz acted first, thrashing the elder, known as Kahn, against a wall of the smithy. Ghaz, the other Braduk, launched himself toward the bull, attempting to cut at it’s throat but Ugkop moved quickly to stop him, barreling him into the ground with resounding force. Kahn struck back, sending his axe barreling at Bucephaluz’s throat. The axe cut along several tendons, but the old bull still stood, backing off slightly as Ugkop beat up on Ghaz. Kahn lunged at Ugkop, but he managed to twist himself out of the way, crouching back to face his opponents. Kahn lunged at Ugkop but Bucephaluz plowed forward, sending Kahn spiraling off of the platform where they stood, temporarily knocking him out of the fight. Ghaz and Ugkop brawled for several minutes with neither Orc able to best the other. This bought time for Kahn to collect himself, letting out a mighty roar as he lunged back into the battlefield. The two Braduks backed away for a moment, then suddenly Ghaz ran off at the word of Khan. Ugkop and Kahn clashed for awhile. Unarmed and unable to fight directly against the armed Kahn, Ugkop attempted to evade him while landing quick hand strikes from time to time. Then he was caught, cut across the chest. On his knees, nearly dead, the old bull Bucephaluz pounced, trying to protect his master. Kahn brought his axe downward on the bull, killing it nearly instantly. Then Ghaz returned just as Ugkop was to be finished off. Ghaz approached Ugkop who kneeled silently before the massive warrior Orc, breathing slowly to himself. As Ugkop felt the air break with the falling of the axe, he rolled to his right and dodged the blow, the massive war axe slamming into the stone with a metallic clang. Ugkop grabbed the his fallen bull’s tusks, ripping one of the massive pieces of sharpened ivory and heaving it toward Ghaz’s throat. Ghaz collapsed as the tusk impaled him, holding his throat tightly as blood spewed from the wound. As Ghaz fell, the reason he had momentarily left was revealed. A dozen Braduk rhinos charged forward, stampeding toward Ugkop. Ugkop leaped off of the platform they stood upon, rushing up upon a pillar not far from the great Arena at the center of the Goi. Ugkop looked down at the ground as Kahn approached, axe in hand. Kahn shouted up to Ugkop whose face was bloodied and tired. “Lat nub eben gruk ub lat faddurz zins, yed lat klomp. Hmpmh.” The Braduk looks up to what should have been his ancient rival, but Ugkop shakes his head refusing to believe this Orc that he has just met. “LAT LIE!” Ugkop leaped down at Kahn, grabbing his throat as he landed several punches on Kahn’s head. Then Kahn reached forward, grabbing Ugkop’s neck, hoisting the Ugluk upward, Ugkop tried weakly to break his grip but failed. The Braduk looked into the eyes of the Old Bull but did not relent, firing several punches at his skull. With a short breath, Ugkop tried to claw at Kahn’s face but the effort was batted aside by the much younger, stronger Orc. The crack was soft but with that sound came the fall of the Ugluk clan. Ugkop’s neck splinted as his near lifeless body collapsed motionless to the cold ground, Kahn standing atop him. Kahn uttered a few more words of victory before stomping down on Ugkop’s head, ending his life. Ugkop did not even know of the conflict between the two clans. He never knew who the Orcs who killed him were, not getting their names or clans. All he knew was that at the end of his life he died defending the honor of his father against Orcs who spoke of an ancient feud. When Ugkop passed into the spirit realm he was greeted by three figures. The first, his mother Kira’Ugluk who he greeted warmly before moving on. The second and third walked toward him together, both unrecognizable to him. The first identified himself as Pok, the other an Orc named Mokrag. Pok frowned as he embraced his youngest son, placing his hand gently on his now scarred neck. The other Orc, a much more intimidating figure looked down at Ugkop. Pok and Mokrag went on to explain the conflict for which he had died, and that the pair had long reconciled in the spirit realm although their descendants fought in the mortal realm. They both exchanged looks up disappointment as they faded away, leaving Ugkop to himself in the Spirit Realm.-----------------A Tent in the Trog - 1513Draka’Yar breathed heavily as she gave birth. It was her first cub and was definitely not cooperating. The Orcs around her encouraged her to push and breathe as the cub began to rear it’s large green head. She couldn’t help but look around the tent, wondering out loud where the father, Ugkop’Ugluk had been. She had warned him several days prior that the birth was coming. She pushed once or twice more before the cub was finally released, the birth mothers handing her the newborn. She ran her hand along the cub's shining temple, a concerned look on her face. Draka’Yar had given birth to his heir, a new Ugluk. Another bull.

the 1 bow 1112 Share Posted June 27, 2015 The goblin servant of Kahn, Larty wun eye, sat in on the ground leaning against one of the many carts loaded with goods to be transported from Athera to Vailor by the Braduk clan. After being told what had happened, he felt jubilated. He had served Mokrag himself, many, many years ago. He had known Kahn since he was a baby, and had felt the sting of this clan war many times over. He pulled out a large book, filled with pages. It was a recollection of events that had happened to the clan, written by numerous Chieftains. He turned to the chapters written by the late Ghazkull, brother of Mokrag. He began reading about the Braduk Ugluk war, remembering the harsh times during Anthos. Filing over numerous passages in the tome, it was as he had suspected. --- A rebellion had broken out in the Uzg of Elysium, led predominately by Pok'Ugluk. Feeling loyalty to his once brother, Mokrag declared the Braduks rebels as well, and sought to aid the Ugluk clan in their war. The reason of this wars conception, lost to time. --- So it was settled, Mokrag and Pok would host the final battle of their rebellion at the Braduk fort Ronata in the far reaches of the desert. On the day the battle was to take place, it was reported to Mokrag that Pok and his clan had changed sides and now fought along side the Warnation, leaving the Braduks on their own in a rebellion they did not start not truely believe in. It was this key point in history that set the sparks for the Braduk Ugluk war, for Mokrag had sacrificed his position in the Uzg and the safety of his people to help Pok and his, yet was betrayed. --- Sharku offered Mokrag the opportunity to take control of the Ugluk clan as he had a grave disdain of Pok. He said Pok and his followers would be disposed and the Braduks would join the Ugluks, and Mokrag would be seated as their Wargoth. Mokrag refused Sharkus offer, seeing only dishonour in him, and his once friends, the Ugluks. Larty nodded to himself, remembering the day that the betrayal took place as if it was yesterday. Suddenly, the Warchief Kahn called out, rallying his clan. Their rhinos began pulling the carts and they made their way to Kodar'Goi, ready to leave this country.
