"I. . really do not like how this is making you sound love. Whilst I won't argue with your breeding laws. . these appearence limitations. . I dislike them. Appearance harms nothing, so why does it matter?" Ash would huff out of frustration, folding her arms over her chest  "And now I have friends who think they're not welcome to visit or be around us at all. .I'm concerned this might end up with more mali leaving us than joining us."

A response is returned.

"I did say I agree that most of them are productive, human and elven breeding should be discouraged. But the specific number of half elves you'll take, what color you can dye your hair... these are just silly, and seem to be born out of a desire to control without logic or reason. I simply believe you are taking an unneeded turn toward stricter laws. Forbid elven and human relationships, but some of these laws go too far.

As for the number of half-elves allowed, in the previous towns weren't those who lived with an elven parent or other relative permitted? By limiting yourself to a random, arbitrary number you're simply going to cause problems as you have to consistently make exceptions. Simply say that anyone with human blood may not reproduce with an elf, and you must contain elven blood to live in town."

Another response is returned.

"Ugly dyes of neon purples, blues and pinks make us look like a race with no self respect. I aim to correct those who choose to look this way rather than acidify them as a high elf would do. Most of the time they revert their hair to their natural form in fact. Suffice to say this law is not changing, and the people with hair such as this are a small minority anyways, making any attempt to make a big issue out of this rather pointless.

As for halfbreeds, I have seen how quickly they multiply, and how quickly the human curse can spread through an elven city. The more we have among us, the harder it will be to prevent them from breeding, laws or no. Perhaps if our starting population of five behaves themselves, we can consider opening our gates for more."

Art would recieve a letter from an old friend.

"Dear Art,

I noticed the new laws you put up, the non-human relation laws wasn't bad, honestly. The hair color one, however, sounds really stupid. It reminds me of my days in the Cihi, when I would look on helplessly as entrants were constantly berated for every small flaw with their person. Restricting how people look, just so it confines to your standards, is a seriously Kalenz move.

Please don't do it.

Sincerely, Nienna.

PS. I'm alive! If all goes according to plan, I'll be visiting you soon."

Upon reading this letter, Artimec grimaces, crumpling up the parchment with a fist and tossing it away, he slumps against the trunk he was sitting against. "I'll believe it when I see her myself." he mutters.

Daniel squints for a moment at the laws, letting out a soft chuckle.

"They should add a law about using concise, proper language."

Cheza looks up from the lilac dye she'd just made, a few flower petals still on the edge of the mortar that escaped her crushing. As she scans the laws her expression turns to a pout for a moment before darting off to hunt down Art.

"Can I dye a small strand of my hair? Or is that against the law too?"

An elf makes a response.

"You're making it a big issue by making a law out of it."

"Good thing I don't live in Cerulin." Ecthallion would remark. "They're starting to mimic those who they vowed to destroy. A bit ironic, innit?" he'd say to a Brother of the Crow as the pair chop wood in the forests of the North.

Ramza sighs and looks to this, shaking his head going to move with his family on the out part of the islands.

"How troublesome... it's like look we are high elves now.." he mumbles looking to the sea as he reaches the beach.

"I wonder how the Druids are living..?"

Lucinda looked up at the notice of the new laws, her now being old enough to read and understand them. With a silent nod to her imaginary fae companion (for she had long ago learned to keep her responses to it silent), she scurried over to flag down Artimec.

"Mister Chancellor wait!" As always, leaves would sprinkle from the fake wings she made that hung from her shoulders. "I made these myself.." she implored, motioning to the wings on her back. "Can I keep them? They aren't real I promise." The girl even made a point to pinch the wings, just for added measure.

Artimec gazes down at the child with a raised brow. He takes a moment to take in what he's looking at before allowing a dry, quiet chuckle, tussling the little ones hair. "That is perfectly fine, mali'ii."

[!] A black hunting hawk would land on Art's shoulder. It would deliver a short note, reading:

STOP OPPRESSING ME!

[!] The note is not signed.

Resmira claps her hands together, reading over the new laws, "Well! I commend them in coming closer to perfection, however... this is hardly original."

[!] A letter is sent to Artimec by sparrow [!]

"Don't let the constant verbal battering of citizens unwilling to correct critical cultural errors pressure you into reconsidering the establishment your laws. I completely agree with what you've laid down, and, quite frankly, these rules being set into stone are considerably attractive to me. I might just have to stay in Cerulin for some while to see how content the Mali would be once they've cone to the realization that you were right the whole time in your judgements! Believe me when I say that you are the change the Mali community needed, my friend. Stand strong, Artimec. Like an Elderwood."

Meleranion looks over the laws, and remembers fondly Duncan Cal'Mir with his pink hair, then wonders of his whereabouts, and conclusively takes a pen, paper, and his brown bird which he cannot place the species, and writes him a letter

"Dear Artimec,

I take it you have forgotten of those who seek difference, and I am very...angered perplexed as to why we take up these rules. Purples, pinks, greens, who cares what color one's hair is, or what they wish it to be? Do you remember, back in the Ivory Guard, good old Duncan Cal'Mir, with the pink hair, and the rebellious outfit of silver on the day I arrived...hell I think a Dark Elf with a mohawk came through that night - an unnatural hairstyle, as far as I see it. I would like some closure on the reasoning of this. But I do understand the reasons of the riddance of interbreeding but still - why not permit half elves? Forbidding half elves only depraves them further than they were before, now they have double the curses and no where to go.

~Meleranion _____"

He sends off the bird and then goes back to his guardly duties.

Marcy would let out a slight grin.

"Hm..... now this is going to be quite the entertainment."

Marcy would go back to leaning back against the trunk of the huge tree by the druid groves. looking towards the Wood Elves town.
