Lockpicking Update

Why would someone waste their time trying to bust into a chest full of gold and iron, and then just take some dinky custom sword? They want the wealth, son. Thieves aren't humble people.

Tbf the attitude of people going 'omg wheres my refund' or 'lets just hide it hurpaderp' is pretty bad. Being a thief is now a viable occupation, allowing new ideas of heists and sneaky activities. It's just the fact that thieves need to act for themselves /and/ the person they are stealing from. Leave notes or taunts towards the person you've stolen from, and both parties get something out of it. The victim gets a sense of duty that they need to catch and brutally slaughter the thief, and the thief gets the feeling that they need to find a hide-out, maybe get some backup to help them out.

It's a good thing that lockpicking is back. Now, all we need is a pickpocket plugin.

At first, the shop will be found within the vicinity of the Cloud Temple. Settlement owners may have one such shop placed in their settlement by contacting the staff.

This is revolting. Metagaming is encouraged.

Why not make lockpicks a craft-able item?

Honestly, I don't see why it should be restricted to RP items. Let a thief carry off what he could realistically take away, and let him probe into chests if he pleases.

Bring back chest looting. Gives banks something to offer and thieves to do. It's really not that bad, I've lost 20k once, I was upset sure but I stole up to 50k in my time on the server

The whole having to have a very specific target is kind of blegh, since that's nearly impossible in the way people store **** and items transfer hands.

The concept I like, the way you did it I don't. So they can steal the one item I spent the most time and money on, but none of the items I dont care about. Plus 3 players at 3 attempts each. 9 attempts to break one lock. In 9 rolls every lock is nearly guaranteed open pretty much.

I hope you guys realize that you pretty much pulled a **** you to both the thief players and more importantly the people who put money into your server.

It doesn't matter. Lockpicking doesn't provide any RP nor does it benefit anyone except for the thief player. Bringing back lockpicking is the staff's way of saying **** you to the people who put money into their server, and can very easily take it back.
