A Moment Of Misfortune

What's bad is the idea they're removing our land to sell and use as events, ruining our race and people.

What's worse is that they're actually doing it for no purpose at all.

Didn't Imattyz said nothing would happen to the halflings? The GM team and the admin team need to strengthen communication, it looks messy.

So the halfling land is being taken for an event... That will likely not be for the whole server, and they want the race to move into other racial lands, knowing that this will completely kill the halfling race. I understand they are not that active, but taking their land seems over the top and unnecessary. Even if it is empty what harm is it doing sitting there?

Can't kill what's already dead. :^)

and, as much as I love the Halflings and all that, they shouldn't receive any special treatment for not being able to keep up their activity (especially if the GMs did give warnings in the past).

What is dumb to me is the fact you're taking away their land... and then offering it to move somewhere else? What the actual **** is the point of moving them in the first place then? If you're going to take away regions of inactive people just because you never see them, go take salvus, haelun'or, and aeroch nor. Why? I've never seen anyone there. Does it mean no one is ever there, and there aren't people that are perfectly happy with a small amount of people rping peacefully together in that place? No, it doesn't. This whole thing is just idiotic. I often stand by the staff, including the admins, but this is just straight up professional stupid, born of certain staff members' inability to think and interact like a normal human being with the playerbase.

Well i'd say that to promote RP on this server why not come up with an event that with 99% likelihood will end up with the halflings having to move for whatever reason, since they didnt meet the required activity. That would make this conflict a rp fight isntead of an ooc one.

"How can we fix an inactive race?"

"Say, maybe we could use our ET to help generate meaningful roleplay for this group that's obviously suffering!"

"That's a stupid idea, dumbass!"

"Let's have them restart from scratch, that should work!"

"Perfect!!!"

I struggle to understand the thought process behind this all. You don't fix something by shooting it in the head, yet you did it... Twice (congrats on the doubletap). Last time I checked, 'helping' isn't a synonym for '******* over'. Your job is to help the playerbase, as your mission statement declares... But you UH... Kinda ****ed us over. This was a poorly coordinated decision and has disappointed a lot of people. Thanks for the support, staff!

I think the staff should release a statement detailing why they chose to do this. In fact I think they should do this with every major decision and include the community as without the community LoTC is nothing

This is about every halfling that we have spoke with in chats. The staff recognizes that not all halflings are at fault but many of you have been literally impossible to work with.

So you destroy their whole town for a few loudmouths?

Come on, this one's fairly obvious. You're putting not being seen to be undermined and getting one over a bunch of insolent halfling players over doing the right thing. Space is not at a premium on this map. So what if the halfling village is wildly inactive? Do you think destroying it will boost their activity?

Giving their perms to some active halflings, sure, that I could understand. But worldediting their village to dust? That's not trying to help their activity, that's an act of vengeance.

This isn't about fairness (as laughable as that word is on LotC) or activity, not any more. It's about saving face.

Now I know why I spent nine-ish hours watching GoT.
I-I don't even have anything else to say beyond that.

What?

I don't know how staff did it, but they actually pissed off and made the generally happiest playerbase mad. Don't do that.

Putting aside everything else that has happened, this is my opinion and why I gave the region back initially:

> The halfling land is basically nothing, a maybe 100x100 area which mostly consists of a big wheat field. It's not cluttering.

> The halfling race is unique and in a grey area when it comes to nation status. It's obviously not a big nation like Oren, however it does bring a unique flavour of RP.

> The area is a nice place for Halflings and non-Halflings to RP alike.

> It's not doing any harm.

I personally think an exception should be given to the Halflings, however that's just my view.
