Fireheart 2777 Popular Post Share Posted December 10, 2015 The White Mountain Warzone Greetings friends of Malinor! Fireheart here to give a small announcement with insight into a new war system that will be put in play! With the current progression of the Human v. Dwarf warclaim, community feedback being thrown around and holidays around the corner a new concept has caught my attention which provides a lot more activity in the warzone throughout the week long periods between warclaims. The White Mountain Warzone will be our trial run with this concept of a PvP-Zone. This warzone is a 24 hour daily PvP-Zone, meaning that if players are statused, PvP is on! The concept in this PvP-Zone is to allow fast paced skirmishes within the defined warzone. Each party will have their respected side, pertaining to a fort that they will be capable of defending from with a giant gap of no-man’s-land in-between all the chaos! Of course there are also a few ground rules to this warzone and what warclaim overseers expect from players that PvP in this area. RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. The humans and their allies shall use status affectionate, the dwarves and their allies shall use status casting. Any soldiers with a differing status or no status will be punished accordingly. 2. You cannot be on the field without one of the aforementioned statuses. Walk around the warzone if you need to pass without fighting. Otherwise, the staff will assume you are breaching rule #4. 3. You may not No-RP kill a statused person outside of the PvP-Zone unless the combat began in the warzone. Doing so will result in regular punishment. 4. Any abuse of this concept whether it be for baiting or spying will go punished by the overseeing GM’s in the area. 5. You are allowed to use whatever means of fast travel you wish to arrive at the warzone. 6. You are allow to return to battle whenever you wish; the 30 minute rule does not apply here. 7. Fights that start in the warzone should stay in the warzone. Purposefully baiting fights outside of it will be punishable. 8. Using LWC in the warzone is punishable; the warzone is meant to be dynamic, not marred with locks. 9. Dwarves and their allies should not enter the human encampment, nor should Humans and their allies enter Rhewengrad. 10. Horses are prohibited from the warzone due to balancing isues. CONTROL POINT MECHANICS 1. Control points: At any given time when there is a fight between two conflicting parties there will most likely be an overseeing GM nearby. With this in mind these overseeing GM’s will be oversee control points. 2. Control points bring a new concept to the battlefield. In theory they act like power-ups. As of now these power-ups consist of arrow barrages (A light rain of arrows that would fall down onto enemies) which will be placed on high cool-downs, but is the stepping stone to possibly more implementation down the road. 3. To control a Control point you will have to occupy the fort that they reside in. These forts are small towers or bunkers that offer light defense and cover to the occupants. When moderators are overseeing combat these control points will change color depending on who controls it. Oren will be purple and Urguan will be orange. From there the controlling party will reap the benefits of the power-ups the forts offer. Neutral points will be marked as grey. As we experiment with this concept we will be adding prizes to victories from each side. These prizes could be discounts on siege equipment or possibly high level gear for future battles! These concepts of prizes will be implemented down the road if this idea proves to be successful. I highly encourage both parties to participate in this warzone and make it what we have created it to be, a battlefield. Each side will have access the their fort and behold the means to use LWC on it, this does not include the Control points throughout the battlefield. In order to access the Oren warcamp, Orenian soldiers and their allies should take fast travels to Erochland, and move west into their snowy palisaded encampment. The dwarven defense takes place at Rhewengrad, so the dwarves and their allies should rally around there. Credit to Hobolympic, Bloodnight, RiverBird, MTH and Narthok to contributing ideas and resources to this concept. I have high hopes for a breath of life to be given to gaps in warclaims through more interactive warzones. We hope this brings fun to the participating players and we encourage participating players to send feedback! Fireheart 2777 Author Share Posted December 10, 2015 Is it possible to capture the enemy fort during warzone battles? The wooden Orenian fort and the Urguanian(?) fort, that will be war claimed this Saturday, are both off limits and out of the PvP-Zone. How long will this warzone be operating? Will it be shut down after the warclaim on Saturday? The warzone will shift depending on the outcome of this warclaim. The PvP-Zone will most likely shift as well, but will still contain certain areas of past battles. Basically it will grow as times goes buy and develop on it's own. Dakirennis 959 Share Posted December 10, 2015 The southern wall in the oren fort could use a slight raise. Anyone can fire in if they're standing on the rocks but aside from that I really like what I've seen so far. It offers a lot of back and forth as well as something that actually looks like a warzone as opposed to an open field.
