Good afternoon, LotC!

With the shift of positioning within the lately developed and trialed Wiki Team, it was spoken about and decided among it's members to hold a small poll to determine the community's thoughts, opinions and experiences with the Lord of the Craft Wiki in both form, past and present. The Wiki Team and the Wiki proper is being restructured and worked on diligently by our new members, and aims to bring about more structured and easy to read content for any and all players to gather and learn information. Whether you're a player new, or old, the Wiki is a hive and source of all information pertaining to Lore Approved, and non Lore Approved topics which uphold the Roleplay atmosphere you each experience on a day to day basis.

Before this moment, the Wiki had been neglected and only saw updates through the actions of a few. This caused the content of the Wiki to become sparse, and to hold no consistent formatting throughout each and every page. Over the coming weeks, months etc, the Wiki Team will be working to correct and work to shape and mold the Wiki into the state we all believe it to be in. So how can you help? Well, to accommodate and appeal to players new and old, we the Wiki Team need to understand which pages you feel are most vital. This will give us an understanding on where to start, and in which fashion to work through.

If you happen select other or have any other feedback in regards to any of the above questions, or even just feedback in general, please feel free to make a post on the thread.

The more feedback and information we receive, the better!

The wiki is lacking in much regarding the temp-maps, or any of the events that transpired on such.

The wiki lacks a lot of

major history, often looking at it I see a player having inserted his own ideas and his own people/guilds/friends over a far

more important piece of history or they simply don't have a good amount of knowledge in the subject. Have them find people knowledgable to contact and have it checked to make sure it's not missing anything. The Highlander page had one line about raevir and lacked anything on the Carrions, Ruska, or Ruskan Orthodoxy; which have had a large effect on server history.

The old wiki was fine. More than 80% of Orcish lore and history was lost.

Rather than complain, you could easily private message him past any history / lore that you know. It would help improve the Wiki, in which case is most likely his intentions of this whole thread. Another point, the Wiki was horribly confusing and difficult to understand for new players(including myself when I first joined), so I believe the update is quite fine as is.

Lol...

He asked for 'our' view. What did you want me to do? Give a false answer?

The orcish history and lore is lost. If I could find it I wouldn't be using the wiki.

Edit: Anywhos, apologies for coming off in a more aggressive manner(hadn't realized till I reread).

I miss the old wiki with the side bar that had all the topics in alphabetical order. It was easy to find topics and also easy to just go through all the different pages reading about lore you didn't know existed. I would often just scroll down the side bar with all the topics and read lore but that's not really possible anymore.

I can't agree more with heff and DP, the wiki reeks of self-inserts, and there is an astounding lack of relevant in character history.

The design looks a lot better though, like someone took some time to make it prettier than the old default wikispaces theme we had for the last one. The map is a nice touch, although it could stand to be updated.

i agree with this, but the main thing i dislike is that i cant for the life of me remeber the names of the magical creatures, which makes me unable to fine a magical creature to play

in other words, would some one please make a list of the magical (playable) creatures. that be a great help (for me atleast).

To anyone saying that the wiki has lost its information is quite untrue, since Mittosaurus had quite a number of us saving pages from the old wiki into the new one.

And to anyone saying that the information is now lost, you have to keep in mind that the wiki directly takes from the forum, and not the other way around. So anything that used to be in the wiki, can be found in the archives. Yes, its effort to dig it up, and its totally self volunteered, so if these 'famous bandits' never volunteered the information, or anyone else for that matter, how can they be expected to be on the wiki?

To criticize them for failing to do their job is totally unfounded if the request was never put it, or if people never helped!

For anyone who reads the Aesterwald page, that came from a result of me interviewing the Aesterwaldians past players for all their documents and history. The result was beautiful, and I feel very proud of filling what was once a gaping hole in the timeline of LOTC. But when I attempted to interview the players from the Savoie royal family, I had gotten no response.

I'm not part of the wiki team, but I think its grossly unfair to blame people when before the wiki team's existence it was depended on the good will and motivation of the players to place information up. Oren's page is actually quite filled with information, albeit done in a bullet point form. So if you were unhappy with the wiki, grab a shovel, go to the archives, and start digging. Keeping in mind anyone can create a page, and that you dont have to be a wiki team member to do such a thing.

I don't know who all is on the wiki team, though I suggest that, to get the lore/history to be more specific and detail oriented, you could recruit members that mainly play a certain race. You wouldn't want someone that has never played or interacted with dwarven players/lore to start writing up everything for that race, and so on.

Maybe interview for specifics?

Another suggestion would be for there to be forums opened for people to dump all the information they have about a situation, a piece of history, a quirk to a race, etc. (Or to make the wiki so anyone can edit, yet the inserts need to be approved by a wiki team member if that is even possible idk). There are a lot of options to be explored in these
